Please have him beg Ales to pilot the Enterprise. Also the deal with Pakku storming off to save Luffy has to be discussed. Would Luffy think it was noble of him?

Luffy'll be a bit surprised at Ales telling his Moogle to "do something about it" when he's only ever known Ales to not try and do something so rash.

Well, Ales doesn't want to do something rash by himself, but if someone else does, good for him.

Will Luffy need extra convincing to keep that airship, though?

It's not so much if he WANTS to keep it as it is with him being ABLE to keep it.

Waiting to see how things resolve to see where it goes. I've been clamoring for Luffy to get a hold of a ship for months, but I need to PM the mods and/or see what unfolds coming into the next month.
