1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.

2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.

3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.

4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.

5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.

6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.

7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.

9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!

10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

12/ Events of the Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to capture a Chocobo during Crystalis de Chocobo, maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility, or maybe you'd like to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Or maybe you would have liked to regain your true power and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles.

13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

Elle Mel Marta | Tales of Xillia 2

3/ Neighborhood woes
The idea of living with somebody in this world didn't bother her too much, as long as they weren't a baddie and they knew how to cook. There are certain things a nine year old girl could never do on her own, after all, even in this universe where she was given extraordinary abilities.

"I wonder if they got pets?"

Needless to say, her image of a perfect housemate was someone like Ludger or her daddy, as they were the only people she has ever lived with up until this point. Elle took a deep breath, reaffirmed her bravery, then gingerly opened the door to her shared house.

"Hello..?"

"Ah, hello!" chimed a voice from inside. "Come in, come in!" Ever since Merdey had arrived she had been feeling quite hungry. It was fortunate for her that her moogle had directed her new lodgings, which had luckily come with a fully stocked pantry!

"My name is Meredy!" she sang, mixing a large bowl of... ingredients vigorously. "Have you just arrived too, as a hero of light?"

Elle simply nodded to Meredy's question about being a hero of light, mainly because it was still weird for her to say it out loud, but her instincts also tell her to be wary of strangers in a strange land... not that Elle wasn't a stranger herself!

"My name's Elle." she introduced herself as her eyes wandered around the room. It didn't take her long, however, to take note of the storm that was being cooked in their kitchen. "W-What are you making?"

"It is nice to meet you, Elle," the girl greeted in her broken speech. It was clear that she wasn't a native speaker of the language, but she was still easy enough to understand. As the other girl explored the room, Meredy took to humming as the stirred, adding a little of this, and a little of that. An array of things were out on the counter, things that you wouldn't normally expect to mix well together. Pickles and milk, mustard and gravy... some kind of... ground meat... But at least it wasn't tomatoes, right?

"Meredy is making something to eat, of course!" she chimed happily, as though the answer should have been obvious. "Are you hungry? Meredy is starving..."

"Meredy is...?" Elle glared at her roommate for a moment. This girl could barely speak properly, how could she have learned to cook something?! As she approached closer to inspect what was on the menu, she did not like the unfamiliar ingredients that she was seeing, although no tomatoes was always a plus. Such was the life of a fussy eater.

"No, thanks." Despite Elle's stubborn protest, however, the growling of her tummy spoke otherwise. "...W-Well.. that's..." Embarrassing, that's what it was!

[personal profile] melnics 2014-12-27 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
"It is okay, Meredy has made enough for us both! Do not worry," she continued to stir, adding a little of this and a little of that, apparently unconcerned with Elle's initial denial, as well as experiencing a bout of denial herself.

"Please, sit," the girl invited with a sweep of her arm, and with the motion, slopped a patch of... her mixture along the countertop and floor. "... Oops."

Any humiliation that Elle may have experienced was immediately trumped by Meredy's kitchen antics. "Fine, if you insist!" Elle pulled one of the table chairs out and tried to make herself comfortable. At least this part felt a little bit like home.

"You really have no idea what you're doing, do you?" Of course, Elle was no expert herself, although she had plenty experience watching somebody else cook... not that it counted for anything.

[personal profile] melnics 2014-12-29 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
"That is not true," she insisted. "Meredy has watched Farah cook many times. Reid, too!" Even Keele! It didn't look so tough, a touch of this, a little of that... things usually came out tasting all right whenever the others tried! She was sure that this time would somehow be the same. "Even the great Wonder Chef has given us recipes!"

The girl sort of twirled about as she worked, humming quietly along the way, finally finishing with a flourishing kick that she closed the door of the oven with. "There!" Dusting her hands off, she approached the table herself, taking a seat while the cooking magic did its thing, just... smiling.

Elle stood corrected, perhaps this girl did know what she was doing after all, even if she seemed a bit away with the fairies. At least she wasn't such a terrible roommate, she seemed friendly and inviting, and friends in a different world are hard to come by. Well... she was sure that was a saying, anyway.

"The great Wonder Chef?" Elle had to question the validity of this chef, for there was only one great cook in her eyes and she was pretty sure this girl never met Ludger. "If he's such a great chef, then how come he's giving away his best recipes willy-nilly?"
melnics: (:))

[personal profile] melnics 2014-12-30 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Hmm," she seemed to give it some serious thought, placing an index finger on the tip of her chin. When she had apparently come to a conclusion, her smile returned, bright as ever, "Why not share?" she countered simply. "If Meredy had many tasty recipes... sharing them with friends would be lots of fun. That way, everyone can enjoy delicious things together!" she nodded, as though that somehow further proved her point.

"The Wonder Chef knew many things, taught all of us how to make many meals. Meredy thinks... that sharing that knowledge is one of the best gifts of all." Pumping her legs a little on her seat, it was obvious she wasn't the best at sitting still.

"Elle has never met the Wonder Chef before?"
timesout: (sad)

[personal profile] timesout 2014-12-30 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Sharing with friends? She knew that Meredy had a good point, in fact most of Elle's arguments would come from the fact the she was childishly stubborn. If certain events in her life hadn't gone the way they had, she could have grown up to learn recipes from Ludger or her daddy. Indeed, it made sense that this Wonder Chef would share recipes with friends.

"So what if I haven't?" Elle quietly protested, looking down at the empty table as the scent of a good meal surfaced from the kitchen. "His specialty is probably something with gross tomatoes anyway!"
melnics: (:T)

[personal profile] melnics 2014-12-30 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Tomatoes...?" Where had that come from? Curiously, the girl tilted her head to the side. "Perhaps there are recipes that have tomatoes, Elle is right," Meredy didn't exactly sugar-coat things, and she wasn't keen on lying either -- "buuuut... that does not mean we must follow them all the time! It is fun to make new recipes too! With tomatoes or with none!"

She may have put on a brave front, but up until she had met the others... meals with friends were a foreign concept to her as well. Sure, Galenos had always been pleasant company, but it wasn't like spending time with Farah and Reid...

Her thoughts seemed to sober her up slightly, and her expression softened as she regarded the young girl. "Next time, Meredy and Elle can make their own recipe too, okay?"

"R-Really?" Elle blinked twice in surprise. This was huge! Even Ludger never asked her for assistance in the kitchen, but it wasn't like he ever needed it anyway.

"You would let me help you?" She asked to make sure this is really what the girl wanted. Her daddy always told her to be careful around the kitchen, but it didn't look that hard whenever Elle watched. Still, perhaps it was better to confess this right away. "I.. don't really know much about cooking, though." If nothing else, Elle knew that she was only nine so far, but it's better than eight, right?
melnics: (:D)

[personal profile] melnics 2014-12-31 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
"No problem!" she encouraged boisterously, "Meredy does not know very much, either!" Even though she had previously insisted otherwise, the fact of the matter was that her experience with cooking was mostly as a spectator. But Farah made it look so easy...! "Recipes have to be made by someone first anyway... why can we not be the ones to make it up?" The mage had a way of making things sound so simple and and do-able, even when she had little to no idea of how to get them done. Not that that would have stopped her, anyway...

Whatever savoury smell had once wafted over in the air, was steadily replaced with a charred, smokey-one...

Elle laughed in relief, "I guess we are kinda alike, aren't we?" She always wanted to make something of her own, too! It wasn't fair that Rollo liked Ludger more just because he brought all the good food to the table! And it helped that Meredy was so inexperienced as well, because they wouldn't be slowing each other down. Yes, this made perfect sense Elle. That was, until, a strange aroma filled the air...

"Haha.. ha... hey Meredy, what's that smell?" Elle's face continued to beam, still thinking about the great recipes they could achieve together, she had failed to connect the dots yet.

[personal profile] melnics 2015-01-01 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
The laughter was slightly contagious, and so, Meredy found herself chuckling as well. She had already learned that lesson that although people from different worlds could be entirely different... there would always be ways that people were similar. It was a comfort, and by extension, sitting here with Elle was, too. "Hehe, what is..." she was about to parrot the question back at the other girl, but instead, shot up on her feet, eyes widening.

"Baiba!" she exclaimed suddenly, noting the smoke rising up from the stove. "It is supper, oh no!" Grabbing the nearest towel, she started to wave it wildly in the air, dispersing some of the smoke in the process as she rushed over to the oven and pulled it open.

Reaching in, she quickly pulled out the casserole dish she'd placed on the rack, and placed it on top, revealing something dried out, burnt, and blackened. With a groan, the girl waved at the air again. "Maybe... Meredy needs to learn more first after all... aheh..."

Elle continued to sit in her chair as she watched Meredy in action, feeling no need to jump in at any point as she would probably make it worse. She has seen this kind of disarray whenever Milla would experiment with her recipes. Sighing, she suddenly felt quite vindicated about her initial assessment of the girl. However, this was no time to rub it in her face, as this threw them back to their first predicament: what is there to eat.

"...I don't suppose they have take-away in Aquarium Ixnay?" She pondered loudly, not quite sure how to pronounce their new hometown yet.
