1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune.

2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.

3/ Ukulele de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo-Bait© so you can go and capture your own.

4/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.

5/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

6/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.

7/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!

8/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

9/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

10/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

Hm?

[Numair looks down at the girl, smiling. He's just a little embarrassed for being so obvious about it but, well. His Moogle, meanwhile, is happy for the distraction!]

Oh, yes, though I've learned a lot by asking this little creature. [He scratches behind his Moogle's ears. The Moogle purrs] Though he says "kupo" a lot, which makes it hard to understand him sometimes. Numair Samalín of Tortall.

[Slighty showy bow.]
crystalheaded: (taken aback)

[personal profile] crystalheaded 2014-06-29 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
[ She smiles as she watches the petting and the moogle's pleased reaction, but it's slightly uneasy too. Her own moogle is keeping about two feet's distance from her, at her request.

She catches on quickly that he's introduced himself and in fact bows in return, one hand at her chest. ]
I am Agnès Oblige, vestal of wind. [ If there are crystals in this world, she's still a vestal--it seems plain enough in her mind. As she straightens, she looks to the side at her own moogle. ] This one does the same. I suppose it's a quirk of theirs.

What do you make of the legend? That we were prophesied to come here? [ She feels fairly confident that if he's been asking a lot of questions, his moogle would have mentioned it, as hers did. ]

Prophecy is inexact--their gods might have a prophecy that mentions from another world but that might not mean us. They might mean some other country or their Divine Realm or even under the sea. There is really no way to tell until it comes to pass, assuming it ever does.
crystalheaded: (crystalheaded; no u)

[personal profile] crystalheaded 2014-06-30 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
[ Agnès nods. ] The prophecy may not have been truly intended for this world. Or it may be a tool. Prophecy can be self-fulfilling in ways... [ She'd like to take it at face value, but she doesn't want to come to a conclusion too hastily. ]

At the same time, I do not feel all that surprised to have been included in such a group. [ She's more put out that she has yet to encounter her friends. ]
treespeople: (Thoughtful)

[personal profile] treespeople 2014-06-30 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Me either, and I think that's the most annoying and interesting part about all this. Are all the so-called heroes heroes in their homelands as well?
crystalheaded: (sorrow; obligation and its cost)

[personal profile] crystalheaded 2014-06-30 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Even the title is similar, at least to me. Not "Heroes of Light", but "Warriors of Light", as my friends helped me restore light to the crystals of Luxendarc. This world may be very different in some ways, but in others it seems quite alike. [ And in some ways, that's a little bit worrying.

She looks up at Numair, curiosity plain on her face. ]
Might I ask what you did in your homeland?
treespeople: (Court Business)

[personal profile] treespeople 2014-06-30 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Even as she's speaking, he's writing down "Luxendarc" and "Warriors of Light". If it's similar, maybe it's relevant.]

My friends and I helped to stop the Queen of Chaos from destroying the world. We only finished a few weeks ago, too. Recovery is going to take forever.
crystalheaded: (determined)

[personal profile] crystalheaded 2014-07-01 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
[ She's a bit surprised by him writing her words down as she's still talking; Ringabel had been enthusiastic about note-taking as well, but usually waited until a lull in the conversation to jot things down. And taking note of her? Though, she did volunteer the information... and it's clear from his words that he is earnest in this conversation. ]

Recovery is a difficult time. It feels like it may never end. But, eventually... people do find a new semblance of normal life. [ At least in part. ] I pray it comes quickly for the people of your world.

How did the Queen of Chaos attempt to bring destruction to the world? Did she interfere with the crystals? [ Because in her mind, all worlds have crystals. And it would make sense for people who have some knowledge of the crystals to be the ones fetched... ]

We don't have crystals. Well, there are gemstones but those aren't particularly special beyond some having the ability to store magic that's cast on them. Uosae was just trying to, well, cause chaos. Enough of it would destroy anything.
crystalheaded: (taken aback)

[personal profile] crystalheaded 2014-07-01 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
[ Agnès' eyes widen. ] You... don't have crystals? Your world must have been very chaotic already! [ Welp, someone's vestalhood is showing; she's a little distressed by the thought of a world without a single crystal, because for the brief time that all four crystals had lain dormant in Luxendarc, things had been terrible. ]
treespeople: (Neutral or Tired)

[personal profile] treespeople 2014-07-01 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
[Numair shakes his head]

Not anymore chaotic than it should be, really. Humans are naturally given to a little chaos, but it wasn't anything world ending until recently, when it got a little help.
crystalheaded: (shy; at least it's not the bravo bikini)

[personal profile] crystalheaded 2014-07-01 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
I see... it's just hard for me to imagine. We're so accustomed to the crystals' blessings in my world. When the crystals darkened and the wind stopped blowing, we were at a loss.

But I suppose crystals aren't a common link between the heroes that have been summoned, then. Perhaps it's simply a sense of duty...
treespeople: (Oh Gods)

[personal profile] treespeople 2014-07-01 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Or a history of saving the world, though if that were the case I'd expect to see more of my friends here. Did you say the wind stopped blowing?
crystalheaded: (sorrow; obligation and its cost)

[personal profile] crystalheaded 2014-07-01 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
It sounds like you have many important friends. And yes. [ She nods. ] Without the wind crystal, there could not be wind. I tried to prevent it from being consumed by the darkness, but failed. As a result, the winds stopped, and with the water crystal lost the seas grew putrid, and along with the crystals of fire and earth... [ She sighs. ] It was a trying time for everyone.
treespeople: (Geek)

[personal profile] treespeople 2014-07-01 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
So natural phenomenon are controlled by these crystals in your world?

[Whoops, sorry Agnès, you now have the nerd's attention]

What do the fire and earth crystals do?
crystalheaded: (ahaha WHAT?; fluster)

[personal profile] crystalheaded 2014-07-01 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
...Do you mean the wind happens without any crystal's blessing in your world? [ That's so strange. ] Well--without the fire crystal, lava rose up in Eisenberg. It nearly swallowed the fire temple up, and it was starting to consume the city of Hartschild. And without the earth crystal, the highlands in Eternia acted unnaturally, rising even higher in altitude.
treespeople: (Black Robe)

[personal profile] treespeople 2014-07-01 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
The wind is part of nature. It blows however it wants without anyone's blessing.

[He hums softly]

And Eisenberg is near a volcano, I'm assuming?
crystalheaded: (sorrow; obligation and its cost)

[personal profile] crystalheaded 2014-07-01 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
It's one of the most beautiful aspects of nature. [ someone's biased. ] It's just...

[ Well, nature being completely separate from crystals is obviously going to take a bit of change of thought. It also makes her wonder if she really should have just broken a crystal to be done with things--perhaps the wind would blow on its own if given enough time?--but no, thinking of 'what ifs' is dangerous. Their worlds may genuinely operate differently, and she cannot change what's already happened. What mistakes she's made, she has to live with. She shakes her head to herself, moving on. ]

Eisenberg is a continent with several volcanoes. All of them became more active, but Mount Karka was the most worrying one, since it was closest to civilization.
