— Most importantly, have fun!
1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis! You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. 2/ Do you like your new life? No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible. 3/ Ukulele de Chocobo Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo-Bait© so you can go and capture your own. 4/ A thing called Mognet Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here. 5/ I believe I can fly~ You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness. 6/ Exploration Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course. 7/ Random Encounter You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck! 8/ Getting Jobs is hard It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone. 9/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering… This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards. 10/ Wild Card Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world! |

She didn't wait for him to answer, she smiled and searched his features a moment. "I think you're right though. Having something or someone to protect is what makes a hero." Something you're willing to do anything to save.
She walked pass him and then turn around with a smile, clasping her hands together. "You just showed up too right? Why not travel with me a bit?" Zelda's moogle comes flying up with a nod and a smile agreeing with Zelda's idea.

When she walked past him and turned around with that generous smile on her face, he had to take a moment to get his bearings straight here. In his eyes, his sight of her changed, if only for a moment as he remembered long locks of braided brunette and striking emerald eyes. If anything, he was more amused by the similarities between her and Aerith on the surface above anything else. Calmly shaking his head as he gave a warm answer, he had flashbacks of when he was 'hired' as a bodyguard of sorts.
"I'd do it if I were you! Two heroes are better than one!"
As Cloud spotted her moogle companion flutter up and smile in kind, he shrugged as if it wasn't such a big deal. Though his words were more telling than the roll of his shoulders.
"Sure. It'll be easier to find more answers together."

Once again Zelda's smile softened. "They are amazing." The moogles have won her heart and she couldn't help but show it.

If she ever felt like taking the lead though, he wouldn't have minded.
"We've actually got creatures like them back in my own world... They're called Mogs though."
no subject
"Would Mog be short for Moogle?" She asked curiously, her own moogle asleep in her arms.
no subject
"What's your world like?"
It was worth getting to know more about what's out there.
no subject
"What about you?"
sorry for the late tag!
is cool! I'd love to do more tags with you, outside test run if ya want too
Her eyes were steady as she explained, and she really didn't mind. It only made sense that other worlds would be different from her own.
I'm game!
Chocobos that flew? He wanted to ask her, but he imagined she wouldn't know what those were in this world. That was, until someone rode past them through the city on their own feathered companion. Doing a double take as he realized that this world had Chocobos too (granted it had Moogles, so just how close was it to his own?), Molg finally made good on how he didn't answer Zelda back.
"Aren't you gonna tell her what your world's like too kupo?"
He could ask about Skyloft more some other time. A city in the sky... He had to be honest, visiting a place like that would have been interesting.
"Well...there's a lot to talk about. Not sure what you're used to, but," He may as well have talked about the people, the cities, the technology that he suspected could have flown over her head. "We live on the surface of our planet. A lot of monsters roam around the wildlands between cities and towns, and unless it's one of the bigger hotspots like Junon or Edge, most places are pretty..." Peaceful? Small? Less advanced? "Quiet." It was as good a word as any, as thoughts of Rocket Town, Nibelheim and Kalm came to mind. In the grand scheme of things, there really was a lot of land left untouched by humans on Gaia.
"A lot of open fields and most places are split off by mountains."
YAY
Her moogle by this point had fallen asleep in her arms and she didn't seem bothered to hold him.

His expression faltered for only a moment before he perked up again, deciding it was best to move on from that. "Most of my life was spent in the military though, so I got used to the city life."
no subject
"What did you do in the military?" She began to walk again her eyes staring straight ahead while her tone tried to stay light and cheery. "Sounds exciting. Did you want to become a hero?" More similarities, it was almost frightening.
no subject
"My honor...my dreams...they're yours now."
"..."
"You'll be...my living legacy."
Cloud wasn't sure if he could really tell a stranger, nice as Zelda was, about all of that. So he could at least tell her parts of the truth as he caught up to her. There were no lies, only things that he didn't think would be wise to tell her about his past. She seemed to take a great interest in him, and yet...
She reminded him of her in some ways.
"For the most part, I was sent out on patrol missions. I didn't see too much action as far as combat went." By comparison to the work that members of SOLDIER did if they were around, he seemed like an afterthought. It wasn't until Zack that he truly started to come into his own, even for being a lowly grunt. "Did you want to become a hero?"
"... yeah," he nodded with a small smile. "I wanted to become a part of SOLDIER. They represented what being a hero was all about. The pride, the honor, the power to protect the world you cared about, and the people in it." He turned to Zelda as he said this, still having to get used to the fact that his own symbol of his legacy was gone now, now carrying a more simple sword in its stead. It'd have to live on in his heart now, if anything. Cloud chose to become a part of SOLDIER so he could be a hero, just like Sephiroth; so that he could save the girl when she needed someone to sweep her off her feet just in time.
"Guess that here, we're all heroes now. At least...we're supposed to be."

She skips a little and turned to walk backwards for a few steps. "I think you can do it. That is, once you find out how to walk without running into people." Her smile grew as she poked fun at his earlier blunder. She turned back around and laced her fingers behind her back.
The truth was that Zelda wanted someone to protect her. Someone to be with and want her to be safe, now that she was here that seemed out of reach.

"I think you can do it."
He stopped as he watched Zelda walk ahead of him, backwards and smiling as she teased him for earlier. She believed in him; if he didn't find a way home first, this world would need him first before he could find a chance. Cloud was about to try and trick her by telling her she was about to bump into someone, but she'd already turned around. Rats; he'd have to find another chance to turn the tables. Following after her, a light smile crossed his features.
"Well, at least I'm not alone. Even heroes need help sometimes."

"The smart thing to do would be to find some place to stay for the night, and plan what our next move is."
