If anyone knew Squall... he actually cared for his moogle very much. Made sure she slept, ate properly, was warm and listened to her whispers in his ear privately (she wasn't a loud talker). He'd never hurt her. (Though some swatting to shoo away her cuddles was something he did do.) So he felt mildly insulted.
But Squall felt no reason to explain himself to a total stranger.
He walks away to the other side of the deck. His moogle peeked out from his collar and waved to Jade as if to say “thank you for the nut!” with a happy squeak.]
