1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.
2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.
3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.
4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.
5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.
6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.
7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.
8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.
9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!
10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.
11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

She looked around at the scattered books. "Can we still take these to your room?" Not that she was going to help but she is sure Mooshoo will for her.

The scattered books were only a small part of the problem and he was certain that he was going to bruise and feel the pain later on once the adrenaline wore off. Baralai took a look around to spot the scattered books from the top of the stairs to the ground floor.
He stood up and started to gather the books. "I'll take them. I was clumsy and you nearly got hurt."

She thought about helping him with the books but instead she just kicked one towards Baralai so that it was with in his reach. Mooshoo flew around and began to hover next to her and shook his head. "You should be more careful..."
The moogle eyed Baralai a moment while collecting his thoughts. "You don't have someone to heal you..."

"I should put my studies to use and mix my own potions." At least he could do that.
Lora sighed and shook her head. "You won't live long if that's all you can do."

She was about to protest when he held up a little moogle nub. "It's your fault..."
Yuffie turned away from her moogle and pouted. "Fine, Fine, Fine." She picked up about five books and looked up at Baralai.
"Where too then?"

Lora wasn't too pleased that she had to stay so close to what she thought was a boring hero but in reality he hadn't shown his true colors yet to give her any reason to change her mind.
With a huff, Lora wasn't too thrilled to stay in the room with him and looked to Yuffie. "Can you teach me ninja things?"

Yuffie perked up at Lora's request curiously. "I can only teach those willing to follow me and fight for the glory of Wutai!"

Baralai chuckled with a shake to his head as he opened the door to his room. He figured that she would like the bigger room which was fine with him. Aside from the fact that she was living there first and he was the invader seemed appropriate.
"I think our most gracious host means to say is that you must give your loyalty to her before she will teach you. I don't think it's a problem, but then I'm left without a moogle." Baralai said calmly. "Unless we all decide to team up which would make matters less confusing."

"If you want me on your team THAT badly. I can't say no but we follow my rules." She smiled and then dumped the books unto Baralai's bed.

Baralai shrugged. It wasn't like he hadn't been involved in ridiculous schemes before in his life but the idea of having something fun to do wasn't a bad idea either to break up the monotony. In spite of being stuffy, he did like to have fun when he had the time to breathe.
"Lead the way." He half expected whatever was on Yuffie's mind would go badly and someone had to keep an eye on her. He doubted the moogles were strong enough to keep her from getting hurt.
He watched her dump the books on his bed and sighed with a slow shake to his head. He placed the books on the small table and moved to pick up the books she dumped. "Besides, more eyes on the prize is better than just two, right?"

The question she asked quieted his thoughts of seeking knowledge and possibly some spheres that contained memories of a past long forgotten had been pushed aside. His expression softened and his chin became hidden buy the collar of his robes. "I'm sorry. I wish I knew the answer. Jessie could bring stuff back from home at a price but sending things I didn't think to ask."

Yuffie's idea of an alliance puts herself in charge so she already has orders and plans swimming around in her mind. It was nice to have someone who might actually listen to her and do stuff but she doesn't see him being all that sneaky.

"Once you get better you can try and sneak up on Mooshoo. He's pretty good at spotting though." Yuffie considered herself to good at it for her to mention herself in the listing. It wouldn't be fair to the moogle.

"I accept the challenge." Baralai said smoothly while Lora cheered.
"You can count on me, kupo!"
Everything devolves into food.
Yuffie had be going to stairs to get food in the first place and was surprised to find Baralai. Now that the initial surprise is gone, hunger was taking over.
Doesn't it? *thuds*
Food didn't sound like a bad idea and the decision was made. He walked toward the kitchen and looked around to see if there was anything that could be used but sadly, he realized he wasn't able to do anything even if he found something to make. He left the kitchen and moved toward the door. "I have a bit of gil from a job I did yesterday. Let's go."
Admitting that he can't cook to save his own life and almost literally wasn't necessary.
Lots of FOOD!
She jumped down the stairs with a smile and raced out the door, stopping only a moment for Baralai to catch up.
"When I was out the other day I smelled something super yummy in town!"
And both of our threads have this topic. It's so important. :D
Her energy was super high in comparison to his own which was amazing and super fun. He was reminded of Gippal and Rikku just then and while he didn't know the latter that well, the former was one of his best friends. True friends were hard to come by in Bevelle that didn't have some motive to stab another in the back at any given moment. He didn't get that impression with Yuffie. She seemed genuine if not a bit strange.
He fell in step with her even though she was partly running. He wasn't the type to show off what he could do even if it was a simple run. He would rather have others assume that he can't do a lot of things than show that he can and have those skills used against him.

Should she look back from time to time, he gave a weak smile but nothing more. On the surface he seemed fine but underneath was something darker and it plagued him, at least for a short while until Lora swooped by his head and his thoughts were temporarily derailed.
He looked back to see what might have caused her to move by him so fast but saw nothing out of the ordinary with a stepping turn to scan the area they had just walked by.
