— Most importantly, have fun!
1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis! You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. 2/ Do you like your new life? No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible. 3/ Ukulele de Chocobo Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo-Bait© so you can go and capture your own. 4/ A thing called Mognet Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here. 5/ I believe I can fly~ You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness. 6/ Exploration Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course. 7/ Random Encounter You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck! 8/ Getting Jobs is hard It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone. 9/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering… This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards. 10/ Wild Card Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world! |

She turned to her moogle and nods. "Miro? Could you find me greens?"
The chance to ride again brought a smile to her face. Zelda turned towards the stranger. "My name is Zelda. What's yours?"
no subject
"Sephiroth." He was still getting used, mostly to having to introduce himself to others. It felt odd considering so many others had always known his name whether he had known theirs or not.
"Why don't you give it a try?"
no subject
It was daunting but she was determined to ride and feel the wind rush past her once again. She moved closer to the chocobo she had been watching and held out the greens. It came over, eagerly eating the green treats out of her hand.
"Hey slow down there." Zelda giggled as the chocobo searched her for more. "Hold still." She walked around him and quickly mounted. The chocobo squawked and shaked his head but didn't ming having Zelda one his back.
She waved over to Sephiroth with a happy smile. "Hey come on! You too!"

Zelda, at least, seemed to have a knack for quickly mounting them. In fact, she made it look easy.
At her encouraging wave, he took a small palms-worth of greens from his small pouch and secured the rest away. He held his arm out at it's full length as he approached the next nearest chocobo and with a loud 'Quark!' it started to eagerly peck at the greens provided - but it didn't stop there. Sephiroth snapped his hand away as the big bird pecked at the flesh of his hand, as if by doing so it might conjure more greens.
"Ugh-" He narrowed eyes down at the bird who cocked it's inquisitive head to the side at him. For a long moment he nearly froze up completely, unsure if the chocobo might actually attack him; but actually it's head then lowered as it took a hesitant step towards him.
Within a few further moments Sephiroth's hand was gently stroking behind the longer feathers on the top of it's head. He didn't quite feel ready to attempt to mount though-

She reached over and gave Siphorths bird a quick pat while making sure the two birds were okay with being close together. "Do you know how to get on?" Zelda realized that she grew up with birds and already knew some about riding them.
At the same time she didn't want to insult him by offering her help when it wasn't wanted.

The chocobo he was petting made a low, tongue-rolling click of a sound as he stopped his motions behind it's head; only encouraging him to carry on. Sephiroth raised an eyebrow and tilted his head downwards to see the side of the chocobo's head as if he might read an expression. He thought it did seem rather contented with him there doing it.
Sephiroth looked up to Zelda as she got close enough to pat his chocobo, and then came the question. He might have frowned deeper but instead turned his attention to the back of his new yellow-feathered friend as it was stretched out angled upwards away from him, running through logical techniques how he might be able to climb on. He was certainly tall enough not to have to give it much of a leap.
"Can't say I've ever ridden-" 'Anything like this before' was only going to make him look even more of a novice than he already did and so he shrugged it off and patted the outstretched neck of his bird, which seemed to signal for it to stand back up straight so that Sephiroth could step around to the side. Though, after a moments inspection, it didn't seem right for him to drag himself up holding onto the folded wings of the chocobo-
"Suggestions?" He didn't like to have to ask, but really how else would he know?
no subject
"Then swing your leg over but not too hard." As much fun as it would be, she doesn't want to see the hero go right over the chocobo and to the ground.
Zelda was lucky that these birds were so close to the loftwings from home. Though, she doesn't know about the wings of these birds. It doesn't appear that they are big enough to fly. It looked as if their wings would help with jumping and maneuverability. Which means that their wings are essential to their survival. "Be careful not to damage their wings."

He looked over at Zelda once more over the back of his chocobo and nodded, just once. A moment later he both applied firm pressure to that rough spot he had found and managed -mostly- to simply swing his leg up and over. It was very strange, feeling the solid and living warmth of a creature beneath him and Sephiroth fought the urge to recoil. It was just as well that he managed not to flinch just then as well, since the chocobo had raised it's head in the meantime, with a satisfied 'Waaark'.
"This- is going to take some getting used to."

"Is there a place you were heading? I was hoping to get the feel of riding these birds so I was going to go to a field nearby." She nodded to her moogle indicating that is was her moogle that knew the way.
Zelda would love the company but she doesn't want to distract anyone from being a hero of this strange place.

Thankfully the chocobo had not been mid-step when Zelda had turned back to him. He used the opportunity to fidget just a little to better position his legs on either side of the chocobo and then sat a lot more comfortable looking while he replied.
"I wasn't headed anywhere in particular." It seemed, for the most part, that they both had the same objective here today.

Zelda pointed to a fence that was in sight from where they sat. It appeared to be far enough away to be a good ride while not actually going anywhere. "Want to race?" Her smile was mischievous as she moved her chocobo in position.
Races were so common on skyloft she didn't think that he would refuse.
no subject
The chocobo disturbed him from gauging the distance, while it shuffled from one leg to the other in adjusting to his weight but Sephiroth managed (just about) to keep his balance still. He looked back to Zelda and delivered a look that said in it's entirely - are you crazy?
He had no intention to take any risk that might involve himself being hurled from the bird, now that he'd actually managed to mount and at least learn the feel of how prolonged transit might be first few steps. High speeds, and steering - recipe for disaster.
"Probably not the best idea."
no subject
"You think you can ride?" She didn't mean it as an insult but she wanted to make sure he was comfortable before riding off. After all, Zelda yearned to feel the wind against her cheek, the world flashing beneath her.
no subject
"I'll get it." He inclined his head outwards in a side-nod, indicating the rest of the paddock. "You go right ahead."
It was clear that she were more natural at it than he was, though he had no doubt that he'd get it, soon enough.
no subject
She spurred the bird forward. It really did feel like flying and her smile grew as the wind rushed by.
