Auron had been traveling, getting the lay of the land in this new world (his third in his life?) and came across the black-haired man with the gun and the goblins. He seemed to be holding his own well enough, so Auron stayed back to get out of the line of fire.

Except the goblins (not fiends, as much as he still liked calling them that) weren't giving up their pursuit. "I think they're too stupid to realize they're in danger," he said.
