He sat on the rocky surface to catch his breath. Thankfully, the tactic worked which bought them some time rest. His face showed the shock just then. He wasn't sure if he wanted to laugh or walk away. At the very least, he was able to recollect his thoughts enough to address the part that had him confused to begin with.

"On the risk of sounding completely oblivious, I'm curious. Who are you?" He leaned back with his palms pressed against the ground. He thought the face was familiar but he didn't want to make any assumptions that would make fools out of them both. His expression softened enough though he was still focused on the surrounding terrain just in case of another attack.
