— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompts below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!
1/ Welcome To The World Of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a legendary Hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. It's probably time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred very often this past year-- Maybe the characters who have been here for longer than you may help.
2/ Do You Like Your New Life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think it is possible to negotiate with the Calamity, you could even participate in the research on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest of them all in Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible!
3/ Neighborhood Woes...
The government of Aqures Ixen is sorry, but there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there are no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have be living with someone very cool and maybe an artist of great talent lives next door! It's just not likely.
4/ Crystallis De Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.
5/ A Thing Called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite it to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.
6/ A Thing Called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.
7/ I Believe I Can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can also borrow the Heroes of Light's official Airship, the Enterprise and some characters even have their own airship! You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.
8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore the ancient ruins that may hold some precious information in the continent of ruins. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere!
9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!
10/ Getting Jobs Is Hard
It all started when you asked Cid to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe he simply asked you to assist him to clean the laboratory. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.
11/ The World Is Subject To Unrelenting Pain and Suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.
12/ Events Of The Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility or maybe you'd have liked to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have preferred to regain your true powers and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles or chase ghosts for a living. Or how about reliving some of your Worst Memories or fighting in A War for future of the world?
13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

Jack | Samurai Jack
It's been a long day of shopping behind him. He's made the rounds around town hitting all the various adventurer haunts. He's all stocked up on supplies: potions, food, flint and steel, waterskin. He even stopped into the weapons shop to find himself a good bow for when the trusted sword at his side wasn't enough. Now, there's only one thing missing.
That's why you might find a certain samurai at the local hat shop, seeking out the best fit. And it looks like he's having some trouble. Beside him is an assortment of various chapeaus. A ten gallon cowboy hat, a baseball cat, a pinstriped trilby. Jack himself is at a mirror frowning at the bowler hat currently resting atop his head.
This could be a challenge.

It's a housing crisis is what it is! With so many new people coming in, hardly anybody has their own place to live. Fortunately for whoever ended up in this house, their roommate is a pretty quiet guy. Didn't make much noise, kept to himself and definitely didn't cause a mess.
The greater surprise comes along the second or third day after his arrival. He's by the door early in the morning, tying a backpack shut and and slinging it over his shoulders. His sandals are strapped on tight, his brand new round straw hat is resting on his head and his sword is safely tucked into the sash around his waist. Looks like Jack is off for the long haul and may not have any plans on returning.
Looks like you've got the place to yourself after all! Or is that not a good thing...?
7.
Airship flight! It's safer than walking, or so they say although Jack certainly has his doubts about that. All the same, it's fast and getting him where he needs to be to become the next leg of his journey, and it's rather peaceful... or at least it was for the beginning.
It appears that something of important to one of the other passengers has somehow been caught by a gust of wind and blown overboard! Luckily it got caught on one of the wings and is holding on against all odds. Perhaps it's an object of some importance to somebody, or maybe an unfortunate Moogle.
Either way, that's how Jack has ended up rappeling down the side of an airship in flight with a line of rope tied around his waist and his eyes locked on that wing and very much not on the ground way below.
"Yes, I am fine!" He calls upward. It's dangerous but he promised he would recover this object and that's what he's going to do. "Just another moment and I will reach the wing!"

After that little kerfluffle on the airship, Jack's back on foot how he prefers it. From her on out, he can be encountered anywhere. Exploring ancient ruins, just another soul on the road, or even battling random monsters. Jack's certainly no stranger to random enemies appearing in his path, nor would he turn his back on another traveler who's run across some trouble.

She was sleeping on her stomach when Jack came down, her cheek mashed into the armrest of the couch, one arm slung over the edge as she slept deeply. He was quiet enough not to rouse her at first until she heard the gentle clatter of his wooden sandals.
Her lashes peeled back as she partially cracked open one eye, staring blearily at the polite samurai. For a moment she just watched him, wondering where he was off to at this early hour. When she noticed the backpack, it became obvious that he wouldn't be returning for quite some time. Maybe not ever.
"Where are you going?" she mumbled sleepily, peering at him. Surely he wasn't about to march off and fight some giant monster on his own, right? That would be severely foolish.

He was just debating what to do about her when she started to wake up. It didn't feel right to leave without a goodbye of some sort but should he wake her before he departed, or leave a letter...? Either way, it seemed that choice had already been made for him.
He stopped by the door when he hears her speak up, letting out a quiet sigh.
"I cannot remain here." He said quietly, half-turning his head back toward her. "I must seek out a way to return to my home."
no subject
She was going to give him the benefit of the doubt, because she had met few men in this place with the degree of honor that the samurai seemed to possess.
"If the Calamity succeeds in claiming this world, it will spread to the others. Yours, mine, all of them. Leaving isn't an option, even if we did have a way to return."
no subject
"I know." He answered quietly, closing his eyes. "... But my home is already under the rule of a great evil as well. One that has already begun to spread to the stars and will continue to do so until it has consumed all worlds if it is not stopped."
He turned to her, bowing his head.
"I promise, I will not abandon this world to the Calamity and I will do all I can to defeat it as well," he sighed heavily, "but I made a vow to my father and my homeland that I would not rest until I found a way to destroy the evil that destroyed them and restore peace to my world. Even if it is impossible, I must try."
It was a vow he could not break, even if it meant taking on the burden of two worlds. Surely, Rukia could understand that much....

She sat back on her heels, head bowed. "He seems to have been taken here from an earlier point in time than I was. And yet, even so, there was no evidence that he had ever gone missing. I think it is safe to say that we will be returned to our worlds once we have succeeded in our mission here. What's more..."
The shinigami huffed a little sigh, then smiled. "You won't have to fight your world's evil alone. If we are able to travel from here to our home world, then it's possible we might travel to each other's worlds as well. I would gladly lend you my aid, if you wish it."

Then the wind took care of the rest, and Rialynn's sheepish surprise turned to outright horror. "No! No no no no no!" She nearly skidded onto her face as she hastily whirled around, making a frantic grab for her treasure, but it was too late. Desperate, the young bard dashed across the deck, boots thumping on the wooden planks, and she crashed right into the railing as she strained forward. She almost went over the side, and honestly, she was on the verge of climbing down to the wing herself when Jack stepped up with a rope in hand. Her eyes were wide as she turned to look at him.
She couldn't ask him to do this for her. The bandanna was the last remnant she had of a person she'd revered, and if it was lost at this height, it would likely be gone for good. She didn't think twice about the dangers if she herself went after it, and she surely would have, but he was already sliding down.
Rialynn skittered along the side of the railing to follow his progress, casting a nervous glance at his rope. It looked like it was going to hold, but even so, a fall from this height would surely kill him. "C...come on, this is crazy, even for you!" she protested, shaking her head. "I'm sure it'll stay there until we land!"
She was such a lousy liar, but if he died trying to get her bandanna back, it would tear her apart.
no subject
Not that... he spent much time dangling off the side of flying ships. But if he ignored that part it wasn't very dissimilar from climbing a mountain.
"It is alright!" He called back, raising a hand to shield his face from the heavy wind as he continued to lower himself closer to the wing and come closer. "I will have it in a moment!"
no subject
"I mean it, Jack! Come on back!" Rialynn grasped the rope with one hand, leaning over the railing and extending her other towards the brave samurai to invite him back to safety. "I'll just get another one, so don't worry about it!"
Another lie, but she didn't care. Whatever it took to bring him back. "Please?"
no subject
Focused on his climb, he didn't look back as Rialynn pleaded with him to return. The bandanna was almost within his reach, just a few more inches....
And then the little strip of cloth lost its hold on the wing. Jack saw what was coming a moment before it happened, eyes widening slightly. Releasing his grip on the rope he ran a few steps along the airship hull and leaped forward, just catching the bandanna with his fingertips....
... And then vanishing beneath the airship's wing.
no subject
She thrust out her hand as if she might still snatch him back from where he fell, but there was no sight of him. He still had the rope tied around his waist, right? Rialynn whirled around, desperately grabbing a crewmate's arm.
"Help me pull him up!" At least she hoped that the knot he'd tied was sufficient to hold his weight. She grabbed the rope with both hands, planting one foot against the ship's side as she leaned back with all of her might. She wasn't particularly strong, but with help and the proper leverage, then maybe...!
