1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis! You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. 2/ Do you like your new life? No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible. 3/ Ukulele de Chocobo Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo-Bait© so you can go and capture your own. 4/ A thing called Mognet Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here. 5/ I believe I can fly~ You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness. 6/ Exploration Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course. 7/ Random Encounter You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck! 8/ Getting Jobs is hard It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone. 9/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering… This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards. 10/ Wild Card Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world! |

I hope you don't mind. :)
"Hm?" His concentration was broken and placed down the item to walk away from the stand toward the source of the shouting. Of course, this didn't exactly leave a good impression with the vendor since the shopkeeper probably thought it was a waste of his time when he could have sold the item to someone else that wasn't so stubborn.
With a determined pace, Angeal finally caught up to the shouting and the commotion. Some thought that the young hero was a little loud but that didn't seem to change their view in the slightest.
"Apparently, to them you are. Heroes are chosen by the people." Pirates can be heroes too, or so Angeal thought but never said aloud.
Re: I hope you don't mind. :)
"Ehh-? Chosen by the people? "Choose" nuthin'. I don't have time to be a hero. There's too much adventure and food out there to be a hero."
The young man leers as the people surround him, addressing him with gifts of flowers and small trinkets that are pushed aside and waved away with great frustration.
"Isn't there someone else who IS actually a hero? I'm too hungry to be doing anything like this! Hey, Uncle! Where's the nearest Pub, huh?"
Re: I hope you don't mind. :)
Angeal straightened himself and looked over his shoulder to ask one of the bystanders. "Your hero wants to know where the nearest pub is located. Show him the way." He smiled and stepped back to give way to the crowd.
He wasn't about to take away from Luffy's glory. He was having a bit too much fun himself watching the other flail about through his frustration. He thought to himself that Luffy might get used to the idea, but that was yet to be seen. Still the same, he was enjoying the scene.
Re: I hope you don't mind. :)
To Luffy, being called a Hero was like being called a dupe. Yet, to those who provided a good meal even Luffy couldn't harbor distaste or anger. When they finally arrived at the Pub, the young man is more grin than human as he runs to the bar and immediately begins to order.
"Mister! Mister, Mister! One of everything, got it?"
Being sure that the man who had intervened had followed, Luffy turns over his shoulder to chuckle with delight as he waves at Angeal.
"You gonna' eat anything, Uncle? The food here smells great!"

This wasn't his show, but sharing it wasn't so bad either. He was reminded of Zack but Luffy was very different. Where one embraced the ideal, the other wasn't entirely for it. At the very least, they were both boisterous. Angeal's eyes widened slightly from the order made and a chuckle soon followed. The crowd around Luffy was a sea of heads to the tall Angeal though he managed to make his way through to be close to Luffy. He placed his hand on the youth's shoulder to show his patience and attention.
"I'm fine. You enjoy it. You just arrived and I'm sure you'll need your strength." Truth be told, Angeal had a full meal on his arrival as well and he was stuffed to the gills. He found that being called Uncle wasn't so bad nor did he think to correct Luffy either while he sat down across from Luffy.

The plates arrive just as the hand comes to his shoulder, his mouth moving more like a ferocious animal as hands begin to shovel what few plates are set before him. He puts the meals away with care or worry, barely affording the time to chew or savor what the taste of the different meals might be before he's swallowed them down. Hands motion in their fury for more, beckoning to the wide-eyed bartender who stutters before calling to the back of the establishment for more orders.
"So-", Luffy says while chugging on a tall glass of juice, "you aren't from around here either." For what little well of wisdom Luffy had being knocked about his brain with the recent meal of ribs, he does know a bit about the eyes of a fighter. Where some can't see the glint in a soldier's eye, Luffy knows the kind of look all too well. The sort of eyes that have seen many fights and lands far off from the home that they once knew. It isn't his interest to know everything, save for where he might be and how he can get back.

"You're not wrong." Angeal admitted with his hands supporting his chin with bridged fingers. "Even I was surprised when I was called a hero among strangers."
The young pirate would-be king certainly had his own brand of wisdom that others tend to miss. It was nice to see and he was glad for it. The people that surrounded them were in awe mixed with some disgust about Luffy's manners but they all cheered his presence all the same.
Angeal's moogle arrived shortly after and hovered next to Luffy's moogle.
"Kupo, don't run off like that! Humans look so much alike." Lester said with a sigh.
Angeal looked up and over at the small hovering creature. "I'll have to make sure that you can tell me apart from the rest." The same could be said about the moogles but Angeal wasn't about to step into that territory.
no subject
"Don't like being called a hero, huh? Pretty lame name to be given." His short attention spans puts him back to the meal, chewing happily on the unfamiliar foods before turning back to Angeal to offer a mouth full of advice.
"Maybe put horns on your head? Or walk around on fire? You'd look different then."
Oddly, Luffy's suggestions are genuine, not the least bit sarcastic or trivial. He merely stares at Angeal as he waits for the approval of his obvious genius.
no subject
It wasn't that he didn't want to be called a hero, that was far from the truth. He didn't think he deserved the title yet and took it with grace and in stride without getting angry. He was used to being the unnoticed one supporting others instead of having the spotlight.
Lester giggled at the suggestion of horns. "That's not a bad idea, kupo!"
no subject
"Pirate. Yup. Being called a pirate is a lot better, 'cause that's what I am."
He scoops up another portion of soup, shoveling it into his maw as his lips close around the utensil. With the bowl in one hand, he turns to look at Angeal as his eyebrows raise in question. Attempting to speak through the spoon doesn't seem to work well, so he plucks the tool from his mouth with an audible snap before speaking once again.
"What are you? A pirate? A fishman?"
no subject
Luffy was certainly confident and that would go far, true, but it concerned Angeal as well. The SOLDIER leaned back a bit in his chair and stroked his stubble covered chin. "Let's see. I'm not much of a fisherman, and I'm not suited to be a pirate. I'm a SOLDIER." He added with a gentle smile while he lowered his hand.
no subject
"A soldier? Guess you've seen a lot of action, huh?"
Assumptions, assumptions. The details didn't matter. Luffy wasn't one to care about the trifles of politics or different countries waging wars. What mattered to Luffy was that the man seemed to have a pure heart. He'd helped him find food, and for Luffy that spoke the world of Angeal's character.
"Must be pretty strong, huh? You should eat sumthin', Uncle! You'll wear out if you don't get a full meal in your stomach."
no subject
"There are others that are stronger. I have to keep that in mind." One thing was certain, Angeal wasn't arrogant. "You may call me Angeal or Geal for short." He offered his name with a smile. "But Uncle is fine too."
The fact that Luffy was looking out for him too meant a lot to Angeal. To him, they were bonding over the simple things which was good. The crowd gave their awes of respect for the two which caused Angeal's brow to twist in a bashful way.
