The chocobo trilled happily, and affectionately nuzzled its feathered head against Ichigo's bright hair. Looks like he made a new friend.

"It's been many months since last we saw one another," Rukia replied, still petting the chocobo. "Well over a year since my voice could even reach you." She glanced at Ichigo, then back at the bird. "I suppose you could say that I miss my friend."
