"Mm?" Her smile...something seemed different about it. But it was the drop of her gaze that made him want to ask if he'd said something wrong. But he didn't have much time for that when she'd started walking again, this time asking about his time spent in the military. What did he do there? That was a good question, one that he had to think about until she asked him if he wanted to be a hero. Heroes meant a lot to her in her world, didn't they? In a way, Cloud could understand.

"My honor...my dreams...they're yours now."

"..."

"You'll be...my living legacy."

Cloud wasn't sure if he could really tell a stranger, nice as Zelda was, about all of that. So he could at least tell her parts of the truth as he caught up to her. There were no lies, only things that he didn't think would be wise to tell her about his past. She seemed to take a great interest in him, and yet...

She reminded him of her in some ways.

"For the most part, I was sent out on patrol missions. I didn't see too much action as far as combat went." By comparison to the work that members of SOLDIER did if they were around, he seemed like an afterthought. It wasn't until Zack that he truly started to come into his own, even for being a lowly grunt. "Did you want to become a hero?"

"... yeah," he nodded with a small smile. "I wanted to become a part of SOLDIER. They represented what being a hero was all about. The pride, the honor, the power to protect the world you cared about, and the people in it." He turned to Zelda as he said this, still having to get used to the fact that his own symbol of his legacy was gone now, now carrying a more simple sword in its stead. It'd have to live on in his heart now, if anything. Cloud chose to become a part of SOLDIER so he could be a hero, just like Sephiroth; so that he could save the girl when she needed someone to sweep her off her feet just in time.

"Guess that here, we're all heroes now. At least...we're supposed to be."
