[She turns to her companion, her determined enthusiasm relaxing into a confident smile.]
It looks like he's going to take last place, but I got a hot tip that he always does this until the last leg. Then he puts on a burst of speed and passes all the competition. With the winnings I get, dinner's on me!
[She winks, then goes back to shouting encouragement at the chocobo. It stamps its feet and ruffles its feathers, letting loose a mighty wark.]
Oh! Here it comes!
[Lita grips the railing and leans forward, staring intensely.]
[The chocobo squats down in the middle of the track and folds its head against its wing to take a nap. It doesn't even pass the finish line.]
WHAT?!
[Lita grips the railing hard, almost doubled over the bar as she leans forward in a mix of shock and outrage.]
But he said it was a sure thing! I put all my gil on that bird! Why that slimy no good snakeoil salesman...!
[Gritting her teeth, she rolls up her sleeves, fully prepared to stalk into the crowd and find the grubby liar and shake him until money falls out of his ears.]

[One would expect a girl as big and brawny as Lita to either be stuck in the goalie box, or using her muscles to shove her way roughly through the water. But she's surprisingly graceful. Her long, strong legs propel her easily and swiftly through the water, and she's definitely not afraid of getting a little rough to get the ball, shoulder-checking opponents and taking more than a few brutal blows herself. If that's how the game is played, she'll play it.]
