— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompt below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!
1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.
2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.
3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.
4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.
5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.
6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.
7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.
8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.
9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!
10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.
11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.
12/ Events of the Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to capture a Chocobo during Crystalis de Chocobo, maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility, or maybe you'd like to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have liked to regain your true power and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles. Or how about participating in Christmas at Crystallis or fighting in a war for the warriors among you?
13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

4/7/9
Honestly, Vincent was glad to see that some things remained the same. Moogles actually weren't creatures in a videogame, this world ran on crystals, he had to relearn all his hard-fought and trained for skills--but there were still chocobos.
His moogle, Ophelia, at least was aware enough at the moment to sense he was not in the mood for listening to her chatter. She'd already told him all the details about his new 'life', and his destiny! It was so poetic, according to her.
Vincent was more inclined to focus on the basics. Trekking out to the farm (and vaguely disappointed it wasn't the farm he knew), and... They didn't use greens? Crystals again? He took the purple 'lure' from the old man, and eyed it skeptically. Ophelia was chattering away again, going on about how he'd look so heroic on a chocobo. Especially if they could get a Red one! It'd be so dramatic with his hair and cape!
Vincent sighed, checked his gun and ammo, and headed out on foot. As they got closer to likely places, he hushed Ophelia. Warning her that no, they'd be likelier to GET a rare chocobo if she didn't scare them all away first. Her eyes had rounded, but she had gone quiet and activated his lure.
Airship Explorations!
Vincent missed the Highwind. Airships weren't new to him, but in a world that was both familiar and not, he missed the comfort of the familiar. He even missed Cid's language, which was a bit surprising. Still it was the best way to get to other major hubs of activity, and continue his exploration.
Ignoring how the wind whipped his hair around, and fanned out his cloak; he'd kind of missed the view.
Cue Battle Music (Random Encounter)
Vincent took careful aim, side-stepping and moving slightly back as one of the goblins as it feinted towards him. The sound of his gun echoed, driving it back and causing a chattering amongst the others. This was more annoying than anything else.
Apparently a small group of them had decided he looked like a good victim. They were finding out differently as he kept his distance from them while taking shots. They'd only managed to get part of his gil when one dared too close, and frankly he was hoping to scare them off soon.
Annoying.
Chocobo
Yuffie was riding atop a yellow chocobo with her moogle fluttering close behind. He didn't seem so thrilled at Yuffie's new burst of energy after hearing a strange silent hero in a red cloak appeared. Of course it was Vincent, who else would it be? So she rush off to met him.
As the chocobo approached it gave no indication of stopping. Instead Yuffie jumped from the saddle tackling Vincent with a wide hug.
"Your here! That's so awesome!"
[ooc: Was almost tempted to tag Yuffie sick on an Airship.]
Re: Chocobo
Of course, with the sound of chocobo feet stampeding, he readied himself. Apparently this lure thing was as good as a green. Firearm ready, just in case it wasn't alone, but Vincent kept his hands up placatingly.
Until the illusion was shattered by a cry, and a form launching at him. Ophelia yelped with a kupo and took cover, deactivating the lure as the chocobo seemed to have no intention of stopping. Vincent hardly had time to actually recognize who the projectile was, before he was hit around the chest and waist, tackled down to the ground.
An 'oof', with the impact, and a blink before turning to look at who'd assaulted him. Who would even know him out here? Familiar dark hair, and with the boisterous nature, it could only be...
"Yuffie." He answered calmly, stating as if it was a fact.
Re: Chocobo
She looked up at him with a wide smile completely unconcerned with what he might have been doing a moment before. She kicked her feet lightly hitting his shins wither her toes as she spoke.
"You finally made it here! What took you so long?!" Not that everyone was here just yet but Yuffie was secretly counting on it. Of course she doesn't know what time this Vincent was from but that didn't really concern her at the moment.
She was just happy he was here.
Re: Chocobo
"I'm fine, Ophelia." Reassuring her, as she ventured out to come flutter around him and Yuffie in the tangled pile. "Could you start from the beginning?" Because why was she acting like he was expected?

Random Encounter
"You know," he said and leaned on the staff. "If I still had the Force Galactic within me, we'd be rid of these goblins the second we spotted them. Just one thought, and that's it. Though, instead of killin' 'em, I'd probably just send 'em over to the Empire and bring trouble over there."
Without a second attacker, another goblin was slowly makings its way closer to the party. Barkeep gave it no mind.
"Don't know why--or even how--they took it away from me. Must be one of those cosmic energy beings livin' 'round these parts. Probably took my powers away for fear that I'd misuse them."
Re: Random Encounter
With the secondary 'shot' from his companion, it seemed now the goblins were getting the idea that he was NOT easy prey. Chattering amongst themselves, but eyeing their opponents warily. Vincent wasn't taking his eyes off of them either.
no subject
The goblins had decided since attacking those two one by one would only get them all killed, charging at them together at once would be a better option. They still looked afraid, but they also had plenty of sharp daggers to give them courage.
"Welp. Looks like they're back for more," he sighed heavily. "Ready when you are."
no subject
Calmly, Vincent raised his gun and took careful aim. Waiting, eyes focused as he tracked just behind the first goblin in the center of the pack, gauging. Closer, and then Crack!
The gunshot rang out, with a faint-echoing after crack of Thunder. Striking the close-pair of goblins in the center of the pack. The smell of Ozone and burnt flesh wafted in the air.

Random Encounter
Therefore, due to his skills as a Scholar, Sephiroth had begun to be able to tell when that particular habit overcame the Goblins that he had spent the afternoon pestering himself. Having tracked those that had vacated his area, it was the gunshot that first alerted Sephiroth that they had indeed found another someone to bother. It also gave him a direction to head in.
As Vincent readied himself to fire again, a cool yet charged mist of a buff (Mad Scientist) washed over him as Sephiroth stepped into the fray.
"Pesky things, really. Yet so predictable really-"
A broadsword --not Masamune, Vincent might be surprised to note-- was drawn from a sheath at his belt as Sephiroth primed a Power Break before diving in at one of the Goblin that tried to take advantage of the break in combat.
Re: Random Encounter
This would change the game up, as he dove and rolled to avoid a Goblin who'd attempted to come at him.
Re: Random Encounter
"Hm." Sephiroth doesn't chase them too far, and comes to a stop as it becomes obvious that they are all falling back. He flicks the bangs to his hair more of his eyes and both sheathes his weapons and stands back upright, the great fall of his hair falling neatly back into place behind him.
Then he turns and looks for the marksman that had been fighting with him. Of course, he's no clue who Vincent even is.
"Good job."
Re: Random Encounter
There was no recognition from the other, of who he was. What did that mean, exactly? No great sword, and no signs of fevered-purpose and hints of insanity to be found, as Vincent had studied him quickly.
Another second, before holstering the fire-arm at his side. Today, at least, there was no need or reason to fight Sephiroth. "I'm used to it. Hadn't expected a pack." His own way of offering thanks, if not explicitly so at the moment. "Not used to being as unskilled as I currently am."
Had to be the 'job' thing, and the crystal, and how he'd arrived. Never mind he knew, and FELT like he'd KNOWN how to do more. Having to relearn or retrain some of his skills would be a pain.

airship~
Red braids streaming out behind him, his much-abused coat snapping at his heels as he turned, he read LOVELESS out-loud and managed to avoid anyone that tried to get in his way. The small moogle trailing after him often would apologize to those that jumped out of his way before fluttering up to scold Genesis, but otherwise seemed to be more resigned to anything he did. She had grown very use to the former SOLDIER's ways over the past few months so was not at all surprised when he stopped to address Vincent with a quote from his book.
"My friend, do you fly away now? To a world that abhors you and I? All that awaits you is a somber morrow, no matter where the winds may blow."
"Sorry, kupo!"
Re: airship~
It wasn't intrusive yet, nor was it interrupting his own enjoyment of the view over the rail.

Being talked about without his permission had Genesis make a kind of huffing sound before he snapped the book closed and turned on his heel. Of course this meant that he was actually looking at the guy in front of him, which meant that he suddenly, and with no real explanation, began to snicker.
"Oh, this is rich. So, so, rich."
no subject
Turning, Vincent looked the other up and down covertly. Assessing, and no--this man didn't look familiar at all. Nor could he recall if the name Genesis had come up for him before.
Speaking to the moogle. "I'm used to it." Then back to watching the other, expression neutral.

9 - Sorry not sorry
And, really, the guy fighting off the group of goblins was not only wasting time, but ammo. And that was akin to committing a crime. You never know when you'd be wishing for that wasted bullet.
Using the speed that came with her Dragoon class, Elena speeds into a full sprint before launching herself up over the head of the marksman, the hood of her monk attire keeping the majority of her face and hair hidden.
"Incoming from above!"
Her landing comes hard and audible with a deep 'thud' sound, causing the group of goblins to separate as she all but placed herself in the center of the pack. She pauses only for a second to look back at the man behind her, thumbing the smaller grouping that were chattering nosily from her sudden appearance.
"Take the left. I'll get the right."
No need to BE sorry. :D
His eyes never wavered from where they watched the group, even as he heard the shout of warning. A pivot and step to the side, more towards the left as he nodded. Careful aim, and the crack of a gun-shot, along with a squealed yell, and one goblin picked off from the scattered grouping now.
XD
The sound of gunfire was hardly foreign to Elena, which meant that she could maintain her own internal rhythm. With the gunner on the slightly larger of the two groups, she could turn her attention to the trio she had assigned herself. A deep, cleansing breath later and she's on the offensive, landing blow after blow until the first is KOed and the remaining two look unsure about their new opponent.
Re: XD
A jump, turning in the air and firing, as one goblin lunged at him. Landing in a crouch, gun brought up to bear to his right. Trigger pulled, the crack of gunfire accompanied by the roar of a fire-spell. Distraction and damage in one, as Vincent moved. Followed by two more quick cracks in the air, and two more goblins down. Pulling back a bit, eyes wary, as he prepared to reload on the fly.
Cue battle music -- if it's not too late
Except the goblins (not fiends, as much as he still liked calling them that) weren't giving up their pursuit. "I think they're too stupid to realize they're in danger," he said.
Not at all. Hello fellow terse-red-coated one!
It was annoying, but he'd been a skilled marksman before and there was no gap in his memories of how to do this. A pivot and side-step, targeting as he moved, red cloak fluttering slightly. Careful aim, and waiting almost too long before there was the crack of a gunshot. One goblin down, crumpling to the ground like a puppet whose strings had been cut.

Especially when they started chanting, working themselves up into a frenzy. Auron had no idea who the stranger was, but had an inkling he wouldn't get through a rush of monsters without sustaining injury. The former warrior monk drew his katana, a far cry from the massive blade he'd been used to, but it was still a sword, therefore he could use it. He sprinted quickly to the back of the back and hacked one down.

The crack of gunfire sounding in the air, hitting flesh and targets. Vincent would analyze and be annoyed later that it hadn't seemed as easy as he was used to. It was still enough, for now.
