Ales watched Mimi as she ran up to Lora and initiate a separate conversation, then faced Balarai once again.
"Ah, you see," he put on an apologetic smile before launching into a rapid-fire monologue, "it doesn't necessarily mean we all can perform kind of magical rituals we see in this world. In fact, I as just researching how they actually worked!" He gestures towards the book he was reading a few minutes earlier. "We Teensies are more of the type that's in tune with the harmonies of our world.
"Not that there are communities of Teensies that specialize in various forms of magic, but you can't exactly ask anyone to do some sort of high-level ritual. But we all have an affinity towards it; why, it's part of our basic schooling!"
Ales rested his hands on his hips as he considered something. "I could impress you with some of my skills right now, but unfortunately, all of those powers seemed to have gone away once I arrived." Satisfied with that explanation, he pulled out some blank sheets of paper.
"I may have worked with selling potions at some point, but I don't have a clue as to how the physics of this world work. I would gladly appreciate any help with that, in fact!"
As he spoke, he began writing a few words underneath each other on the paper, spaced three inches apart from each other. "Potions" was written on top, with "Magic/Science study" and "Resource Gathering" under it. Right below "Potions", Ales wrote "Balarai - potion making partner".
