Ales appreciated Baralai's offer to teach him how the magic and science of this world worked. Life only would become more difficult without understanding and knowledge, and this offer meant that the world had some sort of order to it.

He looked forward to working with Baralai.

Ales frowned at the thought of another world delving into chaos. "I hope that everyone back in your world gets their lives back together quick enough before the next major catastrophe. Those things happen too often for my pleasure, unless you've got a leader competent enough to prevent that." In his experience, that rarely happens. "Or is this Yevon the leader of your new world?"

He kept an attentive face as Baralai discussed magic. Of course you had to practice magic at your own pace. How else do Teensies learn to wizards? It's just like any other subject. "I'm not exact-lay sure why you are mentioning these," he said, pronouncing each syllable slowly. "Are you suggesting I take up magic while here?"

Learning to wield magic in this world would be useful, but Ales felt a little uncomfortable about the thought. It also would take away time from finding and creating items to sell.
