1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis! You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. 2/ Do you like your new life? No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible. 3/ Ukulele de Chocobo Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo-Bait© so you can go and capture your own. 4/ A thing called Mognet Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here. 5/ I believe I can fly~ You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness. 6/ Exploration Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course. 7/ Random Encounter You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck! 8/ Getting Jobs is hard It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone. 9/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering… This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards. 10/ Wild Card Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world! |

[3 - Ukulele de Chocobo]
[There's a girl trying to bait some chocobo in the fields today! She's got a huge grin on her face while she coos at a nearby chocobo, holding out the bait and occasionally giving it a small wave in an attempt to get its attention.]

[Is this how you're supposed to do it? She hasn't the faintest. But it seems like a good start, right?]
[5 - I believe I can fly~♫]
[Hopefully you don't mind the fact that there's a short girl dashing up and down the deck. And fast, at that. Judging by her armor, she must be a dragoon.
At any rate, she'll just slam herself into the railing, pushing herself up so she can see over the side.]
Amazing! The view is fantastic! It would be so cool to fly solo here...
[...She looks like she's about to tip right over the edge. But she couldn't be that reckless, right?
...Right???]
[7 - Random Encounter]
[Oh, now this looks exciting. She gives her spear a quick twirl before getting into a fighting stance. Not really the type of weapon she's accustomed to, but what better time to learn than in the heat of battle?
She's still got her reservations about fighting off monsters, but at the same time... It's for the greater good of the people, right? And it's just some bat... things.]
Back me up, okay-?
[And with that, she dashes forwards to attack the poor Buer up ahead. It's a really good thing she's got some range with that weapon of hers.]

[Okay, dashing with her, getting ready to do the slashy hacky attacky thingy, can handle this, is also probably going to be really obnoxious with his entire...] SONIC...THRUST! [...shouting of attack thing.]

[It's not a very cool exclamation, but her attacks are quick and her aim is true. With one jab to puncture a wing and another at the eye, one of the Buers is down for the count.]

It's kind of amazing that he hasn't lost an eye or something yet.

[Except his random exclamations don't seem to actually be doing things.]

[And with that cheerful shout, she does indeed come running to his side, attacking the Buer with a flurry of stabs. Maybe it's because of her chosen job, but she's fast, apparently intent on filling the Buer with holes.
Especially the wings. It isn't long before the poor monster can no longer support itself in the air.]

[If she's got some sort of bloodline curse this would be SO UNFAIR.]

[Not all of the games she played were RPGs, but there were still a fair few. She gives the spear a playful twirl, thinking back to all the different worlds she traveled that way...]
I haven't used a spear in a while, but its range really came in handy! I think I could get used to this!
[She'll need to figure out how to move fluidly from one attack into another, but if this monster was any indication, she should be able to get in some good practice. In the meantime, her quick reflexes should keep her relatively safe.]

Though - really, it's not so safe to be dashing around on deck like that. He should just leave the girl to her fate but then - that wouldn't be very hero-like of him, would it? Spencer could almost be as bad as Angeal was about what it means to be hero; except the Moogle dictated it often as if it were a definition in a dictionary.]

[Sephiroth is a little further along the railing, propped on his forearms admiring the view as well.]

[With a slightly wistful look, she allows her feet to rest on the flooring again - although her attention remains on the clouds below.]
Aaaaah, airships are nice, but I wish there was some way we could fly on our own, too!

[He agrees with her in kind, but at least that heavy sense of responsibility is quashed some as Yuuki puts feet back on the wooden floor of the deck. It would take a great deal more of an accident for her to be knocked overboard now.]
Hm. [Musing, Sephiroth's own gaze rises from the landscape of the horizon higher into the clouds as well.] On our own? That would be something.

[Though if it were up to her, she'd probably want wings over a flying pet. There's just something about the sensation of keeping yourself aloft, smoothly transitioning from a hover to true flight...

In a smooth motion, he steps back from the railing and draws himself up into his full height. Looking down at the girl curiously. Wondering what role she plays in all of this.]

[Grabbing a group of friends to go flying to the next place... Yeah, that would be great.
When she notices his movement, she detaches herself from the railing to look up at him. Of course, with the height differences, she has to tilt her head back quite a bit to face him properly.]

Eyes trail along the grain of the wood as he remembers something vividly, yet the memory itself is almost painful. The otherwise wrinkle-less skin between his eyebrows creases together while whatever the thought was draws a frown, and then he finally looks back up -though admittedly doesn't have to look far- to face Yukki again.]

[Pause, a lingering awkward silence hangs before Sephiroth decides to ask anyway.]
Did you fly before? Where ever it is you came from.

[And she means it honestly, even if her voice is full of laughter.]
Hmmm... Sort of? I mean, it felt like I was flying, even if it was all virtual. It's hard to explain, but, [her hands move to her head, indicating placing something like a circlet or a hat on] I was hooked up to a machine that made you believe you were flying. It made it seem like you were in a whole new world, even though I was really just lying down in bed.
[But her chest puffs up with excitement nevertheless.]
It's so weird, though! Even though it was all fake, I look exactly like I did in that virtual world now that I'm here. If I could get my wings to work, I probably could fly again! Strange, huh?
[Not helped by the fact that she... doesn't actually appear to have any wings to speak of.]

[It's not that he's trying to burst her bubble, though Sephiroth can do that naturally by his manner which is cooly logical most of the time.]

Normally they look kind of like bat wings. You can take them out and put them away whenever you need them. But ever since I got here, they've been locked away!
[She purses her lips, clearly unhappy with this situation. She didn't fly all the time, but it was a lot of fun when she could...
It made for interesting fights, too.]

Sephiroth isn't the best at delivering reassuring smiles, though. The light smile is more polite than reassuring. He wasn't to know why that would be, or if Yuuki just has an overactive imagination.]

None of the jobs here fit exactly what I'm used to, but there's supposed to be even more than the ones we know about now, right? I don't mind spears, but I hope I can find some different ones, too!

Had he unknowingly slipped into a coma or something? Worrying. Yet he felt just as sharp minded as ever.
He frowns a little, an easier expression than the smile, at Yuuki's terms. Tank. Healer. Huh? There were terms for such combat-roles? First he's heard.]
It's not even about that. Spen- [He stops, to correct, shouldn't get too familiar with the strange pink fluffball.] -my mog told me that Jobs can be changed around.

Ooh, yes! Christa told me something like that, too! [And she reaches over to the moogle accompanying her at that moment, giving it an affectionate (if clearly unappreciated) pat. She really has no problem at all with being friendly to anyone she meets, human or not.]
But that just goes along with what I was saying, doesn't it? Each Job is useful, so you can't really go wrong by learning how to use more than one. But at the same time, teaming up with people who use different Jobs will make it easier because then you have access to a ton of different skills that you can't use all at once by yourself. And that's how you complete quests that are too hard to do solo!

Sephiroth's moogle, Spencer, is currently stood a ways away from him, along the railing. While interested in Sephiroth's interaction with Yuuki, it seems the small fluffball has already learned not to crowd up to the silver haired man.]
There is nothing wrong with self-competency. [Sephiroth has done fine on his own without a 'troupe' around him so far. Still, it's all rather new still and hasn't been without difficulty.]
Though I do appreciate your point as well.

'Course not! But since we're all in this together, it's more interesting to team up and work with some friends, don't you think? If everyone gets used to coordinating with each other, you can all learn different Jobs so you'll be prepared for anything!
--But that's what I think, anyway. I'm still looking to see if anyone wants to party together every so often.
