— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompts below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!

1/ Welcome To The World Of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a legendary Hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. It's probably time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred very often this past year-- Maybe the characters who have been here for longer than you may help.

2/ Do You Like Your New Life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think it is possible to negotiate with the Calamity, you could even participate in the research on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest of them all in Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible!

3/ Neighborhood Woes...
The government of Aqures Ixen is sorry, but there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there are no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have be living with someone very cool and maybe an artist of great talent lives next door! It's just not likely.

4/ Crystallis De Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.

5/ A Thing Called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite it to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.

6/ A Thing Called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.

7/ I Believe I Can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can also borrow the Heroes of Light's official Airship, the Enterprise and some characters even have their own airship! You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore the ancient ruins that may hold some precious information in the continent of ruins. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere!

9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!

10/ Getting Jobs Is Hard
It all started when you asked Cid to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe he simply asked you to assist him to clean the laboratory. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

11/ The World Is Subject To Unrelenting Pain and Suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

12/ Events Of The Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility or maybe you'd have liked to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have preferred to regain your true powers and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles or chase ghosts for a living. Or how about reliving some of your Worst Memories or fighting in A War for future of the world?

13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

[Good thing for Ales that Tieria was only around 5'10". He was the shortest on his own crew back home now that Setsuna was a full-grown adult.]

I suppose.

[He sighed.]

I do not plan to remain in this world longer than is necessary.

[Tieria had goals, and the main one was getting home, so that meant completing all the steps to finish this 'quest' he'd been dragged into. He turned back to look over the clouds. Airship newbie or not, he gave the impression that being high in the air didn't bother him in the least.]

[personal profile] umslay 2016-12-13 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
By "necessary" you mean when the Calamity has been defeated, right? Because there's no way of going back until then.

[And his cheery demeanor falters, leaving behind a deadpan look. Keeping up that smile got really tiring the past year.]
vedaandme: angry, season 1, pilot (I Hate You)

[personal profile] vedaandme 2016-12-13 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[He nodded. That was exactly what he meant.]

I am aware.

[And his voice betrayed his frustration over being essentially stuck in a strange place with no one from his own team, and no way to get back.]

I have a mission back home, as well. Being here only keeps me from that.

[Someone had a strong sense of duty.]
umslay: (you're welcome)

[personal profile] umslay 2016-12-13 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ales shrugs.] I wouldn't worry about it too much. We were able to briefly return to one of our words recently, and some of them were frozen in the exact moment the Hero left them. Time passed for others, but...eh, what can you do?

[If Tieria was frustrated, Ales did not care at all about his own situation or others'.]

If you're angry, you can always take out your anger on monsters. Biggs loves it when we do anything productive.
vedaandme: angry, snobby, season 1, civilian (Hmph)

[personal profile] vedaandme 2016-12-14 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
[Tieria raised an eyebrow at that. Frozen in time? Making it like he never left, then?

...

Interesting.]

I'd like to be as productive as possible.

[Though, going around and taking out random monsters wasn't really as productive as it might sound. There had to be a strategy to these things if they wanted to "save the world".]
umslay: (magic)

[personal profile] umslay 2016-12-14 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Productive can mean many things. Depends on your strengths. Take me for example: not the type to run out and fight monsters unless it's to harvest crystals, but put me in a mecha or a lab, and I'm genius!

[Ego, much?]

And you, ah...let me guess, you're more of the politician sort?
vedaandme: neutral, season 1, civilian (I See You)

[personal profile] vedaandme 2016-12-14 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
[He shook his head.]

Hardly.

[His thoughts focused on what Ales said, though.]

You pilot mecha?
umslay: (you're welcome)

[personal profile] umslay 2016-12-14 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Airships, mecha, personal minicopters - that I designed and built myself - anything that has to do with machines.

[He holds a hand over his heart. If Tieria is interested, all the better reason for Ales to impress him.] I'm a Teensie of many talents. Not one human can claim to all that!
vedaandme: snobby, season 1, civilian (Why Yes I Am Better Than You)

[personal profile] vedaandme 2016-12-14 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[Tieria huffed a little, almost haughty in his response.]

You might be surprised.

[He was no where near as open about his own experiences as Ales was, as it was hard to shed the habit of secrecy that Veda and Celestial Being had hammered into the very foundation of his being, but he was vaguely a little curious just how much 'skill' this person had. Though, Ales comment about humans specifically might be true, not that Tieria hadn't met some very capable humans in his time being active, Tieria's own skills were quite varied by this point in his existence. However, he wasn't exactly human, either.]
umslay: (thinking)

[personal profile] umslay 2016-12-14 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh?

[If this human - he is certain Tieria is one - is an expert in machinery, Ales has to know. Working alone without others interfering has its benefits, but serious scientists and engineers are different. They can accomplish more together. They can build better war airships. They can revolutionize the world.

...He's getting ahead of himself again.]

Like what, for example?
vedaandme: sad, season 1, pilot (Sigh)

[personal profile] vedaandme 2016-12-14 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Any pilot needs to be capable of split second decisions with an awareness of tactical soundness. Any mechanic needs to know how to operate the machinery they work on. [Tieria knew he was being general, but he wasn't ready to trust someone enough to reveal that much about himself, yet.] In combat situations, a lack of peripheral knowledge and skill can mean disaster, failed missions, and loss of life. [The last part was said with a dark undertone that almost screamed of personal experience, the haughty attitude fading into something that was sadder, darker, and almost nostalgic.]
umslay: (thinking)

[personal profile] umslay 2016-12-14 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ales would be indignant if Tieria wasn't right. Of course he knew how to do all that, what did he take him for? If he didn't advertise his skills up front, no one would trust the adorable little Teensie with important tasks. Being recognized was better than being thought of as never amounting to anything.

And there was the whole thing about promising Lydia to reach out to others more often. That means being open and learning about each other.]

So you're saying you're more of a soldier? Impressive. [Said without irony as he folds his arms.] I'm self-taught, so I've more of the technical side of everything.
vedaandme: neutral, season 1, civilian (I See You)

[personal profile] vedaandme 2016-12-14 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[Soldier was one way of putting it, though Tieria never was a part of any official military. Still, it was easier to just agree to that than to explain Celestial Being in detail. So, he nodded.]

You could say that.

[He had other more technical skills from home, and used to have a few extra-human abilities, but he wasn't quite sure just how much of that he wanted to share. There was also the fact that his extra-human abilities were pretty much null and void thanks to this Hero of Light and Job assignment thing going on here.]

Are your skills from back home or did you develop them here with the technology that's available?

[Because that was key as well. The technology level here and how it was integrated with other more fantastical elements was something Tieria wasn't used to. His world was more scientific and advanced than a world that integrated magic with almost steam age level mechanical options.]
umslay: (magic)

[personal profile] umslay 2016-12-14 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
From home. I've picked a few things while living here, but my expertise comes from years of study. While we do have airships in my world, they're few and far between. I designed my own based off of existing blueprints, and the airships here aren't too different.

[He closes his eyes and briefly tilts his head to the side.]

They run on completely different energy sources.
vedaandme: (Neutral Expression)

[personal profile] vedaandme 2016-12-15 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
The energy sources here are different from what we use back home as well.

What do you use?
umslay: (you're welcome)

[personal profile] umslay 2016-12-15 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Lums.

[A pause. Let Tieria have a moment of confusion.]

There's these balls of energy that normally form around the Heart of the World, but they can appear just about anywhere that's got magical energy. It's common for anyone to just grab one for their own personal immediate use, which is a shame, really, when you consider just how much power they harness when used right.
vedaandme: (Intrigued)

[personal profile] vedaandme 2016-12-15 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
[There was definitely confusion. More magical energy. He took that moment to absorb it as best he could. It was still something he was getting used to here.]

I see.

We use solar energy where I am from.
umslay: (thinking)

[personal profile] umslay 2016-12-15 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[There's a moment where Ales searches for the meaning of solar energy. Ah, that's right. Johnny had something that could draw power from the sun.]

The thing with those panels, right? How do those work?
