— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompts below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!

1/ Welcome To The World Of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a legendary Hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. It's probably time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred very often this past year-- Maybe the characters who have been here for longer than you may help.

2/ Do You Like Your New Life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think it is possible to negotiate with the Calamity, you could even participate in the research on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest of them all in Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible!

3/ Neighborhood Woes...
The government of Aqures Ixen is sorry, but there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there are no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have be living with someone very cool and maybe an artist of great talent lives next door! It's just not likely.

4/ Crystallis De Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.

5/ A Thing Called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite it to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.

6/ A Thing Called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.

7/ I Believe I Can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can also borrow the Heroes of Light's official Airship, the Enterprise and some characters even have their own airship! You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore the ancient ruins that may hold some precious information in the continent of ruins. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere!

9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!

10/ Getting Jobs Is Hard
It all started when you asked Cid to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe he simply asked you to assist him to clean the laboratory. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

11/ The World Is Subject To Unrelenting Pain and Suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

12/ Events Of The Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility or maybe you'd have liked to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have preferred to regain your true powers and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles or chase ghosts for a living. Or how about reliving some of your Worst Memories or fighting in A War for future of the world?

13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

Baron Humbert von Gikkingen | The Cat Returns

[personal profile] myspecialblend 2016-08-21 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
One

The Cat Bureau could do many wonderful things, but he was fairly certain being transported to an entirely new world such as this was not one of its many talents. The Cat Kingdom was situated in a place specifically connected to Earth, such were many worlds like it. But not quite like Chrysallis. It was rather alarming, Baron had to admit. But there was no use getting in a panic when his new companion was quite willing to explain everything to him.

"Thank you kindly for the information, er, Momo, was it?"

"Oh, yes, kupo, and you're very welcome!" The moogle said, sighing slightly in adoration. She didn't think her new companion would but that size or quite so dashing! Even if he wore the Sage's outfit, the way he carried himself as Baron had listened intently to her explanation, the way he carried his staff as though he were used to such a thing and he even had a title! Baron Humbert von Gikkingen! Why, were he a moogle, she'd probably be in love!

Not that Baron took any notice, at the moment. Instead, he set about exploring this new place. He also wondered, idly, if Haru managed to get herself in this sort of predicament as well. He also saw no signs of Toto or Muta.

Three

While being small was generally not a problem for Baron, he was used to having his friends around for assistance when it came to times where height would be beneficial. It seems this place was built for humans sized individuals. Thankfully, Momo was more than kind enough to give him a lift so he would not need to scale the stairs and try to find a way to get the door open.

"Well, it appears I am the only here at the moment," Baron remarked as they entered the empty house. Or was it? "Are you sure this is the place?"

"Quite! I'm sure they're just out running errands, kupo."

"I see," He placed a hand to his chin in thought, no doubt his room would be of a similarly large size. This wouldn't do at all, but evidently there are no more places for him to go. Perhaps he would simply use this place temporarily until something much more accommodating could be found or built. "Right then, let's see what this home looks like."

Six

Even if the Mognet wasn't on strike, Baron felt it would probably be proper to use the public board for this sort of thing, rather than filling everyone's home with a letter that was essentially an advertisement. Momo may have been on strike, but she was still useful in getting Baron up there and pinning a letter there.

To any who are familiar in building homes,

I would like to hire your services. Unfortunately, the magicks that brought me here did not see fit to also insure that I can reasonably live in such a place. Alas, I am much smaller than anyone here, about the size of a moogle, really. The homes provided are, unfortunately, quite large.

If there are any out there who are can build a home fitting for someone such as myself, it would be greatly appreciated and, of course, I would be paying you for your time and labor.

Three

House Shenanigans The large house where Rukia lived was spacious indeed. However, despite having five people (and one dog) living there already, it was very clean and well kept. Cupboards were labeled with each person's name, with the sixth spot empty with a blank strip of masking tape covering the previous resident's name.

Then Rukia ghosted through the front door in a very literal way.

Wearing her black shinigami robes, she stopped short when she saw there was a Moogle in the room she didn't recognize. Finding Baron took her a moment longer. She glanced between them, clearly surprised.

Finally, a roommate shorter than Rukia herself.

"Oh, good afternoon," she greeted the pair politely. "I wasn't aware we would be receiving anyone new. I would have been here earlier." She placed a hand upon her chest. "Rukia Kuchiki."

Baron stood on the arm of the couch as he had conversed with Momo, but his eyes widened slightly at Rukia's entrance. However, Baron wasn't one to scare easy and the girl was awfully polite as soon as she saw him. He removed his cap and gave her a bow in turn, straightening shortly after and rest his staff next to him like a cane.

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance Miss Kuchiki, I am Baron Humbert von Gikkingen. Many simply call me Baron. No need to trouble yourself with your late arrival, I'm sure the news simply hadn't traveled fast enough."

He placed both hands on his staff as he looked about. At least this place was well kept. But he simply hoped his room would be on the first floor. He didn't want to appear as though he were taking advantage of Momo, after all. "This has been happening for quite some time, I've been told. How long have you been here, Miss Kuchiki?"

She was quite pleased with this smaller Hero's manners. Having someone polite and well-spoken in the house would go over well with Rukia at the very least. "One year, actually." She blinked, surprised as she realized it truly had been that long. ...Huh.

"Baron is it? Very well," she folded her arms with a satisfied smile. "You're correct. It seems to happen regularly, every two months." She held up two fingers to back up her statement. He might have seemed small and cute, but Rukia had every intention of treating him as an equal peer. Good thing he was a cat, and not a rabbit.

"I'm afraid the only room spot available is shared with Raven. However, if you wish we might be able to set up something elsewhere should you require privacy." In that regard, his smaller size might come in handy. "If there are any accommodations with which you would require assistance, please ask."
