1/ Welcome To The World Of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a legendary Hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. It's probably time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred very often this past year-- Maybe the characters who have been here for longer than you may help.

2/ Do You Like Your New Life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think it is possible to negotiate with the Calamity, you could even participate in the research on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest of them all in Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible!

3/ Neighborhood Woes...
The government of Aqures Ixen is sorry, but there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there are no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have be living with someone very cool and maybe an artist of great talent lives next door! It's just not likely.

4/ Crystallis De Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.

5/ A Thing Called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite it to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.

6/ A Thing Called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.

7/ I Believe I Can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can also borrow the Heroes of Light's official Airship, the Enterprise and some characters even have their own airship! You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore the ancient ruins that may hold some precious information in the continent of ruins. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere!

9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!

10/ Getting Jobs Is Hard
It all started when you asked Cid to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe he simply asked you to assist him to clean the laboratory. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

11/ The World Is Subject To Unrelenting Pain and Suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

12/ Events Of The Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility or maybe you'd have liked to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have preferred to regain your true powers and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles or chase ghosts for a living. Or how about reliving some of your Worst Memories or fighting in A War for future of the world?

9.

Encounter! Coppelia is standing there, gauging the amount of enemies. She had gathered up precisely 5 elementals, 6 bombs, a cactuar and three dozen assorted smaller enemies. Tilting her head, she stated in her matter of fact tone.

"Defeating these enemies with wide range AOE will take approximately 5 minutes and 42 seconds. Coppelia suggests using your strongest abilities. At 2 minute mark, Coppellia will administer healing, and utilize a wide range threat debuff, in order to allow the tank to utilize any hate-gathering abilities."

Coppelia didn't seem worried she gathered so many dangerous monsters.

"In the chance of party wipe, Coppelia will swiftcast a Resurrection Prayer. Let us begin."

Three!

Dejectedly, Yang drops her bags on the bed that is now hers, looking around the room. Small, so small, much smaller than the one she had at Beacon, and she has to share again. That's just grand - she thought she was finally getting out on her own!

Sighing, she sits by her bags, pulling out a picture of her team, thumb brushing Ruby's wide smiling face. Let's hope her new roommate's someone like Ruby, or Blake; at the very least someone she can get along with. Yang prides herself in getting along with anyone, so it might not actually that hard - as long as they're not the kind to creepily stare at her while she tries to sleep.

Putting the picture away, Yang rolls her shoulders, getting up again. Enough of the melancholy - she has unpacking to do.

There's a polite presence near the door when Yang is unpacking, and Coppelia speaks. "Do you require healing?"

Ever the conversationalist, the maid-dressed woman tilts her head at Yang. She was very Kanami-like for the short time she had known her, but Yang shared Kanami's enthusiasm.

"I have prepared tea and shortbread for the party. Unfortunately it carries few buffing stats."

[ Have you placed any orders recently? Splurged on an oversized sword, found the giant Cactuar plushie you've always wanted, or landed a sweet deal on a new Magitek Armor?

(Some say it's actually a knockoff the size of a Hypello, but you won't know unless you try.)

Regardless of your answer, there's one waiting just for you, but instead of your friendly neighborhood fluffball, the package is delivered by one, particularly impatient Mognet employee in one of their stuffy Moogle costumes, ready to jab you in the back if you're not paying enough attention. ]

What's your name?

[ The voice comes out muffled because of the outfit, but there's something about it that makes it clear she didn't intend for it to sound like a request of any kind. Demand, maybe. All Tsugumi wants to do is to get rid of the box in her hands, and this had better be the right person. ]

Here is only lady who doesn't have the time or patience to waste surveying the battlefield. She's brilliant, sexy, and way more competent than anyone else she's ever known, so she just just going for it.

Yzma has 'Overlord' equipped, but she's swapped out the Dark Knight's sword for a large mallet. She dashes forward, spindly legs carrying her surprisingly fast for a woman of her ag...level of maturity.

"Ah ha ha HA HA! I'll smash it with a hammer!" she titters, as she brings down her weapon on the nearest bomb.

Coppelia. Thank you for my package.

[Coppelia was unused to getting mail other than GM mail, and she stood there, hands clasped with that ever blank expression on her face.]

I had placed the order an hour ago, and it arrived on time with a variance of 2 minutes. I have been told that being polite is key to further deliveries.

[Actually, inside that box, there's another box. And inside of that, a flea. A harmless little flea. So it's surprisingly light. But that's neither here nor there.

The woman who opens the door and peers out is rail-thin and more wrinkle than woman now. Her eyes gleam as she spots the package, and she indulges in a moment of wicked cackling before she answers the delivery mascot.]

I...am Ysma. [She says it with an air of expectancy. Cower in fear, moogle girl. Fall prostrate in awe of her presence!]

It didn't take long for Ashelia to adjust to being back among the living - or rather, the moving, as she technically was not dead. She had been in crystal stasis for a much longer period of time previously, of course. Several months was nothing compared to almost thirty years. She familiarized herself with her abilities nearly as quickly; she sneaked out of the hospital, her Illusionist abilities making it all to easy to slip out unnoticed.

Though by nature her time in crystal stasis felt like none at all, she couldn't shake a vague sense of stiffness, both in mind and body. She felt as though she was moving through molasses, the very air around her resisting her every move. How much time had passed? Where did Aqures Ixen stand in the conflict? Had the refugees been relocated to Santa's Village? Had the Emperor honored their Yuletide agreement? What of the Calamity? How much of the world had it consumed while she had been in stasis? Her thoughts raced as she walked along the cobblestones. She was too distracted to keep up the illusion, letting it drop as soon as she was free of the neighborhood around the hospital. She needed information - and she didn't want to alert the other Heroes to her presence just yet.

And so, the Queen ducked into an alleyway and teleported to one of Aqures Ixen's seedier establishments. All the better to learn about recent happenings. She refused to return to her compatriots a lost lamb, and so took a place at the bar, swirling around a glass of terrible wine she'd bought with a few spare gil she'd had on her person when she'd crystallized.

"The tank has aggro, proceeding to clean up."

Well, at least Yzma was... effective, to say the least. One would think she'd be overexerting herself, but Coppelia was a effective medic. For a former Bot, she was also very good at hitting things.

Pulling out her two shields, Coppelia brought the full force of her Cleric Custom Job to bear. "Commencing engagement."

Shooting forward, Coppelia struck two bombs and hit a third before engaging a wide range AOE into the trio. Some of it might accidentally grace Yzma though.

[ What an awfully strange way to reply. To be entirely honest, she's a little bit at a loss as to how to address Coppelia's unexpected kindness, brows furrowing slightly as she sizes up the girl in front of her, finding nothing but a somewhat vacant look. In a way, she almost resembles—.... ]

I... don't know about that. You pay for the service you get.

[ Said rather flatly. She's signed up for the job because it allowed for an easy money gain, nothing more. Without further ado, she extends the package toward Coppelia. ]

It's heavy.

Surprisingly, Coppelia was there, passively sitting among a group of toughs. They were laughing and joking, but not one of them had touched the delicate looking woman. In fact, it seemed like they were avoiding any lewd propositions.

"Oi oi," said one of the toughs. "A newbie to the bars?"

"Shush you," scolded another tough, this one with a large mohawk. "That's one of dem Heroes of Light."

"Bah, Hero or not, they don't have anything on Lady Coppelia," said a third tough with an eyepatch and a large afro. "Oi, you want company?" He called out to Ashe.

"Bruno," said Coppelia and he blushed, "What I mean to say, is that you need a drink ma'am?"

It is a pair of shields, [Explained Coppelia.] Each one weighs 20 pounds each.

[Coppelia took them without nary a budge, or flinch as she reached into her wallet with a free hand. Withdrawing a handful of gil, she said,] I have been instructed to pay for services, with a generous sum. This is Master Kanami's last order on how to be polite.

Ashelia looked over at the group of ruffians, raising an eyebrow, but saved most of her attention for the Lady Coppelia. "You've my thanks, but I am in possession of a drink." Ashelia stood up and walked over to the group's table. "What I am in need of is information."

The Queen didn't recognize Coppelia - was she a Hero of Light as well, or merely a warrior her underlings thought to be a match for one? "Have you what I seek?"

[ The cackling does a well enough job at lowering the bar before the woman ever gets a chance to speak, after which everything becomes clear. There's absolutely no point in even bothering. ]

...

[ There's not even a single shrug to comment on the dramatic entrance. The oversized Moogle peers at Yzma in absolute silence for a brief moment, and then - without any warning - tosses the box at her. Yeah, she's noticed how light it is, but it wasn't as though anything could change her... rather rough ways. ]

That's one hundred gil.

Ruby idly walked by the room, Zwei following right behind. She'd been more than a little lost since everything happened a few months back, but on the bright side, she'd been making a few more friends.

She'd wandered by the room and cheerfully waved. "Hiii~! You must be new here! I'm Ruby and--" she stopped as she realized who it was. "...Yang?"

"I have gathered much information if it is what you desire," said Coppelia in her level tones. She didn't seem unwilling to give it out, as she sat there with hands folded in her lap.

"Coppelia only requests to know how if you have been away for several months, or have just arrived. There is little gained from explaining the whole history of this world."

"Lady Coppelia's a Hero," said Bruno, grinning. "But she's a good one. She came in one day, and healed everyone after a bar brawl. We don't touch her, and the rest of the thugs in town knows this."

"I see." Ashelia's eyebrow didn't seem like it was lowering at any point. That's one way to gain the loyalty of a band of thugs. Still, she couldn't fault the young woman for her compassion, and Ashelia had learned the value of placing her trust in those mostly considered under the honor many times over in the past.

"I have been...away." No need to reveal more about the Heroes than needed - Ashelia wasn't sure how commonly known the crystal stasis was among the population, despite there being a whole wing in the hospital dedicated to the crystallized Heroes.

"I will recap, the previous six months starting from October, if that is sufficient enough?" said Coppelia as the men went to get drinks for this. It was STORYTIME.

"October, otherwise known as All Saints Wake and Hallows End in many worlds, it coincides with the holiday of Halloween for Earth. On the night of the 29th, at precisely 12 midnight, 13 moogles utilized a Black Crystal in order to summon forth a deity known as Good King Moggle Mog in a form similar to Earth stories as a "Stay Puff Marshmallow Man". November saw the impending Crystallization of the Empire City, which occurred in January of 2016 Earth Time."

Coppelia tilted her head. "Is Coppelia going too fast?"

Ashelia nodded. She knew about the Night of the Thirteen Moogles - she had been darting about, distracting the giant creature until the Ghostbusters had found the means to defeat it. But the crystallization of the Empire...

"So it did happen." Ashelia opened her mouth to continue, but stooped for a moment. Did this young woman just refer to herself in the third person? Focus, Ashelia. "The crystallization. What of the Heran people? Were they granted amnesty to flee by the Emperor after all?"

"The people of the Heran Empire were forced to flee. While the numbers are not known to Coppelia, the majority of them reside in Santa's Village, up on the northern continent. To visit, one must either utilize the land bridge or Shoopuff Airlines to reach it. Currently, improvements are underway for the improvement of the landscape to better the refugees' lives."

Coppelia thought for a moment. "The capital has been transformed into a state known as Pandemonium. According to lore, Pandemonium is the birthplace of monsters, and/or the landing site for the monsters from the Moon as accordance to Final Fantasy VIII. Crystalis hosts much similarity to the worlds presented."

"We don't know what Lady Coppelia means by that either," said Bruno with a grunt. "She sometimes says a lot of confusing stuff, like how she's not a real woman or something."

"Truth. I am one of 19 Bots created by a Chinese Money Laundering Group for the extensive purpose of obtaining Gold for the utilization of reselling its value to Players." said Coppelia without breaking.

"See? Weird stuff." said Bruno.

"Monsters from the Moon?" Ashelia repeated, shaking her head. "I...was under the impression monsters were the souls of the dead unable to be recycled through the Crystal of Life." This Pandemonium sounded like trouble.

Ashelia looked from Bruno to Coppelia and back to Bruno. "There is always a method to the madness, if one looks closely enough. The Heroes hail from many different worlds - what seems to lack logic to us may not be so where she is from." Ashelia hadn't a clue what the Lady Coppelia was referring to either, but it didn't seem to have any bearing on things. This Final Fantasy though...

"Crystallis does indeed hold similarities to many others by nature - it is made up of those that have come before in previous cycles." She bit her lip in thought, crossing her arms and tapping on her lips with the tips of the fingers on her right hand. "Is that all we know about Pandemonium? What of the Emperor Garland?"

"It appears that there are similarities, if not some differences. The statement of the souls of the dead seem apparent for this world." said Coppelia with a nod.

"Yeah, she's just really weird sometimes. Often talks about HP and MP and stuff," said Bruno. "She's an odd cookie."

At the last question, Coppelia replied. "The Emperor's status is unknown but presumably he lives in some fashion. Pandemonium is a place that manages to stay isolated due to the inability to access it as a location, due to the crystallization process. There has also been developments with minor side quests, The Chocobo Forest, as well as another Side Quest known as the Other Heroes of Light. The Other Heroes were a group awoken and journeyed here. Their numbers have severely diminished, due to the strange deaths and vanishings of said members. Numbers were estimated to be almost fifty. Only few remain."

Ashelia nodded along with what Coppelia was saying. "The Emperor would live, of course - he has yet to reset the cycle. Whether it means we are not past the point of no return or not..."

The mention of other Heroes gave the Queen pause though. So many! And almost all of them vanished, or dead? "Other Heroes? Explain, please. Where did they awaken? Here in Aqures Ixen?"

"According to the data presented, an unknown number, presumably fifty or more Heroes were awoken in the ruined city of Aqures Tosf approximately seven and a half months ago. These heroes went on their own adventure until reaching the city of Mysida. According to testimony, they had lost several of their number before reaching the sanctuary."

Coppelia paused here. Wasn't it right to remember them in a moment of silence for the fallen? "Approximately seven months after their awakening by the woman known as Kalki who had been said to have fallen at the hands of Palitutu and Artemicion and their Ultima Weapon, several of them crystallized abruptly. Some died, according to reports, while others lived on, linked to the Crystal of Fire."

"A damn shame," grumbled Bruno. "There were kids in that group. Even us toughs don't spit on the dead."

"The ruling factor of the city has said they are researching the cause, and have not come up with answers. They also claim the Fire Crystal is losing power, much like a battery on its last legs. Soon, there will be no more Adventurers."

Yzma lets out a little bit more rage on the bomb she's been smashing on before turning to Coppelia. She felt that attack, don't even think she'll get away with that.

Fixing her with Yzma's most angry, wild-eyelashed stare, she growls out, "WHY did I think you were capable of this ONE SIMPLE TASK? I hit, you heal. Is that HARD? Too hard for a stupid little maid-girl?"

Her Illusionist skills allow her to repeat her ally's most recent attack. So she Imatates that AOE and sends it right at Coppelia. It might hit some enemies, too, but it matters so little to Yzma if it does.
