Test Drive Meme

Applications will open on June 30th at 15:00 EST and close on July 08th at 14:59 EST
— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompts below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!
1/ Welcome To The World Of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a legendary Hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. It's probably time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred very often this past year-- Maybe the characters who have been here for longer than you may help.
2/ Do You Like Your New Life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think it is possible to negotiate with the Calamity, you could even participate in the research on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest of them all in Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible!
3/ Neighborhood Woes...
The government of Aqures Ixen is sorry, but there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there are no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have be living with someone very cool and maybe an artist of great talent lives next door! It's just not likely.
4/ Crystallis De Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.
5/ A Thing Called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite it to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.
6/ A Thing Called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.
7/ I Believe I Can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can also borrow the Heroes of Light's official Airship, the Enterprise and some characters even have their own airship! You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.
8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore the ancient ruins that may hold some precious information in the continent of ruins. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere!
9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!
10/ Getting Jobs Is Hard
It all started when you asked Cid to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe he simply asked you to assist him to clean the laboratory. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.
11/ The World Is Subject To Unrelenting Pain and Suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.
12/ Events Of The Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility or maybe you'd have liked to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have preferred to regain your true powers and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles or chase ghosts for a living. Or how about reliving some of your Worst Memories or fighting in A War for future of the world?
13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

Usagi Tsukino || Sailor Moon
[ There's nothing out of the ordinary in the Historical District of the kingdom. People and moogles alike are doing their own thing, and yet amongst the hustle and bustle and sitting all alone (minus her moogle hovering about a foot away from her) is Usagi, white mage hood down to let her odango hairstyle free to flap about in the gentle wind, sitting on one of the many fountains. Laying flat on her lap is her her staff and in one hand is the Red Crystal she had woken up with, and in the other is a rather precarious crystal on a gold chain that reflects a bright almost silver ethereal light whenever the sun shines directly on it.
She's looking down at the two, rotating both of the gems in the palm of her hands, face scrunched up in what seems to be deep thought. She lifts up the red one to look through it in the sun, then the silver, back and forth before she sighs, head slumped forward in defeat. ]
... is something wrong, Kupo?
[ Suddenly, Usagi rears her head back and lets out a very long and annoyed whine, startling her moogle and anyone who just so happens to pass by her. ]
Why does this thing have to be red? Red's not my color!
But... that's the color you're wearin--
Pink! White! Rainbows! Rei-chan's always been the one to rock red more than me! Isn't there some way for me to change the color of this? [ Pause. ] And while I'm at it, isn't there another way to store this outside of putting it in a purse? I lose things really easily and I don't want to lose this crystal!
[ Her hand holding the red crystal is shaking furiously at the Moogle..... and with one final shake, accidentally sends it flying into the air backwards towards some unsuspecting soul. Her moogle has the most horrified look on her face, while Usagi just stares blankly at the sudden empty feeling in her hand. ]
Ah.
[4] Crystallis de Chocobo [4]
W-wow.... you're huge...
[ When she had been informed, Usagi hadn't believed that large chicken looking like things existed, much less existed and people used them as a mode of regular transportation. Her moogle, Kupop Kuri, or as she liked to call her Kuri-chan, had immediately led her to the chocobo farms and after about 45 minutes of whining and complaining, they had made it to their destination.
And now Usagi was standing in front of a training Chocobo that was almost twice her size, staring down at her with a rather curious gaze, head tilted to one side. ]
Well, uh... I suppose I should say, please take care of me? [ She bows her head in respect to the large bird, albeit a bit nervously. What she doesn't realize is that now that her head is bowed, she doesn't see the chocobo leaning its head down, opening it's beak and.... ]
ACK! NO! [ Why yes, that's right. The chocobo may have decided that one of the buns on Usagi's head looked good enough to munch on. ] YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO EAT MY HAIR!
[7] I Believe I Can Fly [7]
[ When Usagi had first heard about Air Ships, the first thing she had imagined initially was a jet liner, the 747's that left from Narita International Airport and travelled all across her world with ease in their air compressed cabins and their airplane food and cramped spaces.
But, now, standing on this airship headed for another major city (which, admittedly she forgot the name of because who keeps track of these things anyway?), Usagi just stands in awe as the wooden airship seems to cut through the blue skies and the white clouds with ease. Her eyes are alight with excitement as she looks over the deck railing, moving back and forth and pointing down with squeals to her moogle who looks shocked at how much energy this Hero of Light has.....
... over flying in the air.
What a strange girl. ]
4
Easy there, you'll end up scaring it if you freak out too much!
[And Twilight uses her magic to get the Chocobo off of Usagi]
no subject
Ewww... now I have to wash my hair.
[ That might be an overdramatic sniff along with a deep sigh. ] Thank you! I wasn't sure how I was gonna get him...
[ She trails off when she finally looks at Twilight and then blinks. ] ... off my hair.
no subject
[A small beat, then] Oh, right - I forgot some people aren't used to talking horses. [Sheepish grin]
My name's Twilight Sparkle. Princess Twilight Sparkle, but you don't have to call me that.
no subject
[ Wait. Backtrack. Hold the phone. ]
Princess....? [ Oh look. She's now in awe. ANOTHER PRINCESS IS HERE WITH HER. HOW NICE. ]
no subject
[And she notices Usagi's awe]
That's right. Back home, I'm the Princess of Friendship.
no subject
Well, it's nice to meet you! I'm Usagi Tsukino. [ She leaves out the super hero bit. Along with the Princess bit. Past lives and alter egos are hard, man. ]

[7]
[When she spots Usagi's exuberance she can't help but smile and chuckle to herself. It seems someone's having a good time down there. It's enough to coax her down from her favorite spot, leaping lightly onto the deck once she's far enough down the rope net to make a safe descent.]
Greetings.
[Rukia approaches in a calm and friendly manner, arms casually folded.]
You must be newly arrived. Rukia Kuchiki, welcome.
no subject
[ The moogle looks almost relieved that someone else is here to be on the other end of the stream of consciousness that is Usagi, because the moon rabbit's attention is now solely directed on Rukia. ]
Oh! Uh, it's pretty obvious isn't it. [ She chuckles sheepishly, reaching behind her head to scratch at it. And out of habit, she bows her head in greeting. ] I'm Usagi! Usagi Tsukino! It's nice to meet you!
no subject
[She smiles, finding the girl friendly and charming.
It probably helps that Rukia loves rabbits so a friendship was inevitable. She even brightens at the mention of her name. It's the cutest name she's ever heard.]Rukia Kuchiki. It's nice to meet you as well.
[SHE LOVES THAT NAME OMFG. If not for her Kuchiki pride she'd probably be--]
[Nope. She totally needs to fangirl despite her usually solemn and serious bearing.]
You parents have excellent taste in choosing names!
no subject
E-eh? You really think so?
[ It's that Japanese humbleness that comes out first, but really Usagi is quite pleased that someone likes her name. She might be internally puffing up with pride because HAHA HER NAME IS AWESOME. ]
A lot of people didn't seem to think so! They always teased me about eating too much mochi, saying I'm eating it instead of making it! [ Because kids are jerks. But, Usagi isn't bothered by it. Not anymore! ]
no subject
[Rukia seems confused by this mockery.]
But why would you be making it, if... Oh!
[Her fist drops into her hand.]
I understand! Because of the moon rabbit, I see.
[She nods, feeling rather clever for figuring out a grade school level insult. Even so, she nods to reaffirm her beliefs.]
I do think so. I'm very fond of rabbits myself.
2!
He didn't expect to suddenly get hit with something! He spun around to instantly face the direction the hit came from, falling into a fighting stance more from instinct than the thought that there might be danger in the town. But when he didn't see anyone trying to fight him or even just looking at him, he relaxed.
He looked down at what was thrown. It felt like a rock, but surprisingly it was someone's crystal! He picked it up and looked around again to see who might have thrown it. He still didn't notice any other hero looking at him, but he did see a moogle looking straight at him in horror. The moogle was by someone with long hair and maybe a white mage?
He jogged up to the pair and to the side of the white mage. He looked over the girl, not sure why she decided to throw the crystal, and held it out to her.]
Yo, is this yours?
no subject
AHAHA.. AHA.... well, uh, yeah...
[ And like that she turns completely in her seat to look at Zell with her face all red in embarrassment as she bows her head and reaches her hand out to take the crystal with a sheepish smile plastered all over her face. ]
Thanks! See? I was totally telling my moogle over here that I lose things way too easy and I wasn't even trying to!
[ She really wasn't.. which is the scary part about all of this. ]
no subject
It hit kinda hard, you tellin' me you didn't mean to throw it?
no subject
[ She looks mortified that it might seem that way and for a second, waves her hands in front of her defense, only to pause so she can shove both her crystals in her side pouch. She's learned her lesson about flailing about while holding items. ]
It was an accident! One hundred percent! I'm really sorry it hit you!
no subject
[He tries to smile to reassure the girl, but he's still kind of concerned on how she'll do against the calamity. It didn't seem like she was the kind of person who knew how to fight. Fortunately she looked like a white mage, so she'd have other people to support rather than trying to take on things on her own. At least until she got more used to this place.
But with all the waving around her hands did (he didn't really fault her for that, he'd always used hand motions to help explain what he was saying), he noticed that she held two crystals. As if that wasn't strange enough, one of them looked kind of like his.]
Where'd you get that other crystal?!
no subject
That other..... oh.
[ There's a moment of hesitation from Usagi as she looks down at her pouch, regarding the (temporarily useless) Silver Crystal with her minds eye through the fabric before she turns her head up to look at Zell with a gentle and nostalgic smile. ]
That crystal was a gift from my mother. I had my father put it on a necklace for me so I could keep track of it!

2.
Pardon me, but is this yours?
[She carefully holds the red crystal out to Usagi, as if it were a precious gem to treat with care.]
no subject
Ah, uh yeah! That's mine! ! [ She nervously laughs, turning her whole body to face the Elezen that's inquiring about her crystal. ] I'm really sorry about that! I've got a bad case of ..... the.... [ Usagi's eyes go wide when she finally gets a good look at Alisaie and she all but squeaks out. ] butterfingers.
[ Oh no. This girl is cute. ]
no subject
Then I would suggest a small pouch you can wear around your neck. [and, flatly, almost concerned:] Do be careful with your crystal. Had it shattered you would no longer be standing.
[...She's seen enough not live to meet the morrow as their crystals shattered to know.]
no subject
But, she doesn't. There's an inital widening of her eyes, before she looks down at the red crystal between her and Alisaie. Her other hand squeezes the other crystal tightly and once she pushes back the images of everyone shattering into stardust, she just puts a smile on her face and nods, reaching to take the red crystal much more carefully. ]
That's my bad. I'll be more careful.
[ She knows. She understands and she just slips it into her side pouch for the time being, at least until she can figure out a better place to put it. ]
I'm Usagi! Usagi Tsukino. And you are?
no subject
[She smiles faintly, nodding once. Now that she is certain that Usagi will take this seriously, she feels as though she can at least humor her for a moment.]
I take it you've recently awoken?
no subject
[ Not that her opinion should really matter, but she's still gonna compliment on it all the same with that big huge grin on her face. ] Yeah, I just got here the other day. Still getting the hang of everything. Everything's so different from where I'm from! I'm kind of besides myself.
2
Pardon me but I believe this belongs to you.
[Moon Princess, meet Scion Tank.]
