1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.

2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.

3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.

4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.

5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.

6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.

7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.

9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!

10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

12/ Events of the Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to capture a Chocobo during Crystalis de Chocobo, maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility. Or maybe you would have liked to regain your true power and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles.

13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

misterbrief: (This guy is really annoying)

He knew she'd react like that. Compared to her castle? This was garbage of the worst degree.

"Why don't you see for yourself. As you already noticed, the living room is completely in shambles. And I'm pretty sure I saw a roach earlier working on that blasted thing."

He doesn't know if he can get the fridge working either. He's got his own tech knowledge, but he's no engineer. Or repairman, really. Anything broken past the basics means they'll have to get a new one or get an icebox.
windandrain: (Nervous)

[personal profile] windandrain 2014-12-05 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
It was, that castle had been a labor of love for her and Helios...but that was gone. Groaning as she heard about the roaches, reminded of Vinedra and all the trouble those roaches had caused, but...that was just idle musing.

Peeking into what appears to be the bathroom, she snorts in approval.

"At least you got the bathroom clean. That's...something...at least."
misterbrief: (I don't care how strong you are.)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2014-12-05 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"With no shortage of effort, may I remind you." Stepping behind her, he glances into the bathroom. That took him hours of cleaning, and there's still some remnants of grime in corners that he just couldn't get clean. It would take more effort, but for the most part, at least it was presentable.

"I don't have that much gil left after purchasing the new mirror. Replacing some of the plumbing to the sink. And, we still need a new shower curtain." He points to the rotting mess of a curtain he's thrown into the corner, next on his list of things to take care of.

"You can buy that." He sounds so bitter.
windandrain: (Annoyed)

[personal profile] windandrain 2014-12-05 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Laughing softly, Saori nods in agreement. The great Saiyan prince, complaining about the price of mirrors was an indication of how comfortable they'd grown in Luceti. That time was done, and now things seemed like they're going to be rougher.

"I'll go get one later today. I have a bit of money, don't worry."

The next room she enters is a total wreck and she winces back a sneeze. Too much dust...

"A storeroom?"
misterbrief: (This guy is really annoying)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2014-12-05 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
He stands a good distance back from her as she opens the door, knowing he hadn't gone into that room yet. The bathroom had been enough of a disaster.

"How should I know? I haven't gone in there yet." He peeks at it the best he can from his position. It's dark, and he can't really see.

"That might be your new bedroom for all I know." Now, he dares step forward. That just might be a bed in there. Who leaves a room like this, honestly. He opens the door a little farther, following her. A finger finds a light switch, making another explosion of dust come off of it. It's both. A storeroom and a bedroom. One wouldn't be able to tell from all the stuff stacked on top of the bed, the closet filled to the brim with things, and boxes everywhere.
windandrain: (Eh?)

[personal profile] windandrain 2014-12-06 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Covering her mouth with a sleeve Saori steps inside with him, eyeing the massive collection of junk. Some of it might be salvageable for scrap, though she's not convinced anyone could live in here safely. The choking cloud of dust nearly makes her cough even through the cloth, which leads her to rush over towards a window and throw it open for fresh air.

"No," she replies as she pokes her head out into the alley behind the house, "I can't sleep in here. Too drafty, and all this dust. It'll take months to repair it to habitable condition. But we could rent it out when we manage that."

A practical use for the room. Scrap what they could, repair what they could, find a tenant. Of course she's willing to bet he'll have other ideas.
misterbrief: (So irritating)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2014-12-06 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
He surveys it himself. They could probably sell a lot of the junk, yeah. One man's trash is another man's treasure, but that doesn't make him any less angry that whoever lived here last left all their crap for them to clean up. He huffs, annoyed.

"Maybe if we're hurting that badly for money. If not, this is better served as a workout room."

Did you honestly think he'd want anything else, absolutely not.
windandrain: (Eh?)

[personal profile] windandrain 2014-12-06 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Turning, she shakes her head and hops up onto the windowsill, half leaning outside to just get out of the stuffy, dusty room.

"Probably. How many other rooms do we have though? The house doesn't look that big on the outside."
misterbrief: (And what makes you think you'll win?)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2014-12-06 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's not big. My home back in Luceti was larger." And that house was not big at all.

"Besides the kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms and living room, there's a closet. And you can't even stand inside it it's so small. I can't believe after all this hero business we're fed that this is how we have to live."
windandrain: (Hmmm?)

[personal profile] windandrain 2014-12-06 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Cozy at least given that it's just the two of us," Saori muses, sliding back down and shutting the window. She gives him a look, though, as if he was suggesting something a little odd. Two bedrooms...and one of them as an exercise room?

"But I can imagine that they are running out of resources. They seem to have called quite a number of us." Without asking.
misterbrief: (Perhaps)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2014-12-06 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"They had better fix it, and quick." He surveys the room one more time, ignoring the look. He can already see where he's putting the weight lifting machine, all the other things he needs....

"Yes, I think this will do quite nicely," he says out loud, to himself while he makes a mental map of this particular room. "This will make a perfect workout room."

windandrain: (Modern Hong Kong Skyline)

[personal profile] windandrain 2014-12-07 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, she understands that. But...she has something else on her mind. Stepping back out of the junkroom, Saori takes a deep breath of fresher air.

"Is the other room big enough for two beds, then?"

Or are they going to share one? She doesn't have any objections at this point in their relationship, but she's honestly worried he might.
misterbrief: (you're serious?)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2014-12-07 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
"What are you talking about?"

He doesn't get where she's coming from.

"I'm going to sleep in the workout room! There's plenty of room for a bed in there in addition to any necessary equipment."

Yes, he plans on sleeping in that stinky sweat-filled room in the future.
windandrain: (Eye Roll)

[personal profile] windandrain 2014-12-07 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
"And...in the meantime?"

Because okay, that's just like him. She cannot contest that at all. But they don't have the equipment.
misterbrief: (So irritating)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2014-12-07 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Simple. I was here first, and I've done most of the work, so I've already claimed the bedroom." He folds his arms across his chest.

"Guess that means you get the couch."
windandrain: (Hands on hips)

[personal profile] windandrain 2014-12-07 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Her hands fold onto her hips and she sticks out her jaw, a flash of irritation crossing through her eyes.

"No, that's not going to work. It's too drafty, I'll get sick. So I guess we'll have to share, or you'll get the couch."
misterbrief: (And what makes you think you'll win?)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2014-12-07 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
"What do you mean it's too drafty?! You're a blasted wind goddess, for goodness sake!" He stares at her with determination not to lose this argument.

"I'm not sharing anything!"
windandrain: (Worry)

[personal profile] windandrain 2014-12-07 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
That causes her to look away, arms moving up around her protectively. He'd hit on an issue he had been trying not to think hard on. The lack of her power, including that supernatural fortitude, was distressing.

"I'm...not. Not here."
misterbrief: (you're lying)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2014-12-07 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
He hit a nerve. Of course he did. It's not even the fun kind of nerve to hit. The fun ones were the ones that made them angry, so he could laugh in their face about it and rile them up.

"Enough. I won't have you thinking like that while we're here. We've got a job to do, remember?"
windandrain: (Midnight)

[personal profile] windandrain 2014-12-07 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
He's right, honestly, but there are so many things to remember about being human. It's unpleasant, and full of bad memories.

"We do. But I will not be sleeping in a room that will make me sick."

She hasn't been sick in centuries, she doesn't intend to let that happen now. Taking a deep breath, she steps closer, one hand clenching, the other opening and closing slowly, flexing her fingers.

"So either you'll have to, or we'll have to share. It'd hardly be the first time either one of us has slept in bad conditions."
misterbrief: (You're out of your mind.)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2014-12-07 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Fine. I think that couch folds out anyhow. And I can wrap the windows to keep the air out so it's not cooling down the whole house." Annoying, but he has slept in worse conditions, she's right. Still, he wanted the bed. A result of being pampered back on Earth and Luceti.
windandrain: (Flirty)

[personal profile] windandrain 2014-12-07 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
"I would not object to sharing, dearest. If the bed is large enough."

Because that does seem like an awful lot of work to put into preparing a sleeping place when they were both adults who'd shared a bed more than once already.
misterbrief: (dude srs)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2014-12-07 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll be fine on the couch." He doesn't feel comfortable doing that with her, not at all. Even though they had shared a bed, it was against their will, and he doesn't want to imagine even sleeping on the edge of the bed with her right now.
windandrain: (What've we got to lose?)

[personal profile] windandrain 2014-12-07 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
"As you like," she nods.

A part of her sighs, but another part, the larger part...is glad for it. Him being accommodating is helpful, honestly, and she's still not entirely sure how she feels about what'd happened between them thus far. She still cares for him, loves him even, but...it's hard to say she's completely comfortable with the idea at the moment.
