— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompts below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!

1/ Welcome To The World Of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a legendary Hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. It's probably time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred very often this past year-- Maybe the characters who have been here for longer than you may help.

2/ Do You Like Your New Life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think it is possible to negotiate with the Calamity, you could even participate in the research on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest of them all in Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible!

3/ Neighborhood Woes...
The government of Aqures Ixen is sorry, but there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there are no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have be living with someone very cool and maybe an artist of great talent lives next door! It's just not likely.

4/ Crystallis De Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.

5/ A Thing Called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite it to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.

6/ A Thing Called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.

7/ I Believe I Can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can also borrow the Heroes of Light's official Airship, the Enterprise and some characters even have their own airship! You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore the ancient ruins that may hold some precious information in the continent of ruins. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere!

9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!

10/ Getting Jobs Is Hard
It all started when you asked Cid to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe he simply asked you to assist him to clean the laboratory. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

11/ The World Is Subject To Unrelenting Pain and Suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

12/ Events Of The Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility or maybe you'd have liked to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have preferred to regain your true powers and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles or chase ghosts for a living. Or how about reliving some of your Worst Memories or fighting in A War for future of the world?

13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

Orihime Inoue | Bleach

[personal profile] leekspins 2016-05-03 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Welcome to the World of Crystallis!

[Orihime taps lightly at one of the six-petal hairpins. It's so weird, not being able to feel the tiny spirits connected to her own soul. It's also strange not being able to feel the spiritual presence of a single person around her. Her Moogle gave her the rundown and answered her riot of questions, but there's still a lot she's trying to figure out.]

[Like how she can get the right Jobs to become a Cyborg Ninja. That might be one of her top priorities.]

[She pauses in front of the Crystal of Fire, studying it with quiet curiosity. Her folded hands separate as she reaches out and places her palm on the flat surface. Then her fingers jump back.]

Oh! It's really warm!

[But not in an unpleasant way. She touches it again, a small smile slowly spreading across her face. Neat!]

[After a few moments of silent appreciation, the chestnut-haired girl withdraws and turns around to get a good look at the other Heroes who have also awoken. It seems like the veterans are starting to arrive. Orihime cranes her neck, hoping to see a familiar face, but she's pretty delighted at seeing the really strange-looking people show up too. In fact, the weirder the better. It's not every day she gets to meet someone who doesn't have some sort of human origin at the very least.]

[If no one approaches her first, then she has no problem taking the initiative. Orihime surges forward toward the first friendly person she sees.]

Excuse me! Would you mind showing me how to get to the airships?

[Because that's one of her top priorities too.]

[OOC: I can't actually app Orihime into the game, but heaven knows I've always wanted to. Here for other people to test, or just to play around with for fun. Don't feel obligated!]

[If you could see Dezel's eyes, they would be surprised at the chipper resonance of the stranger's voice.]

You think about finding out where they're gathering at their lowest points?

[he shrugs.]

As far as I can tell, the winds converge south of here.

[He points down the street.]

Or you could just find a way to fly straight up and hijack one in mid-flight.

[Because that's an option for everyone.]
leekspins: (What did you say donut box?)

[personal profile] leekspins 2016-05-09 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
[Orihime nods at his suggestions, slowly at first, then with increasing vigor. Those are really good ideas, and she doesn't want to dismiss any of them! Especially the last one. If only she could fly.]

I think you're right! The one I saw earlier seemed like it was probably headed south.

[Orihime turns her head to follow the direction he's pointing, and when he mentions hijacking an airship, she can't help a short, quick laugh.]

Wouldn't that be amazing?! Mou, too bad I can't fly.

[She huffs a sigh and folds her arms.]

I've never hijacked a ship before, but it sounds like it would be exciting. Ne, have you?
prettyflyforablindguy: (02)

[personal profile] prettyflyforablindguy 2016-05-09 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Out of all the things I've done, I can't say that hijacking a ship has ever been one of them. I've stowed away before, but that was mostly because humans can't usually see me, so paying a fare seemed like a waste of money.

[he tilts his hat slightly.]

Most things seem to be possible in this world, though. If you want to fly, why not look into jobs or skills that may let you manipulate the wind or your weight?
leekspins: (Bow)

[personal profile] leekspins 2016-05-09 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait, really? Are you a spirit?

[THAT catches her interest. Does that mean humans can't see him now? ...No, probably not. He said usually which implies that it isn't the case now. Come to think of it, no one had any problems seeing Rukia here, so it was possible that this man was mortal too. ...If he was a spirit at all to begin with. She smiles as he tilts his hat, and bows in return.]

That's a good point! If there's a job that allows something like that, then that's my next target! I want to master the cyborg ninja first, though.

[Seriously, he has no idea how thrilled she was to wake up with that particular job equipped. How hilarious was that?]

What about you? What kind of Jobs do you have?
prettyflyforablindguy: (09)

[personal profile] prettyflyforablindguy 2016-05-10 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
[Huh, she's not freaking out. Curious.]

You like asking a lot of questions, don't you?

[He ponders what to answer first, crossing his arms]

I'm a seraph. Usually humans can't see seraphim unless they have a high amount of resonance. I guess you could say we're a type of spirit, since we don't age.

Ghostbuster. And Ninja.

[It was a weird combination, to say the least.]
leekspins: (Point laugh)

[personal profile] leekspins 2016-05-10 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
Ah ha ha! I guess so. It's a good way to learn what you don't know, ne?

[She shrugs with a helpless smile. He doesn't seem to really mind answering her questions, right? If he did, he seems like the type who would just refuse outright.]

A seraph? Neat! That sounds about right, then.

[Does that mean 'resonance' is the same as 'spiritual energy'? If so, then that means Orihime would probably be able to see Dezel just fine if he were in his natural habitat. She's about to ask him more about himself before she does a double-take.]

We can be Ghostbusters here?!

[Mind. Blown.]

Wow...and you got to start off with that Job, that's really lucky!
prettyflyforablindguy: (07)

[personal profile] prettyflyforablindguy 2016-05-11 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, if you really want it, you can always put in a request. Might have to do a chore or two, but they tend to not be entirely unreasonable.

So you must have a high amount of resonance, if you're used to seeing weird things nobody else can see.

[Yes, he did just refer to himself as weird.]

Come to think of it, those hair clips you wear seem suitable for being spiritual vessels.
leekspins: (Peek Around the Corner)

[personal profile] leekspins 2016-05-11 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Wow! You're very perceptive!

[She'd be even more impressed if she knew he was blind to boot. Her hand comes up to press one of the six points of her hairpin with her fingertip.]

I can't feel them right now, though. I guess because this world seals away our abilities. But you're right.

[She makes herself perk up with a little smile.]

I grew strong enough to see soul reapers, and Hollows too. ...I'm Orihime, by the way.

[She can't believe she forgot to introduce herself. He's an interesting guy, so much so that formalities completely slipped her mind.]
prettyflyforablindguy: (01)

[personal profile] prettyflyforablindguy 2016-05-12 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Dezel.

[No last name, no title, just a name.]

Did they channel a separate spirit, or just channel your natural latent ability?
leekspins: (Sphere?)

[personal profile] leekspins 2016-05-12 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmmm... I'm not sure. Both, I think? Actually there were six spirits!

[It feels a little strange to be talking openly about her powers like this. But she supposes that the circumstances they're in makes it okay. They're both weird, after all.]

Maybe if I get a customized Job, I'll be able to activate them again. It's the best I can hope for! Ne, what about you, Dezel-san? Did you have any powers before coming here?

[That's what she's really excited to learn about.]
prettyflyforablindguy: (04)

[personal profile] prettyflyforablindguy 2016-05-12 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Six spirits?

[This lady was practically a Shepherd!]

Well, Princess, I was a seraph of wind. I could basically use seraphic artes utilizing wind and read the wind. That's basically about it.

If I made a pact with someone, we could enact the Armatus and fuse temporarily into a single, powerful being wielding the best strengths of both humans and seraphim.
leekspins: (Wait wait wait hold on!)

[personal profile] leekspins 2016-05-12 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
[Princess! A-ah ha ha ha! Orihime smiles sheepishly, a little pleased that he seems to know the meaning of her name, and rubs the back of her neck. But she's probably the farthest thing from a princess. Princesses don't jump out of third story windows to slide down columns, or dream about shooting laser beams out of their cell phones.]

About it?! No, that's amazing! That's really amazing! No wonder you recommended flying!

[She holds up her fists, determined not to let him minimize the coolness of his abilities.]

Then, if you unlocked that power with your custom job, we could fight as a super wind warrior?
prettyflyforablindguy: (11)

orihime has never seen tangled or xena, has she?

[personal profile] prettyflyforablindguy 2016-05-12 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
I guess that's possible?

[He's only armatized with two people total.]

That's the gist of it.

[he shrugs]

So what are reapers like?
leekspins: (Whew!)

Nope! :D

[personal profile] leekspins 2016-05-12 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
We have to try it!

[It would be the coolest thing ever, fighting as one! ...Oh, but maybe she sounds too pushy.]

Ah ha ha...I mean, if you decide to take a custom Job, I'd be happy to try it out with you. It sounds fun! And I'd like to be a better fighter.

[She beams, holding her hands in front of her with a slight hitch of her shoulders.]

They look a lot like samurais. Almost all of them wear black robes, and carry a katana. Soul reapers don't take anyone's lives, they just guide the spirits of those who already died, and exorcise spirits that got turned into Hollows.

[Orihime pauses.]

They're kind of like...monster ghosts. That's the simplest way to put it.
prettyflyforablindguy: (12)

[personal profile] prettyflyforablindguy 2016-05-12 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
Monster ghosts, huh?

[He figures there's more to it than that, but it was the best way she could describe it. No sense in pushing it since it seems like there were mysteries she was still trying to wrap her mind around.]

If I get a custom job, I wouldn't mind trying it out with you. Not everyone is capable of it, but given your spiritual awareness it wouldn't surprise me if you could.

I take it Hollows are a bad thing.
leekspins: (Text message of sadness)

[personal profile] leekspins 2016-05-12 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
Then we'll both have to try out our custom Jobs and see what happens. I can't wait to try it out!

[But first things first: Cyborg Ninja.]

[As for Hollows, her expression turns a little more serious.]

Yeah... It's actually kind of sad. If a spirit lingers for too long in the world of the living, they start to lose themselves, and get consumed by loneliness...anger...fear...that sort of thing. Then they change. Hollows eat other souls. Sometimes they even attack and kill the living. It's not their fault, they're just...lost, I guess.

[Like her brother.]

Anyway, that's why soul reapers are so important. Their swords can purify a Hollow back to the way it was and send them to the Soul Society.
prettyflyforablindguy: (06)

[personal profile] prettyflyforablindguy 2016-05-13 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, sounds similar to the hellions brought on by malevolence in my world.

The way you're describing the Hollows makes me think you were close to one.
leekspins: (Hope)

[personal profile] leekspins 2016-05-13 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Hellions? Are they spirits too?

[His observation gives Orihime a start. She said before that he was perceptive, but the fact that he's able to see that deeply isn't something she's used to. Orihime's always been really good about putting on a cheerful face and shoving her fears, insecurities, and loneliness to the back of her head. There's work to do, and other people that need help more than she does.]

Oh...well...I guess you could say that, ah ha ha...!

[It's not that she doesn't like talking about her brother. She does. She loved Sora, and was incredibly grateful for all he'd done for her. But she didn't like talking about him when he'd been twisted into a Hollow. It seemed like an insult to the memory of the kind person he'd been, sacrificing so much to raise his little sister all on his own.]

[It's tempting to just leave it at that. But...it's the way he said it that makes her consider answering him. He didn't ask any personal questions, nor did he try to dig into something that was deeply intimate. He'd only made his observation, a quiet invitation to speak if she wanted to.]

[She smiles down at her hands as she idly twists one of her fingers. They only just met, and she's already opening up to him this much? Why does he want to know her? And why...does she really want to be known? Maybe it's just nice to have someone see that deeper side of her than the happy dork she usually presents.]

My brother. He was actually strong enough to regain some sense of his old self for a moment. He...

[Orihime lifts her head and her smile brightens.]

He was a really good, kind person. Even when he got turned into a Hollow, he was still my brother. I wish you could have met him, he was so amazing.
prettyflyforablindguy: (04)

[personal profile] prettyflyforablindguy 2016-05-13 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[Dezel practices silence for a moment, absorbing this information.]

Your story reminds me of someone else.

Hellions are what beings can become if they become tainted by malevolence. In the case I'm thinking of, one of my seraph comrade's brother became a hellion to the final stage: a dragon. She still stuck by his side for centuries, warning whoever passed by, because to her he was still her brother, despite never being able to return to being a seraph.

[It felt foreign to him, but Dezel held out his hand and tried putting it on Orihime's. He didn't have a good reason for being nice to a complete stranger. But shoving people away for so long, it was like all that pent-up kindness from before the Sparrowfeathers had to be formed came rushing back into this single moment.]

Experiencing loss is something everyone experiences. It's never pleasant, but it makes us appreciate the fleeting transience of being.

Your continued existence is proof of the man your brother is.
leekspins: (Whew!)

[personal profile] leekspins 2016-05-14 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, she's not used to this. Orihime doesn't freeze or tense up when he touches her hand, but there's a lot more color in her face. She looks up at him, listening as he speaks. He really is a kind person, she thinks to herself.]

[For a moment she hesitates, unsure how to return his gesture. She isn't going to shake him off, or just stand there to make things feel awkward. Finally she decides to lift her thumb, lightly capturing the one laid over the back of her fingers, and smiles. ...Still blushing, though.]

Thanks. And you're right. Life is so uncertain, it's important not to take your time for granted with the people you love.

[Her eyes drop to their hands again as she smiles quietly. Even if that smile is smaller than the ones she flashed earlier, it's far more genuine.]

I'm glad we met. I have a feeling we'll be really good friends, Dezel-san.
