— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompts below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!

1/ Welcome To The World Of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a legendary Hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. It's probably time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred very often this past year-- Maybe the characters who have been here for longer than you may help.

2/ Do You Like Your New Life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think it is possible to negotiate with the Calamity, you could even participate in the research on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest of them all in Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible!

3/ Neighborhood Woes...
The government of Aqures Ixen is sorry, but there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there are no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have be living with someone very cool and maybe an artist of great talent lives next door! It's just not likely.

4/ Crystallis De Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.

5/ A Thing Called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite it to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.

6/ A Thing Called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.

7/ I Believe I Can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can also borrow the Heroes of Light's official Airship, the Enterprise and some characters even have their own airship! You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore the ancient ruins that may hold some precious information in the continent of ruins. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere!

9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!

10/ Getting Jobs Is Hard
It all started when you asked Cid to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe he simply asked you to assist him to clean the laboratory. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

11/ The World Is Subject To Unrelenting Pain and Suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

12/ Events Of The Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility or maybe you'd have liked to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have preferred to regain your true powers and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles or chase ghosts for a living. Or how about reliving some of your Worst Memories or fighting in A War for future of the world?

13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

Clearly someone needed to show Irvine it could be all math too, but it wouldn't be Zell.

"Yeah," Zell replied in a rather unusual subdued voice. But then his voiced raised, obviously forcing himself to try sounding a little more normal. "Ah, I've been here before. I mean, I've been here the whole time, sorta. For the past year and a half or so. I just wasn't... awake for it all." If he could call it that. Being asleep sure was a lot easier to take than being in that crystal stasis.

"The people here are nice," he agreed. "There's still some bad guys to worry about. Imprisoning and torturing and stuff, but there's a lot of us to fight against it!" On top of the whole crystalization thing.

dirtymagazining: conversation (I felt free)

[personal profile] dirtymagazining 2016-08-23 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
"You're not what I'd call Sleeping Beauty, Zell," he offered helpfully. But sleeping, was it... That was a bit worrisome. He was going to assume it was something weird to this world and not a more worrying coma. Because this world was plenty weird. He could believe in randomly falling asleep until true love's first kiss, etc.

"You sound like you've lost sight of the the goal though. What about getting back to Garden? They like, need us there. Things are changing every day."

And SeeD needed to be there to answer the challenges of the new world emerging.

"It wasn't sleeping. Tch, I gotta show it to you." Better to know about it and try to avoid it? Not like it really did Zell much good. Maybe he just wanted Irvine to understand?

He shook his head at Irvine's other comments though. Even if they knew how to go back, "the goal's changed! Look, this Calamity is serious! If we don't stop it here, it'll go to our worlds and there ain't gonna be a Garden to go back to! You just gonna go back and let that happen?!"

"Cool it down. No one's saying to let this calamity keep trashing everything." Always like Zell to yell and get worked up. But the world wasn't black and white this is good and that's bad, go get 'em, yeehaw. And he kind of liked it that way because it'd be dull otherwise. But it did make things complicated.

"Like you said, there's plenty of people here. Why do they need us when they've already got so many bodies? You didn't let it slip your mind this is kidnapping, did you."

There was definitely no volunteerism involved in this mission.

Irvine may be his friend, but he really didn't understand him. Knowing what was going on, why wouldn't he at least try to help?! "No one knows how we're brought here." Not to mention that Zell didn't arrive in a normal way. "It's been years and no one knows how to get back either. There might have been some people who tried. But almost everyone knows the Calamity's a bigger threat! No matter how many people are brought, we need all the help we can get!"
dirtymagazining: argue (I am somewhat human)

[personal profile] dirtymagazining 2016-08-24 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah years! What about our friends back in our world? You okay with not seeing your ma again?" He wasn't. He sure as hell wasn't! ...Well not about Zell's ma, Mrs. Dincht was a nice lady, but they weren't that familiar. He definitely wouldn't want Zell to die in some far off world where he couldn't even get word back to her about her son's demise though. Every parent deserved some sort of closure. Just having your child up and disappear... It had to be painful.

And Irvine had his own friends to worry about. Both, back at Galbadia and Balamb Gardens. And of course there was Matron who had to deal with the fallout from being the dreaded sorceress. He didn't want to leave her to face that without her kids. So a little uncharacteristically his hand slammed on the counter.

"I am thinking about this Zell! It's no storybook! You have to know if you want to do this of course I'll back you up. But I've got some reservations. Can you blame me?"

Zell froze when he heard mention about his ma, but it was the slam he heard against the counter that had him sharply look back to Irvine and stand, hands in fists. "YOU THINK I AIN'T THINKIN' ABOUT IT?!"

A complete slave to his emotions, his frustration turned into a type of anger. Three months into theif, he was able to move quicker than Irvine and he used it to close the distance between them to grab his taller friend's coat. "I SAW SQUALL DIE! No, I EXPERIENCED it! It was the same way Ellone's powers worked! I dunno if it was a different time or dimension or WHAT, but it was still a Squall! He'd been here for years and not once did he see ANY of us 'til it looked like crystal versions tryin' to attack him, yet he still fought to prevent the Calamity!"

Zell let go of Irvine, hand falling down to his side to clench into a fist with the other one, body slightly shaking. He looked down. "But no one knew enough. They failed and their worlds were destroyed! Their spirits didn't have anywhere else to go, so they stayed here. He's alive now, but he's a local, he's got no memory of anything from home or what he did. I-I know it's probably some different dimension or whatever since we're all here and alive now, but I can't just forget experiencing that!"

He looked back up at Irvine, frustration and anger and determination all showing in his eyes and expression. "I ain't gonna let that happen again! I ain't gonna see anyone else die because of it! I'm gonna protect my ma and everyone back at Garden from bein' wiped out of existence, and I ain't gonna let any one of us become a local here!"

[personal profile] dirtymagazining 2016-08-24 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
Irvine tensed at the grab, but he didn't fight it. He could understand Zell was upset. He had every right to be. But so, did Irvine feel, did he himself. So he wasn't exactly less than recalcitrant when Zell let go.

"How many worlds are we supposed to worry about Zell? There could be a billion of them!"

They couldn't save them all. Was it wrong that Irvine wanted to save their own? Maybe so. But he also didn't want to end his life out here years, decades even, fighting this unknown force and never truly knowing if he made a difference.
loudestseed: (pout glare)

[personal profile] loudestseed 2016-08-25 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
"And ours is one of them! I don't wanna just go back and wait for the end! I gotta... do something!" He shook his head and his expression dropped. Clearly he gave up on trying to convince Irvine. "You wanna find a way back and forget this ever happened, fine, but I ain't going."

He crossed his arms again before turning away to try and find a room he could claim. He was still pissed, still frustrated, but now he was also kind of sad. Admittedly, he wanted his friends here, helping him fight this new threat. He knew he could make friends here too; in fact, he felt he already had. But it wasn't the same. He was already really close to the other five from his home. After all they went through... they'd saved their world together! Zell knew they could do it again!
