Takakage Kobayakawa | Samurai Warriors

3 - chocobos;

Each adventurer was entitled to their own mount, it seemed. And Takakage had been lucky enough to obtain one from the farm itself. People had to go to great lengths to capture one of wild origin. The owner of the farm had left him with instructions on how to take care of it - though, a name still eluded him.

The avian looked at him with large, innocent eyes. It was still young, and a little jittery - but calm enough to tolerate his presence. He scratched it absent-mindedly under the chin, letting his mind wander a little.

"You're quite beautiful, for your species."

The chocobo squawked a little, perhaps as thanks, but the squawk quickly turned into a screech as a creature streaked past them at furious speeds -

- the strategist jumped too, but more from the bird's reaction than anything else.

Spooked, it started running about in circles.

Um.

A little help, here?

7 - monsters unseen;
Beasts lurked off the beaten paths, outside the boundaries of the cities. And yet, in order to get anything down, an excursion had to be undertook.

A wolflike monster leapt out of the undergrowth and spun onto the pebbled road. Takakage stopped abruptly, and drew his sword from where it had been strapped to his waist.

The wolf jumped.

In a single fluid motion he slashed the air in front of him, releasing a bluish crescent-shaped shockwave. This was followed up by his tome, which rose three inches above his hand and snapped open to release spears of ice from within its pages.

To an observer, the speed of his reaction would suggest that this wasn't the first time he had done something similar.

The ice bolts converged upon the monster, sending it off course. It crashed off to the side of the path, but quickly picked itself up, baring its fangs in a snarl.

Two other wolves emerged from the bushes, echoing the first wolf's growl.
