— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompts below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!

1/ Welcome To The World Of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a legendary Hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. It's probably time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred very often this past year-- Maybe the characters who have been here for longer than you may help.

2/ Do You Like Your New Life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think it is possible to negotiate with the Calamity, you could even participate in the research on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest of them all in Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible!

3/ Neighborhood Woes...
The government of Aqures Ixen is sorry, but there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there are no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have be living with someone very cool and maybe an artist of great talent lives next door! It's just not likely.

4/ Crystallis De Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.

5/ A Thing Called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite it to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.

6/ A Thing Called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.

7/ I Believe I Can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can also borrow the Heroes of Light's official Airship, the Enterprise and some characters even have their own airship! You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore the ancient ruins that may hold some precious information in the continent of ruins. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere!

9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!

10/ Getting Jobs Is Hard
It all started when you asked Cid to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe he simply asked you to assist him to clean the laboratory. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

11/ The World Is Subject To Unrelenting Pain and Suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

12/ Events Of The Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility or maybe you'd have liked to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have preferred to regain your true powers and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles or chase ghosts for a living. Or how about reliving some of your Worst Memories or fighting in A War for future of the world?

13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

"Mogya,s not an animal, he's a Moogle," Aang said. "Come on, let's go!"

He also switched his dance steps into something that would slow the enemies down. It couldn't hurt.

"Let's not get into the technicalities of what defines a 'Beast'," Gene replied with this eyes rolling to the top of his head. "Run."

With that, he dashed off as fast as his Gunner job allowed. His jobs were stacked for combat, not running, and the Beurs were fast. They wouldn't let their enemies escape without a fight.
partofthecycle: (dismay)

[personal profile] partofthecycle 2016-05-02 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
What Aang wouldn't give for his airbending skills. Or at least a sky bison assist. He was fast on his feet and not wearing armor, but it was clear that Gene couldn't get away.

"It's not working! Look, we don't want trouble!" The last was called back to the Buers. Aang suspected Gene could handle himself, but if they could resolve this without anyone dying that would be best.
ussa: (UNACCEPTABLE)

[personal profile] ussa 2016-05-02 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately, the Buers didn't care about negotiation. Their leader swooped down at Gene, knocking him to the ground.

"Fine." He hated how weaker he became when he arrived on Crystallis, which he was sure had nothing to do with his age and the lack of combat experience that came with being a military officer. He rolled over and fired again at the Buers.

[personal profile] partofthecycle 2016-05-02 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Aang could hear you there -- and, given his experience, the sort of old men who could lead armies were often badass. He aimed his staff at the leader of the Buers to give it a good whack, putting in some of his skill as a Beastmaster.

"Okay, looks like we need to fight these guys to get them to leave us alone." Apparently that was how monsters worked here. Aang didn't have to like it, but a few people he knew were just like that. "You fire, I'll support?" The Dancer could really weaken the enemies they fought.
ussa: (I am grounding everyone under 18)

[personal profile] ussa 2016-05-02 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
At last, Aang got it. Gene pushed himself up and adjusted his grip on his gun. "Acknowledged. Keep your Moogle and pet out of the way in the meantime." He didn't understand the use of the Dancer job, but he couldn't allow the pitiful display of small creatures attempting to fight monsters.

He set up his weapon to fire a lighting spell, pushed himself up into a crouch, and fired. Another Buer fell.

"He's smart. Keep him around, kupo." Tataru nodded and gave the other moogle a thumbs up.

"Actually, I have been here several moons. About nine I believe..." Has it been that long? Gods she misses Ysayle and Hildibrand and Darling...

3. Neighborhood Woes

[Wow...what a nice, big house this is! Honestly, Akane hadn't expected anything more than a spare room at the inn, so this is a pleasant surprise.]

Hello? Is anybody--oh!

[Knocking on the door causes it to swing open. It was already ajar? She holds up both of her hands, surprise clearly registering all over her face before she decides it can't hurt to take a little peek inside.]

Anybody home?

[Doesn't sound like it, if the resounding silence is her only answer. So Akane steps inside. This is where she's supposed to be living now, so it's not like she's actually intruding. It gives her a chance to wander around the living room and the kitchen, though she's polite enough to stay out of the bedrooms until she knows which one is hers. That's when a quiet 'splash' draws her attention. That sounded like it came from the back yard. One more place to explore, then!]

[And that's how you find your new roommate, Akane -- kneeling in the grass next to the manmade pond, a small box turtle slowly wandering over her lap as she giggles girlishly. What? Turtles are cute, it's not her fault.]

------------

4. Crystallis de Chocobo

Eeeeeeeeeeee!

[It's hard to tell if the brown-haired girl clinging to the neck of the sprinting chocobo is squealing from fear or sheer delight. The large yellow bird streaks across the corral, head down and wings spread, as Akane sits astride the mount leaning forward as well.]

[Get a good look at her face, however, and it's easy to recognize the unbridled joy reflected there. The bounding steps bounce and jostle her, but she doesn't seem to be in danger of sliding off.]

[At least, not until the chocobo bounds over the fence. That's when Akane takes a tumble, landing with a grunt in the tall grasses and rolling to a stop. Her clothes are rumpled, and her hair is wildly disheveled after her sudden crazy ride. But she just looks so happy...even if she's definitely going to bruise after all of this. To be alive, and feel the sun on her cheek, and smell the fresh country air... It's almost everything she could want. There's no horrific future waiting for her here, no half-existing between two realities, and only her brother knows what she had to do to stay alive. He's here with her too. It all feels right.]

[All that's missing is...]

[Akane's nose wrinkles as she shifts a little, feeling the solid lump in her pocket that's digging into the small of her back. Straightening her clothes puts the pocket back in the right place, as well as the little doll stuffed inside of it. No...it's better this way. The questions he'd ask aren't the sort she's prepared to answer right now, or ever. It's better for him to remember her as she used to be.]

[But still.]

[Akane rolls onto her stomach, propping her cheek up in her hand as the doll mysteriously finds its way into her other palm. He'd love this place, wouldn't he?]

Chie Satonaka | Persona 4

[personal profile] f_steak 2016-05-03 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
2. Do You Like Your New Life?

Hyah! Uwahhhh! HYAH!

[Okay. Now that Chie's been thoroughly briefed that this is not some new weird dimension inside of the TV and that she's in no immediate danger, she's calmed down and stopped embarrassing herself. She's still got her glasses in her pocket, just in case, but so far she hasn't found a single situation where they've been necessary or even useful. What IS useful is wailing on this training dummy with her powerful kicks, because of course she showed up in this place as a Monk.]

[But it still feels weird, being dragged into a place like this. Why was she the one who got chosen for the job, out of all their friends? The Chief seems more suited to being a...a-a Hero of Light, wasn't it?...than Chie could ever be.]

[Still, it's not that bad. Sure, she misses her friends and family, and even her smelly dog. But it's kind of cool to think that right now she's working hard to save them. She'll just have to tough this out, lift up her chin, and punt the Calamity to the next universe! Chie, that's not how this works.]

[Once she's worked up a good sweat, she stands back and wipes her brow with a big smile on her face.]

Five-hundred kicks...not a bad way to start things off!

[Then her gaze tracks to the sword she set down on the bench. Monk isn't the only job she picked up, apparently she's also a Paladin. Chie scratches her head, tousling her short brown hair. What's she supposed to do with this thing, anyway? Her legs are where it's at. Wearing a sword and armor will just slow her down, won't it?]

[Sighing, she hefts up the sword, and finds it to be...surprisingly light! Or is she just stronger now? Well, whatever! She takes a clumsy swing at the dummy aaaaaaand chops it right in two. The upper half goes thumping limply to the ground, leaving Chie standing there with eyes the size of dinner plates.]

Oh crap! I didn't mean to ruin it!

[Murderer. Vandal!]

-------------------

5. A Thing Called Mognet

[Chie stares down at the blank piece of paper in front of her, awkwardly grasping her quill. How is she supposed to hold this weird thing? More importantly, she only knows how to write Japanese, and even then her literary skills are only adequate at best.]

Uh...

[Oh man. Why can't they invent cell phones, or texting devices? That would be so much easier.]

[The Moogle floats patiently nearby. It had already offered to transcribe for her, but Chie was too embarrassed to accept. She's not so high and mighty that she has to rely on others to write her letters for her.]

[No, she's got this. She's totally got this. Chie concentrates hard, scrawling each letter as best she can. It looks pretty good! ...For a first-grader, maybe. Finally she finishes, and picks up the letter to dash outside and grab the attention of the first person she meets.]

Hey! Excuse me! Does this look legible enough to you?

[What she wrote is 'Hello my name is Chie nice to meat you I am neuw hear and not so good at writing please be gentul.' But good luck translating even that. She looks up at this person, eyes shining with hope. It's passable, right? At least a C+?]

Of course there's lightning. Aang hadn't particularly liked it, and getting nearly killed by Azula's lightning didn't improve the feeling. And, unlike firebending, he hadn't spent a lot of times coming to terms with that, because lightning was such an unusual skill in his world. Unlike this one.

"Only a few more," he said. The remaining Buels were starting to be affected by the status effects Aang was dancing up. That and a few staff blows discouraged them from getting too close. Aang couldn't take them out, and he didn't really want to, but he could at least keep himself and his companions safe.

Turtles are cute. Even if Aang keeps expected to have them be turtle-ducks. Somehow those heads on those bodies just looks strange to him.

"Hi! Are you new here? My name is Aang."

Momo had alerted him to the presence of someone in the yard, and now the lemur was perched on his shoulder examining the newcomer. Possibly to see if she was feeding the turtles, as well as playing with them. Momo had priorities, and the woman didn't appear to be a threat.

Orihime Inoue | Bleach

[personal profile] leekspins 2016-05-03 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Welcome to the World of Crystallis!

[Orihime taps lightly at one of the six-petal hairpins. It's so weird, not being able to feel the tiny spirits connected to her own soul. It's also strange not being able to feel the spiritual presence of a single person around her. Her Moogle gave her the rundown and answered her riot of questions, but there's still a lot she's trying to figure out.]

[Like how she can get the right Jobs to become a Cyborg Ninja. That might be one of her top priorities.]

[She pauses in front of the Crystal of Fire, studying it with quiet curiosity. Her folded hands separate as she reaches out and places her palm on the flat surface. Then her fingers jump back.]

Oh! It's really warm!

[But not in an unpleasant way. She touches it again, a small smile slowly spreading across her face. Neat!]

[After a few moments of silent appreciation, the chestnut-haired girl withdraws and turns around to get a good look at the other Heroes who have also awoken. It seems like the veterans are starting to arrive. Orihime cranes her neck, hoping to see a familiar face, but she's pretty delighted at seeing the really strange-looking people show up too. In fact, the weirder the better. It's not every day she gets to meet someone who doesn't have some sort of human origin at the very least.]

[If no one approaches her first, then she has no problem taking the initiative. Orihime surges forward toward the first friendly person she sees.]

Excuse me! Would you mind showing me how to get to the airships?

[Because that's one of her top priorities too.]

[OOC: I can't actually app Orihime into the game, but heaven knows I've always wanted to. Here for other people to test, or just to play around with for fun. Don't feel obligated!]

Ignoring, Aang's reactions to focus on the battle, Gene reloaded his gun and fired an ice bullet. The monsters did appear to move more slowly, the only possibly explanation being that dancing at them did work. Strange, yet symbolic. Mindless creatures dedicated to brute force face against the symbols of humanity: culture - Aang's dance - and technology - Gene's gun. Adding to that are domesticated animals, something only humans have achieved. The two of them easily holding their own against a horde of Buers; defeating the way of the wilds, the--

A Buer swept at him in the middle of his internal monologue, cutting his cheek. Gene swore under his breath and reloaded. "We're almost got them all, keep at it!"

[Guess who witnessed that whole nearly-breaking-your-neck-on-the-giant-fucking-chicken affair? That's right, Akane, it's your brother. You know, the one who spent nine years helping bring you back to life/prevent your death. He's giving her his most sour bitch-face.]

Akane, you mind not recklessly endangering yourself in front of me?

[He snorts when he sees that damn doll.] Hasn't that fuckin' thing given us enough problems?
sesenta: (Oh hai)

[personal profile] sesenta 2016-05-04 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Don't be mad.

[She stuffs the doll away a little too quickly to be completely guileless, though. Akane knows why he's cursing at it, though. It was her fault she want back for it and got caught, but she's sure he'd never cast the blame on her. So he'll blame the doll.]

[Standing to her feet, she brushes the leaves of grass from her skirt and smiles. See? Good as new. She wears too many layers to show any bruises anyway.]

I have to learn sooner or later, don't I? Otherwise I'll have to run everywhere I want to go.

[The chocobo is returning, trilling inquisitively at her. Akane reaches up to stroke its feathered neck.]

Can you ride them, Aoi?
sesenta: (Carefree)

[personal profile] sesenta 2016-05-04 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Akane glanced up with a beatific smile. She was a little surprised to find that she was going to be roommates with a cancer patient someone so young, but she certainly didn't mind. "Yep! I just got here today. My name's Akane," she introduced herself, and held out the turtle toward Aang. It stretched out its neck, paddling thick legs uselessly in the air now that it had nothing to stand on. "Nice to meet you, Aang!" Here, have a turtle to hold.

I imagine it does all sorts of wonders for trade as well.

[Hisui crosses his arms, deep in thought though.]

It also brings up the unpleasant possibility of malfunctions, and given that airships can travel over land, they could very well crash into towns.

[personal profile] 21stcenturyguy 2016-05-04 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Tch. [Hell yeah, he blames that damn doll. And that bastard Hongou. And, of course, himself, for not keeping a better eye on her. And forgiveness for any of the three is just not on the horizon.]

You can learn on a slower damned chocobo. [He checks her over. He's not saying he doesn't trust her to take care of herself, but not saying something doesn't mean it ain't true.]

'Course I can. I'm the best fuckin' rider these losers have ever seen.

"But Kupobi-Wan, I was going to go down to Tosche Station and get some power converters! I can't be a Hero of Light right now!"

The young moisture farmer groans and turns away from his exasperated moogle. He can't see any way this isn't going to set his enrollment to the Imperial Academy's flight school a whole nother season.

"C'mon, there's gotta be some mistake. I'm going to be a pilot, not some mystic warrior."

5

Luke eyes the airship and huffs. "What a piece of junk!"

He hasn't flown off-planet yet, but he's pretty sure that ship isn't space-worthy. Definitely not going to lightspeed. It's really just a floating sandcrawler.

He still wants to give it a spin, though. It'll be the biggest thing he's ever piloted, though certainly not the fastest.

"Is there anything else I can do?" the moogle asked, trying to keep a straight face.

“Perhaps you can stop with that horrible smirk, for a start?” Edgeworth replied, crossing his arms. Why was she laughing? “I just said ‘Chocobore’ and you instantly started giggling.”

“N-nothing, Kupo! Heeheehee! I’ll be on my way, Kupo!”

And with that, the smirking moogle left. Edgeworth was vexed. What could the Moogle find so funny? And in a situation as dangerous as his? He was stuck in the middle of the Calm Plains with no obvious way to go and that infuriating bird he was riding before he fell off it had probably gone for good. And, ugh, his bottom was still hurting thanks to that fall.

Well, there was no need to panic. It would not do any good. Not if he wanted to survive.

Edgeworth glanced around. There must be some good rock he could take refuge behind until he could send for help. He would rather avoid bloodshed if possible.

It was then that he noticed someone, who may or may not have been witnessing the conversation between him and his moogle.

"Ah, excuse me! Perfect timing!"

He may look like he's glaring at you. Unfortunately, he does not realize he is doing it.

Rukia had, in fact, not noticed Edgeworth and his Moogle until he called out to her. And what a coincidence, she just so happened to be riding a chocobore chocobo of her own, with brilliant emerald feathers. She pulled up on the reins, slowing the bird before directing it toward the man.

The chocobo itself appeared to be a proud thing, holding its head aloft and somehow managing to look down its beak at him as she held herself with picture perfect posture.

"Yes? What is it?" She was fairly certain they had never met before, so she assumed he was one of the new arrivals, likely one that had departed the Temple of Fire before she arrived.

Unwilling to dismount just yet, she would nonetheless happily answer his questions, as she was sure he must have had many.

And so did she, when she realized his situation. "What are you doing out here without weapons or armor? You are a mage of some sort, I hope?"

He found himself taken aback at the older man, mouth open wide as he points at himself. Did Hinata do something wrong? He sure as hell hopes not, considering that he's fairly certain that he didn't. Unless someone checked his file. But it was locked! Hinata was 100% sure about that, no question.

Relax, Edgeworth, your savior is here. By a lucky happenstance, Pyrrha happens to be out training her new Chocobo Knight job today. And while she isn't exactly the Steel Samurai, she does wield a spear and cut a rather impressive figure seated atop her red chocobo as she comes riding up.

"Oh, hello there!"

Seemingly undaunted by the expression on his face, Pyrrha offers a friendly smile and a wave after sheathing her weapon.

Thank goodness. Someone had arrived. "My apologies for the inconvenience," he said before giving a bow. "I'm afraid that I'm a slight predicament, you see. The chocobore I was using seems to have run off."

He was not going to easily admit that he had fallen off. It would sound embarrassing.
