— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompts below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!

1/ Welcome To The World Of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a legendary Hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. It's probably time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred very often this past year-- Maybe the characters who have been here for longer than you may help.

2/ Do You Like Your New Life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think it is possible to negotiate with the Calamity, you could even participate in the research on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest of them all in Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible!

3/ Neighborhood Woes...
The government of Aqures Ixen is sorry, but there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there are no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have be living with someone very cool and maybe an artist of great talent lives next door! It's just not likely.

4/ Crystallis De Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.

5/ A Thing Called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite it to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.

6/ A Thing Called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.

7/ I Believe I Can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can also borrow the Heroes of Light's official Airship, the Enterprise and some characters even have their own airship! You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore the ancient ruins that may hold some precious information in the continent of ruins. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere!

9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!

10/ Getting Jobs Is Hard
It all started when you asked Cid to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe he simply asked you to assist him to clean the laboratory. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

11/ The World Is Subject To Unrelenting Pain and Suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

12/ Events Of The Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility or maybe you'd have liked to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have preferred to regain your true powers and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles or chase ghosts for a living. Or how about reliving some of your Worst Memories or fighting in A War for future of the world?

13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

[Keith whipped around and looked up . . .and up. . . and up again! He met a wall of silver and black that sent an ache of nostalgia through him, but the the green eyes helped smack that sentimentality back where it belonged. He had to hold back the reflexive twitch of his hand to salute, though he still ended up straightening to a relaxed parade rest. More than a year after getting kicked out of Garrison and he still had the ingrained response to salute when called to order. His puppet, for some reason, did not get the memo and nearly smacked itself in the head as it snapped to attention. He frowned in confusion, and slight concern, at the small machine before glancing back at the officer.]

A . . .little. I'm looking for transportation out of the city. I was told that aside from the airships the best way to get around is something called . . chick. . cobos?

[The snap-movement of the puppet nearby caught Sephiroth's attention but it was only a quick flick of a glance before he looked back over the -had to be late-teens- boy before him. Thick black eyelashes lowered minutely, unsure at the moment what to think of this one. Crime wasn't so much on the up, despite the swollen population of the city, but for exactly that reason anything suspicious had to be watched for carefully.]

Chocobos. [A slight correction, but in itself an indication that Keith isn't a natural denizen; he could be a Hero of Light?]

The farm is a little ways out of the city, south-west. You...you're a new arrival to Crystallis, aren't you?

Right, chocobos.

[Any attempt at blending in was shot after that correction, but he wasn't exactly trying to lay low to begin with. After essentially being an alien visitor to several planets he was used to sticking out like a sore thumb where ever he went. In fact, it was bit shock to walk around a city and see so many people that actually looked human. He didn't like to dwell on how that made him feel less comfortable than it should.

His paladin armor may have been swapped for solid plate mail, his bayard for some weird gun/blade hybrid, and his red (so fierce and powerful and did she miss him as much as he missed her?) lion for a toddling puppet, but he was no less than he was. He was a paladin of voltron and a defender of the universe. He may have lost his comrades and his friends, but he still had his mission. So as much as it rankled him to ask for help from this man who reminded him uncomfortably of his former instructors, it was worth it if it got him one step closer to figuring out just what the hell happened to land him so far from his lion and the castle.]

I am new. I woke up in the plaza after getting separated from my team. I need to get back to them as soon as possible.

[He fingered the air around his waist in a nervous tic, gritting his teeth when he failed to find the assuring weight of neither his dagger nor his bayard. He could use the sword strapped to his back well enough, but it made him feel uncomfortable to have such limited options for defense. Maybe he should have stuck around for that explanation at the plaza instead of rushing off to find these birds?]

[A moment of something-close to empathy crosses Sephiroth's otherwise stern expression as Keith explains and then, almost as if to back it up, takes on more of a nervous disposition. He wouldn't be blamed for being made to feel ten-inches tall, often the tall silver haired warrior had that effect on people who didn't know him.

But it's gone just as soon as it slipped onto his face.]

I'm afraid that it's not as simple as just finding your way back-

[He cast a glance around, as if looking for someone. In fact, it should have been for Keith's moogle to explain what -clearly- Sephiroth is going to have to put forward now.]

-all universes hang in the balance, here.
i_want_to_believe: (Skeptic)

[personal profile] i_want_to_believe 2016-10-28 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Universes? As in plural?

[He paused at that statement, eye brows furrowing as he tried to make sense of it. The man in front of him looked too put together to have slips of the tongue and the gravity of his voice showed great care was taken with his words. That, was not a level of seriousness he was expecting. He was already thrown into a war against a 10,000 year empire for the sake of one universe, how the hell had he stumbled into the role of saving more than one of these things. Were universes supposed to be this fragile? Before he could open his mouth to figure out just what was going on a squeaky voice cut through the air.]

Mr. Kogane! Mr. Kogane! I found the elbow grease you sent me to find! Who'd have thought that puppet joints required such specialized care? You must be a real thorough hero to know how to maintain your gear just after waking up!

[A small moogle wearing a red scarf and a helmet fluttered to the frozen paladin at record speed. In his hands laid the presumed jar of elbow grease, the result of what was supposed to be a dead end errand. What the heck was up with this place that a first year hazing ritual actually had results here?]

That's great. . . um, little guy. Thanks.

[The small stuffed animal squeaked with pleasure. Keith didn't know how the little creature wasn't embarrassed, but he sure was feeling enough of it to cover both of them. He glanced between the vibrating with joy animal and the stern man in silver. He had a feeling that this conversation might be about to go the same way the one with Commander Iverson did when he caught Keith sneaking back in after curfew.]

[Elbow grease?

The arrival of Keith's moogle brought an abrupt stop to the conversation about the state of play in Crystallis, in entirely moogle fashion. Perhaps unexpectedly given the stern demeanor of the tall silver haired man, a light smile creased it's way across the lower part to Sephiroth's face as he once more looked from moogle to puppet, and then back to the new Hero of Light before him.

It seems he understands well, without being told, what Keith had tried to pull off and had backfired on him.]

Ah, so you have Engineer. [A little obvious, perhaps, but it is job that Sephiroth also holds even if he hasn't ever done very much with it.]

This is-? [Sephiroth prompts the moogle to give his name over, regretting for the time being that he doesn't have Spencer with him today - the small nerd-moogle is incredibly well connected within the mog community and might well have known this one.]

[The little moogle puffed up in pride at being acknowledged, shooting up nearly a foot with his flapping wings.]

I'm Mogleo, the newest moogle appointed to the newest warrior of light, Keith Kogane! He was in such a hurry to get started with his new duties, that he rushed off before we could finish introducing ourselves.

[Keith was glaring at the moogle out of the corner of his eye, silently willing him to to shut up before he dug the hole any deeper. Why did he keep attracting all these talkative people's attention? Did he drown kittens in a past life or something?]

I don't know what you mean by engineer. I'm pilot class.
shinrasfinest: (Peer down at)

[personal profile] shinrasfinest 2016-11-07 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sephiroth can easily imagine Spencer smacking Mogleo around the back of the head with a heavy tome of some sort. These kind of moogles, those over-enthused types, strained the patience of his own moogle companion perhaps even more-so than what Sephiroth had simply grown used to over the years he's been here so far; a certain friend of his had softened his resolve a lot.

So many of them got over-excited at being allocated to a Hero, without really giving much depth of thought as to the task they'd been given. The silver haired hero curled his arm up and hid a quite chuckle within his hand. What a pair. At the same time, not quite unlike how he'd been in the beginning.

A curt nod to the moogle and those gleaming green eyes with their slit-pupils were locked on Keith again.]

A pilot? The only pilot Job I know about would be the advanced, Mecha pilot job- [Another sharp look at Mogleo-] -which has to have Engineer.

Mogleo should be able to tell you, for sure. Along with a great deal about the circumstances here.
