"I am told we are to be returned upon our defeat of the Calamity from the Skies." Like most of this Heroes of Light business, Ashelia didn't sound too invested in this latest revelation. "There are versions of the legend that say one of the ancient Heroes of Light sacrificed his life to put a stop to the Calamity's rampage. They say it was the only way to save his love, the Princess." Ashelia looked at Ramza, jaw still set in her way. "What this means for our struggle, if there is to be one, I know not. But I stand by my convictions."
Ashelia coudln't hold back a full on laugh at Ramza's assumption. "I am far from the leader of this merry band, Ramza. The Heroes come from worlds unimaginable even to someone like myself, who has seen so much. Their independent streak runs as wide as a midsummer day is long. Some are merely children." Literally and figuratively, Ashelia thought wryly. "A Queen of Ivalice I may be, but here in Crystallis I am naught but another pawn caught unawares on this chessboard."
