1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.
2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.
3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.
4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.
5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.
6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.
7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.
8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.
9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!
10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.
11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.
12/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

He sat up, his moogle hovered close by, her tiny body seemed even smaller next to her larger hero and he looked rather strange as well. "Kupo?"
Caius' head snapped to the side toward the source of the small sound, beads rattled against each other with a deepened scowl. He wasn't pleased. "Speak."
The moogle shuddered and tried to hide from the dark knight-white mage. For now, he was in heavy black armor covered in spikes with Chaos' Revenge on his back. The wicked blade that he had given to Lightning was returned to him and that was not what he wanted at all. He was a shepherd of souls and yet again he was called to action by another force. He was irritated and rationally so. He had done his time and paid his dues. He could feel his hear beating again, the wind on his face and the sun. These things were dead to him long ago when he merged with Bahamut and lost his body to the Eidolon.
He stood up and grabbed the moogle to see if it was real that soon vanished with a squeak, only to reappear on the other side of the fountain. "I quit!"
Caius seemed a bit shocked but scoffed instead. He cast his gaze around the area and people were staring at the newest Hero of Light that looked more like a Menace from the Depths of Hell. Well, no sense standing around. His footfalls were heavy from the armor and he was tall, strongly built and powerful yet proud and confident.
After several minutes and quite a few stares, the moogle returned with her pom-pom lowered. She made a mistake and she was reprimanded for leaving her assigned hero. "S-sorry. I-I'm Lilika."
"Hm." Caius said nothing but gave a nod while he was trying to sort the matter out himself. "This is not Valhalla nor the Realm of the Dead." That much was very obvious.
She shook her head and responded meekly. "This is a place called Aqures Ixen. You're on a world called...um...Crystallis."
Caius' eyes narrowed and hardened in his gaze with a growl in his throat that rumbled. He wasn't pleased to hear that name and since he never slept through death, he saw everything and knew that he was brought here. His last memory was releasing the last Yeul into Noel's care, a set-up that he orchestrated so she could be free. Could it be possible that he was reborn by Yeul's will? No, he didn't want to think that was the case.
Something was off. Way off and he couldn't sense anything from the Chaos. In fact, he couldn't summon it. He couldn't make any sense of this place other than some familiar things around. He knew that moogles existed. He had seen them but they served the pure. He was far from pure. "What is my purpose?" He thought to ask Lilika.
She seemed startled then and backed away. She was timid even for a moogle. All others were far braver than she was and she wasn't sure if she should answer and feared for her little life. "Y-you're a Hero of Light...a protector of peace."
Caius' dark laugh was chilling and soft but cold. "Peace?"
There were others far better suited for the job. He could scarcely recall being a hero long ago in an ancient past but that has yet to be recounted here in this new world. He walked passed Lilika and decided it was better to find the answers himself.

She carried her helmet by her side, revealing her red hair. While she didn't need her powers to function, it had been a century or so since she didn't have powers. She had been trained in cases where a power-neutralizing situation happened but no matter amount of training covered the "get dropped into a different world where everyone thinks you're a Hero of Light" scenario. It's strange how her husband or anyone else from her own world wasn't sucked into this world either. She just had to believe they'd be okay without her for now. A sigh came out from her. "Well, it seems pointless to complain at this point. Just gotta roll with it, I guess."
"You know, you're taking this all rather well, kupo," the moogle hovered next to her. Saori smiled and reached over to scratch the moogle behind her ears. The little fuzzball giggled and flew in closer to sit on her shoulder."You're going to do good here, kupo!"
"Well, this sort of reminds me of the work I do back home but a different method and from the beginning. Nothing like a little experience grinding to get that fixed."
no subject
"Perhaps." He said calmly, though his moogle was startled and she squeaked to hide behind one of the benches nearby.
The dragoon armor was a familiar sight. His own was packed away but the shy moogle, Lilika, and he never thought to ask for it. The ridges from his own dark knight's armor created hard, visible lines over his body that made him appear just that much more menacing. There wasn't much he could do about it but it accompanied his sword in an almost perfect match.
He scoffed softly with his eyes closed and a dip to his chin. She had made a good point and gods had a way of throwing tantrums when they didn't get their way. He was still quite young in comparison to the others but he didn't feel the need to discuss that part of himself just yet.
"It is a matter of adaptation that I will do well to remember."
no subject
Saori laughed sheepishly. She honestly didn't think anyone was listening in. "I'm glad someone thinks the same thing. Did you just arrive here too? "
no subject
It never got old for him to see the reactions of new faces upon sight of his less than sociable appearance. His moogle was afraid of him and that was nothing new and coupled with her reaction, he smirked.
"Yes, though I must wonder why I was chosen. You are curious as well?" In actuality, it was startling to him about the beings responsible for turning him into a low level fighter once again. It was staggering yet he still thought it nothing more than a test. He was starting to believe that it was Yeul's doing as a reward for his service, if it could be called as such.

It didn't make sense for her to be here when there was so much work to be done. She knew for sure she didn't die again. She was just at home with the twins before she landed here.
"Still, it doesn't change the fact we're stuck here and not going back home anytime soon. So our only option is to do the hero thing and save this world. Maybe along the way we can do research if there's another way out. I'm Saori, by the way. "
no subject
That was a mistake and with a completely human body again he felt pain. He retracted his hand quickly and instead of yelling out from the pain, he smiled.
This wasn't a dream concocted by some strange god that he would most likely never meet. He was alive and quickly he turned toward Saori. "I am Caius."
no subject
"A pleasure to meet you, Caius. You definitely look the warrior part. How about you and I have a spar one of these days?" If there's something she knew about fighters, a spar or two can help in many ways. Plus, it would be a good way to test this job system she heard about.

Caius saw what Lilika was doing and turned his attention away from the shy little moogle.
"Are you certain you can keep up?" He added with a smirk that seemed dark and had spoken volumes.
Perhaps he was flirting but there was something else behind the grin. "Perhaps when matters have settled we shall test each other's strength."
no subject
"Funny, I think that should've been my line. I'm already looking forward to it," Saori said with a confident grin on her face. Even though she didn't have her powers, her experience over the years could easily pick up these hints about him. He was definitely promising in more ways than one.
"Oh my kupo, Saori, are you flirting with him? I don't believe this, kupo!" Brigid whispered to Saori, who promptly covers Brigid's mouth with her hand.
no subject
While he knew he had to be more careful, there were some things that he wouldn't mind risking and a little flirtatious banter never hurt. It was actually pretty refreshing. His eyes quickly scanned her petite yet strong frame and there was a bit of interest there.
Lilika had never seen a hero this predatory before and it made her instantly nervous. "H-hi. I'm Lilika. My hero is a cannibal." She felt like crying just then.
"Hm, we shall see." His voice was low but dark with a bit of playfulness hidden in the tone. He circled around her and Lilika was shaking as she clung on to Brigid. "Make him go away..."
"The matter at hand has me rather perplexed." He stopped and this time the flirtatious glint was gone in a flash once he was satisfied with what he saw. "What world do you hail from?"
no subject
Rather than letting his circling around her intimidate her, she reached for the moogles. Gently she began to rub Lilika's back like how a mother soothed a crying child. Brigid held onto her and refused to let go until she calmed down.
"It goes by the name of Earth but that seems to be a common name even though our worlds greatly vary. Mine's a beautiful but cruel world where the supernatural and gods work and fight behind the scenes of the living and that is all I'll say for now."
no subject
The reality he faced was that his world was gone. Completely and utterly gone. In order to save what was left, he made the choice to end his life, entropy swallowed up what was left and he had no where to go but linger for 500 years in a temple that no longer had any meaning. He refused to be saved and for good reason. He was beyond death and his soul corrupted, he no longer had a soul recognizable to be saved. There was no life left in him the moment he gave his last breath on the shores of Valhalla and he had nothing more to give.
"Humph." He snorted with a lift to his chin. He wasn't about to discuss what happened. Everything changed and being called a hero wasn't something he had in mind. In fact, he hated it. His days as champion of Paddra was long in the past. His desires weren't his own anymore and that bothered him greatly.
"Are you willing to accept this given task?" Caius wasn't so easily convinced. He turned his head to look over his shoulder at Saori.
Lilika cried in Saori's arms in soft whimpers. She felt nothing from Caius but a cold and callous heart and it hurt just being around him.
