— Most importantly, have fun!
1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.
2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.
3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.
4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.
5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.
6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.
7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.
8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.
9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!
10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Cid to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.
11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.
12/ Events of the Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to capture a Chocobo during Crystalis de Chocobo, maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility, or maybe you'd like to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have liked to regain your true power and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles. Or how about participating in Christmas at Crystallis or fighting in a war for the warriors among you?
13/ Wild Card

Mikaela Hyakuya | Seraph of the End
It’s dangerous to fight alone, and Yuu might even call him stupid, but Mikaela can be just as stubborn, in some ways. He could ask the little furball following him around – a Moogle – to change his Job Class to another one that he’s more used to. Or he could learn how to use magic most efficiently, and just be careful not to let any monsters sneak up on him. There’s something very satisfying about striking down monsters from a distance, before they even have time to react.
When he isn’t working, he spends most of his free time fighting those monsters. He isn’t here to make any friends, even if… he doesn’t have the excuse of his vampirism to stay away from all the humans. He hasn’t been in Crystallis long enough to just up and let go of his hatred of them, overnight. At the same time, Mikalea isn’t in a rush to return home, either. What is waiting for him in Japan, except Krul and his vampire life? He is finally human again, for now… His self-loathing has lessened, just a little bit. It’s such a relief, to not have to fight against an overwhelming desire for blood.
He finishes off another group of monster, and his Moogle happily cheers for him, praising his strength. Mikaela turns away from her, even as he disagrees inside his head. Still, he can’t deny that a small part of him feels… humbled by her words. His lips twitch, almost like he wants to smile. He can’t remember the last time he did… it feels like a lifetime ago, a fading memory.

She wasn't outside of the city to fight but to gather more flowers for her shop. She needed the seeds at the very least and while she searched her moogle, Tempest, was keeping an eye on the flowers and kittens back in the city. Delicate fingers reach out towards a flower, plucking it from it's stem when she spots the boy fighting a few yards away.
Terra stayed back feeling a little uneasy but if he was hurt she could at least heal the new hero. She slowly walked forward with a collection of flowers in her arms. There was one daisy tucked in her mint green hair though it didn't look like it was placed there on purpose.
"Excuse me... Are you alright?" She paused. "I mean... I am a white mage, if you need to be healed."
no subject
He could just walk away, instead of answering. Against his better judgment, he shakes his head and decides to answer, “Yes, I’m fine. I have healing magic.” He keeps it as his secondary Job Class, so his dark robes only make his skills as a Black Mage obvious.
Mikaela starts to turn away in search of more monsters, but then points out, “There is a flower stuck in your hair.” His Moogle flies over to admire the flowers in her arms, seeming very excited to see them. Maybe it’s something girls are interested in, not that he would care if Krul liked flowers, or any of the other female vampires.
<3
She can't really reach to see what's in her hair without risking the flowers she had collected in her arms.
"Ah, yes. I was collecting flowers for the shop." She looked up for a moment as if she might be able to see the flower in her hair only to have her gaze shift to the little moogle. She loved moogles and at his moogles's admiring stares she decided to offer her a flower.
"You can have one if you'd like." She has many.
:3
His Moogle, eager to be helpful, picks the one out of her hair. Smiling shyly, she asks, “Can I have this one? Please?”
Mikaela would really prefer to get going… They’ve wasted enough time on idle conversation. Sighing, he looks back and tells his Moogle, “You can stay here with the human… the girl, if you’d like.”
It’s hard to think of himself as actually human, again. Having special abilities like magic, summoning monsters, or unnatural speed, don’t exactly feel human either.
no subject
Her gaze then shifted towards the moogle and with a warm smile she nodded. Taking the daisy from her hair causes the mint green girls to shift and fall over the side of her cheek. Terra smiled at the moogle, keeping her gaze warm and inviting.
"I hope you like it. I believe Daisy's stand for friendship."

She's probably in trouble.

Is that… a person in the middle of the monsters? Are they attacking someone? Eyes narrowing with concentration, he casts a fire spell on the closest monster. As it screeches in pain and moves aside, his suspicions are confirmed. Humans… they’re just as reckless and stupid as he remembers. Never mind his own situation.
Sighing a bit harshly, Mikaela lifts his staff and blasts another monster with a lightning spell this time, stunning it for the girl. Hopefully, she’ll take the hint and hit it with her own weapon.

Fire seems to down them quicker, so that’s the element Mikaela goes back to, for his next target. There is a brief pause between each spellcasting – a limitation that he has to follow, to make sure he doesn’t run out of stamina. Flames explode in the creature’s face, and it starts shrieking and running into its fellow monsters, accidentally setting them on fire.

"This is a bother." He sighed heavily.
Just ahead, Lumen caught side of a boisterous looking lad who just annihilated a group of monsters. Skill like that was hard to come by these days. Speaking of which, Hunter was no where to be found, and neither was his loyal knight Igneous.
"You there!" Mikaela will find himself being summoned.
no subject
Being called by an unfamiliar voice, Mikaela was almost inclined to ignore him. But a tiny, tiny part of him was willing to help, if someone needed it. He looked over in that direction, and sneered just a bit at the sight. Another human. This world was full of them.
He stayed right where he was and lowered the staff down by his side. His response was so utterly friendly; “What do you want.”
no subject
"I wish to implore your skill." He stated simply. Beating around the bush never went anywhere, and this was no time to dilly-dally. Lumen's one defeat to this man's many showed an obvious margin in their abilities.
Where was that moogle anyway.
"It seems I have lost my companion Movvy, as well." Not that they were really companions. The two just met upon his arrival here.
no subject
Because if it was a mission, well, that was more of Yuu’s thing. He was more the type to approach random people and ask them to go on a journey together. Stupid, trusting idiot… For all he knew, they could be axe-murderers. Or even worse, try to use him to their own means.
Mikaela was much more cautious, and tried not to put himself into situations where he would need help. The same didn’t go for other people, and he could just… let them learn a lesson or two.
Against his better judgment, he stayed and asked for clarification; “Your companion… The Moogle?”

She was carrying a small bag of food and was making her way to her own empty home. Of course, it could get a little lonely when the cute girl and her friends disappeared on her. Not that Selen minded. Darres was also in the Crystal and it seemed to remind her that Heroes of Light was merely a title that was used for convenience. She knew that from the beginning.
"Something bothering you?" she mused after a moment of silent thought. She wasn't a mind reader but she could read body language. It came with being an experienced 55 year old ex general of a large military army.
no subject
“No.” And even if there was, he wouldn’t tell someone he just met. His body tenses a little, giving him away. There’s been a lot on his mind lately, many adjustments to make in a short amount of time. His look turns indifferent as he calmly states, “You shouldn’t be walking around here alone.”
Not to disrespect her fighting abilities, but he’s just stating a fact. It seems like she’s passing through on her way somewhere.
no subject
"I certainly hope you are jesting, unless you have a need to slaughter those unfortunate creatures," though she didn't really care about them to begin with. Selen laughed fully this time for that comment, "Dear, I am the last person you should be worried about."
There's a rather smug look on her face for that comment. It's not out of disrespect, she could tell, but she's pretty confident in her skills. She's got years on her back.
no subject
He’s really not interested in guessing this woman’s age or anything. She looks human… He doesn’t care to associate with them. They might have to cooperate on some missions – because Yuu is just too damn gullible and trusting for his own good – but that doesn’t mean they have to be friendly.
“Yes, there is a need,” Mikaela replies dryly, “Unless you didn’t have to gain experience when you first received your Job Classes.” She doesn’t need to worry – he won’t fight her. She’s not a monster, or a training partner.
Smirking, he fires back, “You’re assuming I’m worried about you.” If Yuu was here right now… he might scold Mikaela for being so rude.
(no subject)
don't hafta listen to yuu. :T making my own prompt, here...only jk it's 7
[Clearly, he's awe-struck, but in the best of ways. For just a moment, he might even look like a kid - hands up in excited fists next to his head, eyes lit up, that excited grin basically plastered across his entire face...]
We're actually flying!!! This is pretty cool!
[For just this moment, it's as though every care in the world is just... gone from his mind.]
i don't hafta reply to yuu >T
For now, he lets himself be distracted, looking at his friend with an exasperated expression. Yuu deserves every small bit of happiness, after what he’s suffered through. Flying is kind of neat, Mikaela will admit. They definitely didn’t have the chance to do that at the orphanage. Even vampires can’t fly – they just jump really high, so it feels like flying.]
You’re such a kid, Yuu. [Mikaela gently chides, and then, after a brief worried pause:] Don’t stand too close to the edge. [If the airship tilts just a little bit too far, Yuu could fall over the railing. It isn’t that tall.]
so rood - yuu better reply!
[The last thing Mika says has him looking over at the other teen with lifted brows. Then, he smirks a little.] I've done much worse than this...
[Buuuut after a bit of a pause, he'll be walking over to the other teen with the shrug of one shoulder. Both hands slide into his pants pockets as he gives one more frown.] That just proves my point, though. You've really gotta relax a little...
(nottalking) yuu can sit there and talk to a wall
And that is totally a stupid thing to say to someone who already frets over him. Lips pushing together, he replies with a scowl.] Those humans might not care what happens to you, but I do. If they’re going to use you, the least they can do is take better care of you.
[He’s still looking away. Since they were kids, he has always tried to look out for Yuu and the rest of their family. He is supposed to save Yuu from the humans, after his chance finally comes. He doesn’t know how to feel about Yuu suddenly acting so… protective over him. It’s strange. What has changed between them – something Mikaela doesn’t know about?
Their shoulders touch as Yuu leans toward him. It’s almost funny – ironic – how foreign that feels. He has tried to isolate himself for so long (while escaping Ferid’s wandering hands) that willing contact is something he needs to get used to.
But he doesn’t move away. Not from Yuu. Never from Yuu.]
Don’t worry about me, Yuu. That has nothing to do with what we’re supposed to accomplish here.
YUU CAN GET OUT THEN
YUU FIRST, JERK. THERE'S THE DOOR >T
NO. YUU STARTED THIS!
*KICKS YUUR BUTT*
Because I thought this was a good idea...
He wouldn't have minded having a house to himself but if there wasn't any free space, Rhys could learn to adapt to a roommate again. During college, it wasn't bad having a roommate around even if they may not have been around. That was a very different living style too. Rhys grew use sleeping around a decent sized group of people. His moogle was quietly flying around examining the things already in the house. He had been mildly curious about his roommate and if he encountered the other. Rhys would try to get some information from him. Anything from him make some kind of connection. They didn't need to be friends but company wasn't bad to have.
The man's current Job is an engineer. The salary man has out his puppet of ancient design and is slowly tinkering at it. He wished for new tools or anything technology related. There had to be a way to research a few more things. The ancient design had confused him at first. There was an itch that needed to be scratched. Rhys was good at rebuilding robots and hacking into computers. He needed a technology fix of some kind and maybe he wouldn't feel to be in a somewhat funk. Was it really a funk? That never happens to him. A sigh leaves his lips as he sits back running his left hand through his hair.
it is an awesome idea XD
It helped that Rhys wasn’t a terrible roommate. He respected his privacy, and they didn’t waste words on each other. Their Moogles got along, though that was probably because Shinoa wanted to befriend every Hero and Moogle in sight. Mikaela found him more than tolerable, at least, which he couldn’t say for most everyone else. Their situation in Crystallis was tense, and if Mikaela wanted to get home, he needed to… cooperate, on some level.
He passed by Rhys working on one of his robots, and paused at the doorway, all the while second-guessing his own decision. It seemed like the man was struggling with something. Not that Mikaela knew very much about technology either, given the apocalyptic state of his world. That was part of the slight appeal of Crystallis – experiencing new things.
He debated to just keep on walking, but finally spoke up, “Do you need something?”
XD I'm glad you thought so
His moogle would always treat others with respect but gives Rhys a hard time when he wants to be lazy. Otherwise he's been very helpful to his very strange Hero. The man sat up straight, perking up over hearing Mikaela speak. Rhys took a moment to gather himself before speaking, because he didn't want to stumble over too many words.
"I'm not sure. The technology here is... different from what I'm used to back on Pandora." Rhys' world had advance technology and depending on where you were on his world you did different things.
