— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompts below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!
1/ Welcome To The World Of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a legendary Hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. It's probably time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred very often this past year-- Maybe the characters who have been here for longer than you may help.
2/ Do You Like Your New Life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think it is possible to negotiate with the Calamity, you could even participate in the research on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest of them all in Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible!
3/ Neighborhood Woes...
The government of Aqures Ixen is sorry, but there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there are no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have be living with someone very cool and maybe an artist of great talent lives next door! It's just not likely.
4/ Crystallis De Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.
5/ A Thing Called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite it to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.
6/ A Thing Called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.
7/ I Believe I Can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can also borrow the Heroes of Light's official Airship, the Enterprise and some characters even have their own airship! You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.
8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore the ancient ruins that may hold some precious information in the continent of ruins. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere!
9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!
10/ Getting Jobs Is Hard
It all started when you asked Cid to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe he simply asked you to assist him to clean the laboratory. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.
11/ The World Is Subject To Unrelenting Pain and Suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.
12/ Events Of The Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility or maybe you'd have liked to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have preferred to regain your true powers and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles or chase ghosts for a living. Or how about reliving some of your Worst Memories or fighting in A War for future of the world?
13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

Estellise Sidos Heurassein | Tales of Vesperia
"No, come back Mr. Chocobo!"
It seems one princess has some problems with the Chocobos. Every time she goes near one, it seems to high-tail it in another direction the moment she tries to pet it. If she can't even go near one, how can she ride it? Oh dear, this is really a problem.
"Um, would anyone mind telling me how I can just get near one? Is there a special trick to it?" Asks the young woman who seems to have a thing where animals have an aversion to her. She has a concerned look on her face, really wanting to know how she can get the flightless bird to just behave and not run off. Or attempt to bite her.
5
Writing and reading are two of Estelle's hobbies and the fact that it is a form of communication here makes her very happy. So much that she sends letters to random people when she sees their Moogle about.
'Hello, my name is Estellise. Perhaps we have met, perhaps we have not. I am just writing to you in hopes that you have had a good day. If you have or even if not, perhaps we could meet at some point to chat in person. I would very much so like to do that!'
Of course, she's is writing in hopes she's written a good person, but she would like to think that all people at least have some good in them. If not, she can defend herself. After all, she knows how to use a sword!
Re: Estellise Sidos Heurassein | Tales of Vesperia
Almost.
There was a large part of her that missed her friends back home, the pink-haired princess chief among them. She doesn't even have to read the letter to know that it's Estelle's, the penmanship alone gives it away. Rita can't find paper for a reply fast enough, and when she finally does, the writing is barely legible, if not distinctive.
Estelle! Where are you?
Rita's in such a rush that she forgets to sign her own name, or ask how Estelle is doing her. As far as she's concerned those are both things that can happen once she sees her friend in person, and the sooner the letter gets there, the sooner it happens.
no subject
Though once she opens it, she recognizes the scribbles right away knowing it's from her very best friend. Oh, Rita is here, too? She can barely contain her excitement as she promptly writes back.
I'm in the Tarutaru district, more specifically at the library.
Considering the girl's love for books, she knows Rita will likely not be surprised as she sends the letter on its way back to her, waiting patiently to see if Rita either writes back or decides to show up. Perhaps even both!
4
Either way, seeing Estellise have problems prompted the fellow princess to come to her aid.
"Not all Chocobos are that bad." Twilight responded. "From what I understand, the Chocobo Farm owner has a special lure that can bring a friendly one over. Of course, there are many who want to catch one bare-handed."
no subject
"Though perhaps I should look and invest in one of these lures. That may be my only hope."
Even if she had hoped she would get one just by being her usual friendly self.
no subject
With that, Twilight stepped a little further out and scanned the fields before spotting one. "Hey! Try him. He looks friendly!" she said, using a wing to point out the curious-expressed Chocobo.
no subject
If this kind stranger was going to help her catch and Chocobo (or just help her so she can pet one), she must act on such kindness. Otherwise, it would be rude to believe that all of this was futile. So very cautiously and carefully, the young princess slowly walked up to the Chocobo and reached a hand out to pet him.
And unfortunately the result was the same with all the other Chocobos where it huffed up, flapped its wings in annoyance and trotted off.
"W-why can't I pet any of them?"
Just what was she doing wrong?!
4
Because a cat and a chocobo are way different Erika. Despite this, the short girl scowled deeply.
no subject
But she will not let this one failure get the best of her. "I will pet this Chocobo!" If anything, she was stubborn as she tried for another attempt and... failed.
I'm so sorry for the late tag, my inbox devoured the notif
"You will not get the best of me!" And she tried chasing the chocobo around.
4
"A lure." He said curtly. "From my understanding, you need to buy one. At least, that's how it was on the world where I first saw these creatures."
And then Isa turns to go and leave her. If she has any more questions, she'd better ask fast.
no subject
If it is anything that would aid her in getting one of the Chocobos to actually get near her, then she would do just about anything. They're so cute and they're also very efficient for traveling needs, which is why she really wants one to at least have an affinity towards her.
no subject
4
However, the princess's question gets him to look up. "I don't know if there is one." He shrugs and moves his leg before it falls asleep. "Sitting here and waiting for them to walk by does the trick for me."
no subject
She taps her lower lip in thought, eyes looking up she then cants her head just a little. If that is the way to do it, then what supplies would she need? "I've heard a lure is quite effective in having one come near you -- do you have such a thing on you?"
Unless he's one of those people who has that natural charm with animals. Unlike her.
no subject
"Take some of mine. I bought too many." He reaches into the bag and pulls out a handful of greens. Already a sports them and wanders closer to Duster's hand.
"...Once they get comfortable, you can try petting them."
no subject
Though that doesn't stop her from reaching out to grab the bag from him. Just she feels a little bad for just taking it without him expecting some sort of payment. Then again, she's the same way with some of her natural abilities that can help people, so perhaps she shouldn't speak on other's unconditional kindness.
"I'll have to try that then."
Though part of her is really unsure if it will work. She loves animals, but animals doesn't seem to love her.
no subject
The chocobo that was wandering by the stable takes a step closer to the two and tilts its head, eyeing the bag. It lets out a curious "Wark?"
Duster looks at the chocobo, then at Estelle. "Stay still and hold it out."
4
"Not sure that's the best way to approach a wild animal, Estelle," the long haired man replied approaching her alongside with everyone's favorite pooch, Repede. He's giving her a blank stare, though obviously hadn't done anything to advert himself from her yet.
"You gotta be gentle with it or figure out how to lure it so it doesn't freak out. It's kind of like trying to get a horse to let you ride 'em or something like that," he replied. He's honestly, winging this right now.
no subject
Still, he had a point. "I suppose so. I honestly don't have very much experience with wild animals." Which was a given with her situation, which was why that's all she had to say. Yuri knew her situation and how still most things were new to her despite traveling with everyone for so long.
"But you must know, right Yuri? Can you lure one?" Looking at him, her eyes were bright, hopeful. If anyone knew how to lure an animal it would be him or Judith!
no subject
At least, he hasn't tried to bite her. Yuri would have had a hard time taking care of that mess.
"Wild animals are meant to be wild you know? They're not used to people and chances are they're scared of us more than we are of them."
He replied as he approached the chocobo. Yes, he knew that. Even here, she was subjected to even newer things, like being stripped of their abilities that they had in their own world, and adjusting to something completely different. It was fortunate that they were able to at least have jobs that were close to their original skills.
"Not entirely. I've never taken care of these things before. I've seen other people do it though," he replied, shrugging, "How hard can it be?" he replied as he edged closer to the thing. He wasn't really scared of them and Chocobos were giant birds to him. Repede snorted at Yuri's response.
"Have any idea what it likes to eat?"
no subject
But he really seemed like such a natural as he casually approached the creature and yet it showed no signs of running away like it always did with Estelle. First things first, it made her jealous, but secondly it had her in awe. Of course, she put the older man on a pedestal, though then again, she's seen him shoulder much more than others have and still pull through with that same lop-sided smirk on his face. Perhaps it had something to do with how he had a lot more experience in the world.
However, he did raise a really good question. "I'm honestly not sure what it likes to eat. I will have to look into that."
How silly she hadn't looked into before...

...Was this...real? Estellise? Ellie had never heard of her. It must be someone new, she thought, and she cast a confused frown at Kupozen.
"She seems to be a very...nice...young lady. Outgoing and affable. Perhaps she could use a new friend?"
He wouldn't suggest something like that unless he thought Estellise could be of some use to her plans. Well, why not, she thought with a sigh as she put the letter aside. It was probably to her benefit if she made some acquaintances that weren't dark, brooding, or held questionable morals. She rose to her feet, her long blonde hair braided and pinned up, and asked Kupozen to lead the way. A visit was faster than written correspondence, and she didn't have any plans until late this evening in any case.
Approaching the house where this girl had been assigned to live, Ellie knocked on the door with a few light taps from her gloved knuckles.
no subject
What she had expected was a written letter back. Something of sorts to introduce themselves and then she would have a pen pal! It sounded really wonderful! After all, the young woman loved to write and any excuse to do so, really. However, meeting people was that much more amazing, even if the knock at her door had her looking to it in confusion. She hadn't been expecting anyone, really. Unless it was one of her friends.
Opening the door, she saw the woman on the other side and greeted her with a bright smile.
"Oh, hello! May I help you with anything?"
Of course she wouldn't jump to conclusions, at all about the letter she had sent to the random addressees. Then again, her small world meant that not all viable options were going to come to her at the moment of how someone may respond.
no subject
For a moment Ellie just stood there, a hand on her hip with her other arm relaxed at her side. Well what was she expecting, honestly? Still, this girl practically radiated sunshine and goodness, and suddenly she was glad she'd visited in person -- the less time Kupozen spent around Estellise, the better it was for the princess. Ellie didn't trust her Moogle, but she did need him. So.
"Er...sorry, are you Estellise? My Moogle said this was where the letter came from. I figured it was faster to visit in person." Her accent was slightly reminiscent of Yeager's, though missing the actual German terminology he was fond of adopting.
What was Kupozen thinking? This was the sort of person who would make friends fast. One wrong mistake, one scratch on this innocent, and she'd have even the laziest of heroes hunting for Ellie's head on a pike. In a way, that made Estellise more dangerous than a sleazy spy.
