Info: Rikku's cannon point in FFX is post Wedding/post Bahamut acquisition. For those unfamiliar with the character she's generally a fun loving, optimistic and charismatic person. She's very talkative, wears way too many colors, is strongly opinionated and stands up for what she thinks is right.
Job(s): Ninja/Thief/Blackmage/Bard
Housing: B-07 With OU Yuna and Zelos
Moogle: Mochina, a shy young Moogle runaway who falsified papers to join the workforce. (shh don't tell!).
Status: Rikku is struggling as she feels she failed as a guardian and worse, because she was forced to harm her cousin and cross a line and choose someone to be tortured. She doesn't consider herself to be a hero - never has. She will try to get herself out of this however, she's someone who always tries to find the silver lining. It's just that, she's always done so for others - and most others are now a world away.
Employment: None currently - that's legal anyway. Though she was hired by Cid so work on the airship should be coming soon.
Plans: Plan to participate in the upcoming monthly event.
Desired CR: Any really. Rikku could use some friends, that's really why she's the happy go lucky type - to make others smile. Negative cr is welcome too. She's the type that's easy to get along with as she's very friendly. As she's very much a chatterbox, she may get on the nerves of more serious, grumpy or stoic characters.
Undesired Things: Future FFX revelations.
Shipping: Flirting sure, for shipping Rikku would be hard to pin down.

It's going to be interesting to discover where our newest thread will go.

Rikku is the one he knows the least out of those that were captured back in Esdham and -who knows- if he'd have been more powerful maybe they wouldn't have been caught at all. Never mind the fact he refused/couldn't go with them on the rescue plot, he's got a lot of guilt now lingering because of the dream recently too.

I guess I might ask to pick your brains a little how this might go?

I'm curious too, funny how such polar opposite characters could be struggling with similar guilt issues. I can't really imagine something worse for her than harming Yuna, and she fears the possession could come back given she doesn't really know the how and why of it all other than a dark crystal being involved.

I was considering having Rikku ask Sephiroth if he would help her train. After failing in her duties as a guardian, she wants to find any way she can to get stronger, and he left a big impression on her in their brief encounter. If it's something you're interested in the future we could develop a sort of mentoring relationship between them, he's someone Rikku would look up to.

Otherwise there's a lot of areas we could go if you had any in mind you'd be interested in?

Well at the very least if the topic did come up he knows all about how being out of control and doing bad things makes you feel, having been through that twice now. He takes it worse than most since his self-discipline is one of his strongest traits that he prides himself in.

As for Sephiroth mentoring anyone; I never say no however he's not the mentoring type so it'd take a lot of thought/persuasion for him to step up to taking on a responsibility like that. Within SOLDIER he was very much like that strict teacher that'd wrap your knuckles raw for just putting a foot slightly out of line, that teacher that nothing is ever good enough for. It suited as he was the top of the top then, but he'd not really feel justified having that attitude here since the playing field is more level - but it's a case of that's the only mentoring he's ever done, from a position so far elevated that most of his students were probably too busy being star-struck rather than learning anything. There is a reason why Angeal did most of the mentoring.

And look at my rambling omg.

Safe to say, he'd need a pretty big reality check to come along to make him think that it should be something to do- especially now that since in the dream, his previous self did all the mentoring also...he'd worry about the consequences later on.

It would be interesting to do that (having her talk about being out of control/doing bad things) :) I'll see if I can lead her in that direction without it seeming forced. I do think his calm quiet type would make him the kind of person she'd tend to spill her guts to, even if she made it vague since she's ashamed/vulnerable about it.

It's funny that he mentored, I didn't know that. As it was, I thought he'd be a terrible mentor for the springy, slouchy spastic ball of energy that was Rikku and it sounds like I'm right by his teaching style, she'd drive him crazy. She's about as anti military as you can be. They'd drive each other crazy by the sounds of it. It was really more about her trying to move forwards, and find confidence somewhere. She needs to learn to look for that confidence in herself and that she's not going to get it by mimicing others. And that everyone, even people who seem like they have it as together as Sephiroth carry their own struggles. She would certainly try wholeheartedly though - she throws herself into everything she does, and any kind of training would still help her grow stronger on some level too, so it will benefit her with her goal of becoming a stronger guardian.

Lol don't ever feel shy rambling with me, as you can see, I'm quite good at it myself.

Rikku will bring up the mentoring thing, I'm not sure if she'll be able to persuade him lol, but darnit she'll try.

It's always the quiet ones :p go for it!

You only ever get one glimpse of it in a quick scene in Crisis Core, from Zack's perspective, but it's there :) Certainly sold on at least giving it a try to get the CR to develop that way with Rikku, it'd be amusing at the very least.

Rikku almost gave Terra heart attack. I'm just letting you know that :p But I'd love to see how these to interact more because Terra is more shy than she is open and I can't imagine the effect that Rikku has on her.

She will also try and get more plants and herbs. I figured I'd poke the mods and see what Terra can find for Rikku :D

Hehe, that was just too good to pass up. I don't know anything about Terra really, except I believe she's part Eidolon somehow? That really fascinates me.

As you well know Rikku is great with bringing the shy ones out of their shell ;) and happy to make friends with anyone. I look forwards to interacting with Terra more too. Love that green hair.

Yeah her father was for all intensive purposes a summon and she is dealing with that fact now and it's not going well. But she has a store and kittens to distract her >.<

hahaha, that's okay. Rikku is adorable even when said. But yes feel free to pester Terra. She can only pretend something isn't wrong for so long and Rikku seems the sort to get past her cautious nature.
