— Most importantly, have fun!
1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis! You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. 2/ Do you like your new life? No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible. 3/ Ukulele de Chocobo Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo-Bait© so you can go and capture your own. 4/ A thing called Mognet Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here. 5/ I believe I can fly~ You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness. 6/ Exploration Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course. 7/ Random Encounter You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck! 8/ Getting Jobs is hard It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone. 9/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering… This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards. 10/ Wild Card Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world! |

Well, there wasn't much use in sitting still and contemplating just how she'd gotten here... And while she knew that 'the plan' had been to stay in one place if they had gotten separated from one another, but -- well -- she'd been learning lately that sometimes the best laid plans didn't really work out. Maybe it was that same blond influence that prompted the summoner to approach the nearby chocobo corral and inquire as to how to obtain a mount.
She'd just undergone chocobo training recently in the Calm Lands, really. And as she swung her legs over the great bird's saddle, her status as a novice seemed to become all the more obvious. "Woah--" she chided gently, trying to get a feel for the reigns. "There we are, nice and easy..."
[ 6 ] exploration
A whistle sounded loudly from her lips. Well, she had to try, right? There was a sinking feeling in the pit of Yuna's stomach. This hadn't been the first whistle she'd attempted, but she was on higher ground now, trying to get a better view of the land. Maybe... maybe there was a chance he could hear it from up here?
The brunette frowned, she had yet to see a familiar face since she'd... arrived in this place. Just... what had happened to everyone?
Looking down at the world below, none of it seemed real. How had Spira disappeared right from under her feet and turned into... this?
6
But as she makes her way upward, it's the whistling that catches her attention first, and she walks a bit of a ways to find the source.
A woman? "Oh. I didn't think anyone else would be up here."
no subject
The summoner stepped slightly to the side, as though to invite the other woman to take a better view, as well.

Prodding his moogle awake, he folded his map and tucked it in a small satchel before rising and making his way carefully back up the hill to learn what he could of the whistler lest they be a threat. Clambering around one last rocky outcropping, at last he came within sigh of Yuna and paused, frowning as he watched her. No other living beings in sight (besides her moogle) but that didn't mean the whistle wasn't a signal.
"What are you doing here?" he demanded, harsh and authoritative, despite his stature and that his voice still hadn't fully deepened into that of an adult.
no subject
"Ah, I was..." what was she doing? How strange did it seem for someone to be to high up just whistling in the distance? "I was just -- looking for someone." She fell into a small bow, old habits die hard and all that, as she averted her gaze from the stranger.
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't think anyone else would be here..."
no subject
"If you were looking for someone, wouldn't you expect someone to be there? Otherwise what's the point in searching a given area?"
sorry for lateness!!
"My apologies, if I disturbed you."
how dare you. (no really - it's totally fine c: )
"... you did not. Merely surprised me." Soren was then quiet for a moment, studying her before looking away at the view of the valley before them. "I suppose when a familiar face fails to appear in the crowds, it makes sense to seek more remote areas."
no subject
"Are you... from here?" Perhaps he'd be able to give some much needed directions...
no subject
"No. I was brought here a few weeks ago. .... I believe the moogles only accompany those who were likewise taken here."
no subject
She followed with a bow.
no subject
"My name is Soren, tactician of the Greil Mercenaries." And of nowhere in particular. As far as he was concerned, his area of employ was ... sufficient. (It was more home than anywhere else, after all.)
In any case, he returned the bow stiffly.
no subject
It wasn't even so much a question, since she likely knew the answer anyway. Those she had met in the town had no idea, and the moogles couldn't offer much insight either, helpful as they were.
no subject
"Not... not to my knowledge," he murmured after a few moments of silence. Not that he was particularly attached to where he came from, but...

She turned again, looking out towards the plains below.

Super new muse, pardon my flailing around! And somewhere between the two.
Except back home. He wanted to get back home as fast as possible--and home was definitely now Spira, not Zanarkand. But there weren't any handy signs telling him which way to go, so he was trying every way to see what looked good. So far it all looked about the same. Maybe he should just close his eyes and pick a direction?
He thought, faintly, that he heard a whistle. That got his attention. He'd probably just imagined it. If there weren't any signs telling him how to get back, there definitely weren't going to be any signs saying "Your dream girl = this way!"
Tidus went that way anyway, because he didn't have a better direction to go. Maybe the view at the top of the cliff would give him some idea of where to go next.
only if you pardon my SCREE BANSHEE NOISES because TIDUS
She was reminded of his sudden appearance in Spira, and of his fathers before that. Had Sin transported her here? After she had seen him in the ruins of Zanarkand at the Dome where they had defeated Yunalesca... had that been enough contact?
Her mind wasn't fuzzy, however. The details of her home and her past were still clear as day. The moments where her faith had come crashing down... they were still present, too.
Disheartened, she closed her eyes briefly, and turned around, readying herself for the descent back to ground level. But when she opened them again, Yuna found herself rubbing at them, willing her gaze into better focus. That couldn't be... a chocobo in the distance. And surely -- it wasn't a familiar blond blitzer at the reins!

"I hear it too, kupo," Merlose chimed in, nodding her head. "From over yonder, methinks." Ashelia nodded back, turning toward where she thought the sound came from and setting off without a word.
It didn't take her long to find the source of the whistle. The young woman it seemed to originate from hadn't been concerned with covering her trail. Ashelia figured she really had happened upon a lost maiden, from the looks of things.
The queen raised her hands into the air, approaching slowly. Merlose followed suit. "I heard your whistle and thought you might be in need of help. Worry not, I come in peace." Ashelia stopped, waiting for the young woman's reaction.
no subject
She hadn't been expecting to come face to face with a young woman, her surprise widening her two-toned eyes. But with that reassurance, the brunette once again seemed to relax. "My apologies. That... was probably louder than I thought it would be..."
no subject
Merlose floated closer to Yuna, tapping her little moogle mouth with her paw in thought. "Hmmmm, kupo."
"Back, Merlose. Give her space." The moogle obediently flew away from the young woman sheepishly. "I am the Lady Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca of Ivalice." The introduction still felt awkward on her tongue. Tacking on the world she hailed from was necessary these days, but clunky. "You are lost."
no subject
A nod at the question. "This place... isn't anywhere familiar to me. The moogle that greeted me -- even went so far as to say that this is no longer Spira..."
no subject
"Supposed? Kupo!" Merlose crossed her stubby arms, in much the same manner as her mistress. "The prophecy is abundantly clear, kupo!"
Ashelia turned toward her companion, annoyed. "You are aware of my opinions on prophecy, Merlose." The queen's voice was stern. "I shall do what needs to be done, but not to for the sake of some prophecy."
Just as quickly as her bearing turned sour, the queen was back to normal. Merlose sighed in exasperation and flew away, muttering under her breath. "What do you make of all this, Yuna?" Ashelia opened her mouth to continue, but stopped, looking around in confusion. "Wait - where is your moogle companion?"
