1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.

2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.

3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.

4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.

5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.

6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.

7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.

9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!

10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

12/ Events of the Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to capture a Chocobo during Crystalis de Chocobo, maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility, or maybe you'd like to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have liked to regain your true power and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles. Or how about participating in Christmas at Crystallis or fighting in a war for the warriors among you?

13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

Lina Inverse | Slayers Try | Be gentle, yeah?

[3 | Neighborhood woes]

[She's far from being a chef, but she can make do. Living on the road made it so you had to learn how to fend for yourself. Defend yourself from bandits. Get your own food. Cook it to the point that you don't get sick and die from food poisoning.

In the kitchen of her new, temporary, housing, Lina has a stack of cooked fish - which look more like charcoal than edible food - and said pile is as tall as she standing upright atop the table, blocking out the seated figure of the teenage female, who is busy eating each one in three bites or less. Look on the up-side, she is at least chewing her food, albeit a little aggressively.]

[9 | Random Encounter]

[It wasn't true. The little ball of fluff didn't know what he was talking about. She was the great and powerful sorceress Lina Inverse. There was no way she had lost her magic powers after arriving in this strange new place. And while she hadn't entirely been searching for a fight to prove otherwise, coming across the weird bat-looking creature was incentive enough to prove the little fuzz-ball wrong.]

Lets start things off with a bang. [Knuckles crack together before her right hand extends outward, palm upward.] Oh, source of all power, light which burns beyond crimson, let thy power gather in my hand. FIRE....BALL!

[Instead of a bright, fiery ball of pain and collateral damage, there is nothing. Not so much as even a spark. Just an empty palm and utter disappointment.]

This can't be! Why can't I -?

[Oh. Right. The monster.]

Ahaha...right. Well, would you look at the time. Sorry I can't stay and chat, but I gotta go!

[Its the only verbal cue given before Lina has turned tail and run. She's gotta figure out this whole 'magic powers are missing' thing before she ends up getting killed. Which might be an issue, since the monster is chasing her and she's wanting nothing to do with it.]

He could smell the burned food from several doors away. Kenshin sighed to himself before he got into the house and made his way to the kitchen, his purchases hanging off the pole he had slung over his shoulders. He set them down gentlly and looked at the table and the pile of very well-down fish before leaning over and prodding the pile with his index finger. No, he wasn't surprised as the whole mess went tumbling down.

"The one would be more than willing to cook for everyone," he said, his tone a little on the light side. Kind he could be but he still felt the urge to tease about the fish. "Unless one enjoys the taste of ash and soot in one's food."

The awful din was enough to curl the hair on the back of his neck, making the usually cool and collected detective turn about on his heels to see the young woman yelling above the tranquility of nature. Before he has the time to give a response, the middle-aged man is off in a run as loafer do little to impede his speed.

When he rounds the corner, he spots the source of the screaming, drawing into his pocket to reach for his revolver.

...

With no success.

Looking about the ground, the Lieutenant reaches for a thick branch, dropped by the trees overhead for such an occasion. Taking it up like a baseball bat, he comes behind the somewhat intimidating looking beast, cracking it over the head with a fell "SWOOP" before the branch breaks in half. The monster spreads out upon the soil with a deep groan, knocked cold by the years of stickball that its attacked had amassed while in his youth.

"Ain't that somethin'. They got monsters here, too. Only they're a bit more on the gruesome side, with sideburns and dirtier shirts."

Dropping the rest of his impromptu weapon, the Lieutenant raises a hand and calls out to the would-be magic user.

"Uh- M'am! Excuse me, Miss! There's no need to run now! I uh-, I got the critter for ya', so no worries, huh? You uh-.. You all right? I could see why that'd be quite a scare, ya' know. But uh.." His hands pad around the worn-out trench coat her wears, digging into the opposite pocket as a smile comes to his lips upon finding the sought after identification. He flips it open, revealing his badge and picture identification. "Name's Columbo. I'm a detective with the Los Angeles Police Department, though I doubt that has any swing here. I'm ah- I'm a cop, ya' see. I couldn't help but overhear your swan song on the other side o' the hedges here and figured I'd do my part. Public safety and all of that, no trouble at all, I assure you."

[As Lina turns, a spear arcs through the air just barely missing her cheek. It crashes into the body of the monster and pins it to the ground, the monster squirming the last of its hp away.

In front of her a huge man in a red tunic laughs with his hands on his hips.
]

Hahaha! One side, lad! Watch how a real hero and hunter does things. Feel free to take notes!

Do you need help with cooking that?

[His voice is soft as he walks within the kitchen. He isn't a master chief but Tiz knew his way around a kitchen. His years as a farmer have prepared him for the domestic life.

He eyed his roommates food for a moment before glancing around the large stack.]

It seems to be a little burnt.

[He might have been blunt but then no one every accused Tiz of being smooth.]

[The night prior had been a rough one, and what little sleep Tifa had earned was abruptly disturbed by the sound of frantic food-preparations. With a tank top covering her top, and not minding to do much about her bottom half aside from a pair of under-shorts, the brunette came down the stairs to turn the corner towards the kitchen.

Doing her best to rub the exhaustion from her eyes, the boxer blinks, rubbing her eyes again to make sure they were in working order, and then blink again.

She'd barely remembered the name of her new house mate when she speaks it, taking a long sniff as the smell of burnt fish permeates the bottom floor of their shared space.]

Li.. Lina, was it? Just wh- What are you doing?
