1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.

2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.

3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.

4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.

5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.

6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.

7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.

9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!

10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

12/ Events of the Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to capture a Chocobo during Crystalis de Chocobo, maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility, or maybe you'd like to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have liked to regain your true power and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles. Or how about participating in Christmas at Crystallis or fighting in a war for the warriors among you?

13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

Prompt #2--Do you like your new life?

Overall, Lydia wouldn't say she was unhappy. She was used to traveling to a new and strange world. (Few were stranger than the Neitherworld, after all.) It was lonely, without Beetlejuice--and she'd tried calling him, but no answer. Well, not from him anyways--Betel-Po had appeared, and asked what he could help with. Apparently the moogle had thought it was urgent, and had run to her.

But not having a reflection was taking some getting used to. Even after Betel-Po had explained about "jobs" and that oh, hey, she had a "rare one" as a vampire, it was equal parts interesting and...scary. Not in the scary-that-she-normally-liked way. These people expected her to be a hero? She could try...

At least Betel-Po had been helpful with helping with her clothing. Lydia did like the new cape, and she couldn't tell if she was paler than normal or not. The fangs were kind of neat, although she'd taken some practice chatting with her moogle to make sure she didn't have an accent or a lisp or anything.

But she needed to know more, and maybe find someone besides her moogle who she could chat with.

A wild Jaenelle appears!

[personal profile] witch_child 2015-02-26 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Well, she wouldn't be much help, but she was someone to chat with...

Jaenelle was drawn by the feeling of a kindred spirit who was lonely, who needed a friend. It was how she met most of the interesting people in her short life. And for the most part, it was fun!

Jaenelle appeared behind Lydia when she was alone again, and waited a moment before intentionally rustling her cloak to make the other girl aware of her.

She was draped in a heavy black cloak that hid everything about her, including height, since she was sitting on a stool that wasn't there, cloak brushing the ground below her.

So basically, she just looked like a figure in a dark cloak... though a close look at the bottom of the cloak might show the lack of feet....

She didn't mind the moogle's company, but it was easy enough to admit that sometimes she did want to be alone. Even Beetlejuice, back home, had gotten that about Lydia. She hoped he was staying out of trouble.

Still, the tug on her cloak confirmed it--but Lydia had briefly had that sensation she associated with strange things. It'd become especially attuned thanks to her trips to the Neitherworld, but she also knew she had an active imagination. Nice to know in this case, it really had been something that caused the prickle along her spine.

Most people might find the sudden appearance of a black cloaked figure unnerving. Especially since it was hard to tell who or what was under it. Lydia wasn't most people though. Offering a small smile, she knelt down a bit in case whatever/whoever it was might be frightened.

"Hi. I promise I don't bite, even if I have new fangs."

[personal profile] witch_child 2015-02-26 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Two small pale hands poked out of the cloak, reaching for the hood. bruises showed around the girl's wrists for a moment until the hood was pulled down and the hands dropped, the sleeves taking them again.

She had a young face, maybe all of ten years old, if that. Her deep eyes were sapphire, bottomless pools of blue. There were deep smudges under those eyes however, that spoke of too little sleep. But the face itself... she would be pretty when she grew into the sharp planes and lines of her face, but just now she looked a bit odd.

But her lips quirked into a smile. "I'll promise not to bite, even though I don't have new fangs," she pledged with a silvery velvet coated laugh.

Lydia laughed too, still smiling. "I just didn't want you to be afraid, as well as shy." Amused (and maybe a bit alarmed when she thought about it) to find someone younger than herself here, she stayed in her crouched position. "I'm Lydia, I'm newly arrived. Still trying to get used to things."

"I'm Jaenelle," she said with a warm smile. She offered her hands, palms up in greeting.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, sister."
deadlyvu: (aww...thanks Beej.)

[personal profile] deadlyvu 2015-02-26 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Lydia's head tilted slightly to the side, even as she still smiled and remained friendly. "Sister?" She meant it just as a greeting right? Maybe she had the Vampire Job here as well; like that time she and BJ had infiltrated a Witch's coven to find Percy (her cat). They'd greeted each other as sisters.

"Are you new here as well, Jaenelle?"

[personal profile] witch_child 2015-02-26 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"You were lonely, missing a friend, so I came," she said simply.

And then her eyes shifted, they went from deep bottomless sapphire to the simple summer-sky of a sweet but slightly befuddled child. "Tell me about your friend?" she asked, dropping one hand and using the other to floof her ridiculous sausage curls. An odd dichotomy there, the hair done up in a way that clearly shows care, but the bruises on her arm that clearly shows something else.

[personal profile] deadlyvu 2015-02-27 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that made sense, even if it didn't answer Lydia's question. That was all right. Maybe Jaenelle was shy about answering things about herself.

"That's Betel-Po, a moogle. He was there when I woke up, and explained what's going on." Lydia replied, noticing the bruises and odd contrast. But it might take time to draw Jaenelle out, if she was in trouble and Lydia really didn't know what to do. Other than be her friend and listen.

"He's funny. Did you want to meet him?"
witch_child: (Default)

[personal profile] witch_child 2015-02-27 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Alright," she said with a small kid smile. She had meant the friend that was making the other girl so lonely, but that could wait. She hopped off of the air stool, landing neatly on the ground, pulling the cloak up so she didn't trip on it.

Nanami had been studying. One of the downsides of being a student was that she was trying to keep abreast of school. She understood school better than being a Hero.

Of course, maybe she shouldn't carry that many books and nearly run into people. Sorry, Lydia, you are about to be tripped over.
deadlyvu: (cloak and snow)

OMG your username is perfect for her!

[personal profile] deadlyvu 2015-02-27 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
Lydia was used to people 'ignoring' her, but not necessarily people actually not seeing her. Turning, her eyes widened and she made a small noise of startlement. Moving quickly to the side, and hoping to not get hit by the person or their books.

"Um...would you like some help?"
nomorecowbell: (confused)

Re: OMG your username is perfect for her!

[personal profile] nomorecowbell 2015-02-27 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Are you offering to help me?" Nanami said. "I can't believe I have this much homework. I'm supposed to be a Hero."
deadlyvu: (aww...thanks Beej.)

[personal profile] deadlyvu 2015-02-27 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Sure. It's a lot of books, so why wouldn't I?" Lydia offered with a smile. "What homework? I didn't think we had school here, given our situations." The other girl didn't look much older than Lydia. She didn't seem to be one of the preppy mean popular girls, like Claire, either.
nomorecowbell: (nervous)

[personal profile] nomorecowbell 2015-02-28 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Nanami was a reformed Mean Girl.

Well, mostly reformed.

She was trying really hard, okay?

"I'm trying to transfer schools back home, so I didn't want to get behind, okay?"
deadlyvu: (Disappointed)

[personal profile] deadlyvu 2015-02-28 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"Woah, easy." Lydia responded, moving to take some of the books off the stack so she could help carry them. "I wasn't trying to judge, just surprised. I know how difficult it can be to try and stay current, especially while traveling."

With all her forays into the Neitherworld, it was a wonder she wasn't behind herself at Miss Shannon's. Then again, Lydia usually liked school--at least most of the work. Prudence helped, while Lydia made sure Prudence didn't spend ALL of her time locked away with extra schoolwork.
nomorecowbell: (nervous)

[personal profile] nomorecowbell 2015-02-28 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Have you done things like this before?" Nanami said. She looked more like the kind of person who would be the evil witch than the hero.
deadlyvu: (Disappointed)

[personal profile] deadlyvu 2015-02-28 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not...quite like this, no, but I do travel a bit." Lydia replied, carefully hefting her part of the stack of books. "Where were going with these?"
nomorecowbell: (Default)

[personal profile] nomorecowbell 2015-02-28 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"Back to my home. It's in the 14th district." Nanami hefted her own books.
