— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompt below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!
1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.
2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.
3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.
4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.
5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.
6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.
7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.
8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.
9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!
10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.
11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.
12/ Events of the Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to capture a Chocobo during Crystalis de Chocobo, maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility. Or maybe you would have liked to regain your true power and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles.
13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

Guy Cecil | Tales of the Abyss
[Airships. Out of everything that Guy wanted and needed to know about life in Aqures Ixen, the airships were among the top items on the list. The majority of the fleet seemed to be made of classical styled frigates, of the sort that were ideal for crossing an ocean-- how they were able to sail through the air with little effort absolutely fascinated him.]
How do you think they work? [He asked, ostensibly to the moogle that was hanging out on his shoulder, as he stared up at the glorious white sails billowing in the breeze.]
6
[Daisy had vanished without any explanation besides 'Moogle Business', leaving Guy to fend for himself if he wanted to find out what was going on. And, what better place was there to pick up on the local news than at the local pub?
Strangers are more than welcome to chat up the friendly blond sitting at the bar, maybe even try to buy him a few drinks if they want, though they'll find that he's a complete gentleman in every regard.
They had just be careful about trying more than friendly conversation. That might not go entirely as planned.]
13
[Prompt me! New player is new, and still learning the ropes. :3]
mwahahahahahahah; 7
Of course, it might not have been so bad if she hadn't looked down after takeoff.
Right now, the normally happy Cetra is clinging to the railing near the cabin for dear life, her eyes shut and a frown on her pretty face.]
I heard it's a form of magic.
7
[He glanced down at the woman-- and how can he not react to that expression on her face?]
...Are you feeling okay?
no subject
[Even if she can't really tell the difference between being home and here. Well, aside from the lack of a Lifestream.
She opens up her eyes and looks at the man. He's a pretty blond with blue eyes, reminding her strongly of Cloud but much more delicate than even her friend. She can't help but smile at him.]
I've been better. I don't do well with heights.
no subject
[Guy frowned a little, wondering how he was to begin explaining the mechanics of how Fonons worked to someone who would never experience what life was like on Auldrant.]
It's more like a scientific phenomenon, to tell the truth. Everything can be explained, and everyone from researchers to layman understands the fundamentals of it.
['Magic', as a term, sounded far less ordered than the core of all Fonology practices. He didn't like it...but, that may be a term that he would have to get used to.]
We can talk about that some other time. It's a lot to explain.
[He shook his head, looking down at the woman with concern.]
Why aren't you inside if heights bother you? Wouldn't relaxing in a chair be more comfortable?
no subject
[Her smile turns a little mischievous.]
It's also a little complicated and would take a lot to explain. So, sure we can talk later.
[She might still be a little worried, but she can move away from the railing and relax a little. If she doesn't look down, she's fine. Yes.]
It's not the heights, per say. It's...the weight of freedom. You probably wouldn't understand.
no subject
You're right, I probably don't understand. [Guy said, leaning back against the railing after he was sure that the woman would be okay.] But, I'm willing to listen if you don't mind explaining it to someone.

[Yuna moves to sit next to him at the bar with a smile. She isn't really looking to buy anyone drinks but she enjoys coming to bars without Celes just to talk to someone new, some who didn't remind her of home.]
6
He does manage an apologetic smile for her.]
I'm doing just fine!
[Perhaps that was a little too quick...Guy took a peek around the rest of the bar, thoughtful.]
It sure is busy out there today, isn't it?
6
[She giggles softly and takes a small scout away. She could notice when people get tense and she doesn't want to make him uncomfortable.]
I like days like this. You can to see so many people pass in and out.
6
So far, the girls here seemed far nicer than some Kimlascan women. He counted that as partial compensation for being whisked away from everything that was familiar in Auldrant.]
You do. That's part of why I like coming to places like this. It's almost like you can see the heart of the community under a single roof.
6
Her smile warms as it looks out across the bar.]
It makes you wonder what stories everyone could tell.

I've heard many theories, so far, from those who are still unaware. Some say magic... [He looks back out to the sky.] I didn't have things, like this, back home. I'm at a loss for how to figure it out, so far. I plan to speak to a friend who pilots these, later.
[A pause, and then he turns towards the older man. His tone is polite as he gives a brief bow of his head.] My name is Aonuma Shun, by the way. Are you, by any chance, new here?
7
I am. My name is Guy Cecil, and I just arrived here a few days ago. [He followed the young man's gaze, upward at the immense blue sky.] As much as I hate to admit it, magic is the only thing I can think of that would make a ship like this fly. It's designed to be guided by the wind and the ocean's currents. Flying like this makes no sense for it unless there was another system at work.
no subject
[There's a hint of sympathy in his smile, until he's turning his head to the side, in thought. Mr. Guy seems like a very knowledgeable person. He turns back towards the open sky; after a short contemplation, Shun's responding in a tone that holds much thought.] You're right. Though, I did consider a type of gas; one with a considerable amount of buoyancy. I've read about the ones called helium or hydrogen. It would be a matter of a proper...source, for something as massive as this, though.
[A pause as the hint of sheepishness is given.] I suppose I'll have to agree, most, with the concept of magic being utilized. At least, until I research it, further.
no subject
Mindful of the differences between the various worlds represented in Aqures Ixen, Guy followed up with a similar question in kind.]
What would you prefer to go by? 'Aonuma Shun' is rather long to say everytime we talk to eachother.
[He smiled, offering his full attention to the young man and his theories. A light weight gas might work, but Guy didn't see any obvious means for it's distribution-- and, he hated to think that they could possibly be poisoning themselves on the deck by not intaking enough oxygen. There was no way that was possible.]
Regardless of what the truth is behind this technology, we're not going to know until we can find someone in the field to explain it to us. I was planning on looking for someone who can fly one of these in a few days, once I've figured a few more things out. Did you want to come along?
6
......
[Well, if he can just avoid the more reckless drunks... everything should be all right. In all honesty, the situation is embarrassing enough, for someone socially-stunted, and unfamiliar with asking for favors.
Masking his insecurities, Gaara calmly approaches the blond, and takes the seat beside him. He shakes his head at the bartender asking him what drink he wants, and then shifts his gaze to greet Guy in his usual quiet tone.] Hello.
6
Having company that wasn't Jade in this setting was new. He looked up from his drink and regarded Gaara with obvious curiosity.
Out of everyone he had met thus far, the taciturn red head was the last person he had expected.]
Hey. What brings you here?
no subject
There's a moment of silence as the redhead tries to figure out how to articulate this request. His usual method of being blunt doesn't work as well, when he's placed in a social setting.] I would like to... acquire information from you. Regarding Luke. [After a brief pause.] Does he have any preferences for material goods?
no subject
He had faith in his master, in the person who was all but a brother to him, but the Luke who currently resided seemed almost like a different person when compared to the one he had left in Keterburg.
Guy hummed thoughtfully, carefully picking out his words. Whatever the nature of their relationship was, there was now doubt that Luke and Gaara had come to be close to eachother during their travels. Guy didn't understand how the two of them had met...but, Luke was happy. That was enough for Guy to be satisfied.]
...Honestly, even I'm not certain anymore, [Guy said, leaning back in his seat.] Luke's grown up a lot since I saw him last but I'm sure he'll appreciate anything you can come up with. So long as you've put your heart into it, even a little memento would mean the world to him.
Re: Guy Cecil | Tales of the Abyss
Ancient technology I expect. At least that's what it would be back where I come from. I'm more used to having a ship like this on the ocean rather than in the air.
[Stealing one of these had crossed her mind. It seemed similar enough to the ships she'd captained. It just wasn't likely something she could pull off on her own.]
no subject
And I suspect there were ancient fon machines that could fly, although I doubt they resembled anything like this. Following current knowledge back home, they would need a propulsion system...and wings, like a glider.
[He had an idea of how one would work, but getting the means to make one would be another story entirely. He was also just a hobbiest and handyman, not a true engineer-- a trained specialist would need to man that project, although he would love to be a part of it.]
no subject
She appreciates it, but she's also fearful of it. Or rather, fearful of what men will do to have it.]
I'm afraid this is all over my head. So this sort of thing is common where you come from? Machines like this?
no subject
Although I've seen a few interesting pieces, I've also yet to find one that can fly. Not that it's impossible-- the funding for the resources must be harder to get.
