The purpose of this meme is simple: to expand your characters' CR, plot for current & future events and make your characters' lives unnecessarily complicated. Character: [AU] Dylas
Canon: Rune Factory, but now he looks like a monster thanks to Ryslig.
Info: Dylas is socially clumsy and awkward. He's dishonest about his own feelings. Usually, this is coupled with confidence and a competitive nature, but being ripped from one world to another world that doesn't have 'monsters' like him has him feeling awful. He's done some horrible things in his old game.
Job(s): Vampire, Monk
Housing: B-08, but he's never there. I'm handwaving him doing small odd jobs so he can stay at an inn, sharing space with people isn't something he'd be comfortable doing right now.
Other Housing: None.
Moogle: Koporo, a male Moogle who sticks to the shadows and likes to sneak around. He's worried about Dylas, but he also really likes having fun, so they're sort of not getting along well.
Status: He's ignoring most of it, and he's telling himself he doesn't care what happens to this world. Once he realizes other worlds are at risk, he might give more of a damn, but he's just trying to adjust to. Well. Ryslig things that are better explained in his permissions post.
Employment: I put in asking if he can be a fish merchant, but if that falls through he's going to be a cleaner.
Plans: I'm going to simultaneously embarrass him and give the other Heroes of Light something fun to worry about (maybe). Look forward to a post. It might even be up today.
Desired CR: Anything. Persistent CR works best, but getting him to calm down will be a priority so just having him talk to people is helpful.
Undesired Things: Can't think of anything.
Shipping: I'd be open to it, but he's...a 7'5" deer monster.

I'd love for Akane to wear him down into MAGICAL FRIENDSHIP. How to make it happen, I'm not entirely sure, but I'm so down for plotting out situations for the occasion. Then she can work on trying to coax him to come back to the house (don't leave her alone with Kadaj!). Dorky scenes are fine, as are serious conversations for either side.

I'm working on a situation where his Moogle desperately tries to trick Heroes of Light into looking for him and bothering him while he's working in the middle of the night! Is that something Akane would be into? I also think you're Chrom's player, I kind of want to keep tagging him because I feel bad about how Dylas treated him, haha.

Yup, Chrom is mine too! He's pretty respectful of other people's personal space, so if Dylas says to back off, he actually will. No hard feelings there!

And she might... I'm assuming she knows to match his name and face, yes? Maybe she can go looking for him and entreat him to come home now that he has his own room and/or run into street thugs because why the hell is she walking alone at night that's dangerous.

I would think so! I imagine their Moogles could have spoken and maybe hers could have explained they had a new tenant who wasn't showing up.

Dylas actually doesn't stay in the apartment, forcing him in there would have been too OOC for me to have him do, so he stayed outside until he found enough odd jobs to start staying at an inn. He doesn't really know Akane and probably won't move in unless he has his own room, which I doubt he does since he was the last to move in.

Then I'll have to figure out another way to get them to meet for real. So then Santa will get his ass kicked in real life instead of in meme-land.

so now that they're getting along so great, edna will actually start to be a little sympathetic thanks to that blow up. is there anything she could do in particular that wouldn't immediately turn dylas off?

edna's brother actually went all monster on her over a period of time. she was one of the few that clung to the idea that he still held onto his "humanity" (they aren't technically humans) even when he fully transformed into a dragon... so she's drawing stupid parallels all over the place on this one.

Also there's not a whole lot of info on his turning, but I use she says like "even my voice no longer reaches you ..." etc etc to interpret what happened, so pardon the slight headcanon-ish cobwebs...!

I'm actually kind of drawing a blank on how to force friendship on them. It'd be easy if they were paired together for some sort of random thing, but creating an opportunity like that is hard. If she witnessed him doing something nice (for her, even, if she were in danger), that might help since it'd show a nicer side of him for a few seconds.

Hmm. Just trying to brainstorm here, but how do you feel about them getting sort-of-stranded somewhere together? Would Dylas be the sort to leave her to her own devices if she was somehow caught outside of the city walls at night (and needing to recover MP!) or something and forced to camp?

He does his monster fighting at night, so. Yeah. His better nature won't let someone be hurt around him, though he'll probably try to set up a camp for her and then just watch over from somewhere else. It'll be super tsundere.

Actually, I think he'd feel immediately comfortable with her because she isn't human, so they should definitely meet again. I'd even be willing to handwave them meeting once or twice again on the street and being sort of okay with each other if you want to jump start CR a bit? For them, I think it'd just be natural snark that ends with dylas being like "s-shut up baka", etc.

i am also totally cool with that! if it's not to ancient for you either i plan to get back to their intro thread too. he can expect snide remarks, goading, and general eye rolling at the expense of all mention of "heroes" during these passing-bys.
