Character: [OU] Lydia Deetz
Canon: The Beetlejuice Cartoon
Info: Lydia's mostly a normal, if eccentric, 14 year old girl. She's friendly and sweet, while also having a prankish side. Used to having to solve her problems with cleverness, even with the aid of BJ's magic. Don't let the perky-goth scare you, really.
Job(s): Vampire (prime) and Scholar (Second)
Housing: B-13. (She's digging that it's "13".)
Moogle: Betel-Po. A prankster-ish moogle who acts out for attention, but get his job done. Shaggy blonde fur with stripes dyed in it, he hides his insecurity by being loud and ready with a joke.
Status: Lydia has adapted well so far, given she's used to strange adventures in the Neitherworld, and BJ's magic and abilities get them both IN to trouble as often as they get out of it. But now that they're out of prison, she's going to have it all hit her--that she has no access to home, no best-friend here, and nothing really familiar. She's kept her calm during the initial crisis, but is likely to have a teenage-fit-meltdown soon and will need calming/cheering up. Once that's done, she'll bounce back pretty well with friends and acceptance, and she's gung-ho about doing what she can to help people.
Employment: I'm hoping to have her help research various things, and maybe get a job at the magic shop, or with the theater, or both. She'll probably do school, as she doesn't dislike it really.
Plans: My initial plan is to do her teenage-angst-fit post, along with have her start at the library. She's really friendly, and not intimidated by appearances, so don't be afraid to approach her. She'll want to go exploring too and see this new world, as adventure is always exciting. There were also plans for Tea-time of various kinds with Makoto littlemak.
Desired CR: Someone besides Kenshin to Big-brother/Big-sister at her. People get into mischief and explore the world around her with. General friends she can talk to, as no one here will treat her like an outcast the way they do back home.
Undesired Things: Not break her so hard she can't be played. I've never been a player who heaps trauma on trauma on trauma on my character to break them, because that makes them unplayable to me. Drama good, broken-character due to all the angst/trauma=bad for me.
Shipping: Sure, with CR? Lydia has been on a few dates (with the Prince of the Neitherworld no less) but hasn't really shown romantic interest in anyone. She's 14 though, and crushes are very likely.
Additional Comment: I'm friendly. I can be very much like an eager puppy sometimes, but I KNOW this--so please don't be afraid to talk to me. I promise I don't bite. I welcome CR, and I've really been digging things so far. I'm a Final Fantasy fan since way back with the original, although I lost momentum after 9. My favs tend to be 4, and 7 (although I haven't caught up on all the compilation stuff so bear with me.).

Since they are roommates, I'd like to play Nanami off of Lydia, since Nanami's canon self would be the sort who would either ignore or cause problems for Lydia, but she's actively trying to be a less terrible person, but still tends to have a low weirdness tolerance (mostly because her school's weirdness either leads to comic mishaps or tragic mishaps for her).

I'd be down for that. I'm well-familiar with Utena-canon (esp since I just did a re-watching of it!), and I always liked Nanami, even as mean-girl as she could be at times. ^_^ I'm happy to have them play off each other. I'd guess the dynamic would be Nanami trying to not be mean/deal with weirdness, and Lydia not taking any bullying while trying to respond to friendship-overtures? That's how it usually seems to go with Claire (even if Claire doesn't really ever stop bullying...)

Honestly, I'm looking forward to it. ^_^

Sounds like fun. And I liek Nanami because the series really does deconstruct why she's the way she is, rather than just being 'she's a jerk and minor annoyance to Our Heroes'. (And, surprisingly, she's one of the only Student Council members who goes full on 'no, I am out of this nonsense'.)

*evil grin* Bring it on! I admit, always been more a Vincent gal in RL, but I do like the complexity of Sephiroth's backstory and complications. 7 was the second FF game I really got INTO, although I've fallen off a bit with the compilations.

Either way, Lydia's not easily intimidated and used to making friends with all kinds. Gimme CR! *adorably cute look*
