Elena was staying with Sephiroth?? Nothing in that sentence made sense. He knew that it was possible for Sephiroth to be here, given what Reno just told him. But. That still wasn't something Rufus was really prepared for or wanted to hear. At this point, the only thing worse was for someone to tell him that his dad was alive and stinking up the whole place.

Rufus wasn't really counting on Tifa to be too cordial with him, even after the business with the Remnants. But his mind was still focused on Sephiroth, the bigger threat to him than anyone from AVALANCHE.
