— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompt below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!
1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.
2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.
3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.
4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.
5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.
6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.
7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.
8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.
9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!
10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.
11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.
12/ Events of the Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to capture a Chocobo during Crystalis de Chocobo, maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility. Or maybe you would have liked to regain your true power and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles.
13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

K'pandolu Tohka | Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
[This was much easier with a chocobo who was already part of a stable, and with someone who knew how to handle it. Still, it'll be a long sight better than having to travel by foot- and she'd love to have the company of her own bird again. And so, K'pandolu's borrowed a Chocobo Lure from the old man and set out to look for a bird. Hopefully this won't take too long…]
2/ Do you like your new life?
[It might be an unexpected change of pace for people who know her, but on the other hand, what better way to grow used to this place than working in a shop? And it's a way to stretch out her muscles for activities that aren't fighting.]
2/
They're out of stock of a particular, somewhat herbal, hair product that he's been using religiously since he arrived. While the owner of the store had warned him that eventually they might run out, and have to wait for the next shipment in from Flence, he certainly hadn't banked on it being so soon.]
"You're going to have to pick something else, Kupo."
[Spencer wasn't helping of course, as Sephiroth silently frowned more at the shelf.]
no subject
K'pandolu considers them for a few moments, and then steps forward, putting on her most welcoming face. And she's had practice- the Weaver's Guild insists upon it!]
What is it you're looking for? Could I assist you in finding a suitable replacement?
no subject
He's stirred from his glaring by the friendly voice. Turns his head slightly so that he's peering around a streak of silver on one side of his face. Sizing up, his gaze rests a second more on her ears(?) but not long enough to be considered impolite.]
Oh. [She must be the store hand, right? The -new- store hand, moreover.] It's a certain ointment for hair that I've always found here. It seems you're out of stock.
[He peers only for a second over the other products on the shelf, not really impressed at all.]
no subject
Ah! I see. [she's somewhat more obvious about her observation of his hair, but surely that's understandable! It is very impressive hair.] Which one was that? I could see when we're likely to have it in stock again. Or perhaps I could see if we have something with similar ingredients right now. [it could be worth trying!]
no subject
It's a Flencian brand. [Sephiroth looks to her again while he tries to remember how to pronounce the name of it. Instead shaking his head a moment later.] It's got a strange name, but it comes in a purple bottle about this- [He gestures with both hands; it's a medium sized bottle as far as sizes go.] -big.
[As for other products with similar ingredients; how's he supposed to know he doesn't work here. Sephiroth isn't sure that he wants to try other potions or lotions though - this one actually does work wonders!]
What alternatives are there?
no subject
Well- perhaps something else from Flencia will be similar enough. Or, if you're worried about that running out as well, we could see what works best of the local products. A few samples shouldn't hurt. [and particularly with all that hair to test it on, besides.]
no subject
Even Spencer has wondered off somewhere else in the shop, taking the initiative also to look for alternatives in the meantime. It's not as if Sephiroth has even tried anything else out, not really.]
I really should just take the airship out there myself next time. [It's worded almost like an apology, but it doesn't show very much outwardly, at all.]
You're right though I can't keep staring at thin air. [Gasp! He might actually have to try something different! Though he doesn't like the idea very much at all. Sephiroth moves his gaze across to the more local products that are available and -after a pause- takes the first bottle that caught his eye. Turning it around in his hand some and flicking his gaze up to her as if expecting something-
A recommendation, perhaps?]
no subject
Perhaps! But we'll do our best to see that it doesn't happen again.
[but at that she brightens. Suggestions she can handle!]
That one's very nice, but generally we recommend it for people with hair a little bit shorter. This one, though- [she moves over, picking out another bottle, a little larger than the one he's holding, and holds it out to him] - this ought to suit your hair. [and perhaps last a little longer, too!]
no subject
Hm. [He puts the bottle he was overlooking back on it's shelf. It looked high quality enough, but as she said - for shorter hair it was!
Turning to look over the bottle she picked up instead. It was a little larger than the usual Flencian brand he was used to, and it wasn't presented nearly as well as the first one he had selected. It looked almost cheaper but then again - hair of his length wasn't a common trend in Aqures. It required so much upkeep that many of the locals probably wouldn't find the time.]
It doesn't look very much at all. [Sephiroth reached out to take the bottle from her, making a point not to stare at the ears, so that he could take a closer look. He wasn't the expert though, not in this World away from his World.]
I guess it's what's inside that counts.
no subject
[she nods firmly]
And, of course, the resulting feel of your hair! If this one doesn't work out, we'll do our best to find a more suitable replacement. [for a price, admittedly- but making tonics doesn't come free, after all.]
no subject
A curt nod, a small smile later and Sephiroth closes his hand around the bottle, drawing himself up more to his fullest height again. Sure he's not impressed, but he's not downright disappointed anymore. Perhaps this would be a hidden blessing, maybe this would be more than a viable replacement for his usual product.]
There is no need to make such a promise. I'll take this one, to give it a go at least.
[It all costs gils at the end of the day, whether it be this particular product or another. Sephiroth is no stranger to the pay for what you get rationale.]
no subject
I'd still prefer you left with a favourable impression. But it's good to hear you'll try this one! Let us know how it works. [all the better to provide others with good information!]
Now, the price… [she names a pirce which is a little on the priceier side, but hopefully within budget]
no subject
Sephiroth follows with a nod as he takes out a small pouch that he keeps his gils in and starts to count out the amount she has mentioned. He's hardly rolling in it but he makes enough to get by, like most of the Heroes, and investing in good hygiene products is something he sees as very important.]
I'll make sure that he comes in to let you know, Kupo! [Spencer, the small moogle with the glasses finally catches up and flits up to Sephiroth's shoulder height while he's counting out the gils.
Happy that he's got more than enough to purchase the bottle he holds out his hand to give her the payment.]
Keep the change.
no subject
[Of course it is! Better to look good when you're out and about than not- and, most importantly, not smell of monster guts.]
[she nods to Spencer, overly solemn.] I'm counting on you!
[Her eyes widen for a moment before she nods and reaches out to exchange the bottle for the gil.]
If you're sure! Thank you very much for your patronage!
