[Zell had been wandering around the town, but rather than randomly taking in the scenery, he was going to specific places. He wanted to see what changes there may or may not have been since apparently a year and a half had gone by! He'd been helpful when he came across some of the new arrivals, but unless they were clearly distressed, he didn't worry too much about them.
He didn't expect to suddenly get hit with something! He spun around to instantly face the direction the hit came from, falling into a fighting stance more from instinct than the thought that there might be danger in the town. But when he didn't see anyone trying to fight him or even just looking at him, he relaxed.
He looked down at what was thrown. It felt like a rock, but surprisingly it was someone's crystal! He picked it up and looked around again to see who might have thrown it. He still didn't notice any other hero looking at him, but he did see a moogle looking straight at him in horror. The moogle was by someone with long hair and maybe a white mage?
He jogged up to the pair and to the side of the white mage. He looked over the girl, not sure why she decided to throw the crystal, and held it out to her.]
