1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.

2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.

3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.

4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.

5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.

6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.

7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.

9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!

10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

12/ Events of the Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to capture a Chocobo during Crystalis de Chocobo, maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility, or maybe you'd like to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have liked to regain your true power and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles. Or how about participating in Christmas at Crystallis or fighting in a war for the warriors among you?

This was highly awkward.

The government people had explained the situation to him once he had gotten his bearings: that everything was fairly packed now and that him and his moogle were going to have to double up. He understood, but it didn't make the situation less awkward as he stood before his new housemate, mentally fidgeting all over the place. On the outside, however, he had his usual neutral expression on his face, offering them a small bow as he stood on their doorstep.

"Hello; I've been told I'm living here now."

Because that was the best way to start a relationship with someone.

When they told him that he needed to ride on a giant bird in order to get around places, he thought they were joking. That was, of course, until Yu saw a chocobo for himself. He had stared up at the creature, feeling a little intimidated and half expecting that it was going to start treating his hair like a bowl of grey worms. Yu was almost grateful when the stableman said the chocobos he had in the farm were on reserve.

He accepted his Chocobo Lure and headed off to the forest outside of the farm, half expecting that he was either going to find nothing, or a super friendly bird that was going to help him prance off into the sunset.

So of course what he got was a bird that looked like it was going to leave claw prints all over his face. Yu actually let out a yelp when the creature charged, leaving him practically eating dirt as it bolted. He forced himself up once the bird passed, and he almost left his moogle behind as he bolted after the charging bird, struggling to catch up with it. Taking a chance, he made a leap toward the bird's back... only to land in the dirt again.

So... Chocobo Wrangler was definitely not on his list of possible job choices while here.

Complete and utter trash.

This entire district was cramped, dirty, and beneath him. He had demanded they shift some other nonsensical 'hero' out of their dwelling in order for him to have one he deserved. Why would Gilgamesh, the King of Heroes room with anyone? Apparently it didn't go over well when he told them the world was his as the very first king and he should have his demands met. Fortunately he had a little servant that he didn't mind, these moogles as they call them, but he had no inclination to be involved in the altercations that transpired here. These idiots can clean up their own messes, thank you.

To him this was just another place he was stuck until a contract was fulfilled much the same as the Holy Grail War--only more boring.

"I'm expected to share?" He answers lazily, leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed over his chest. At least he had something casual to wear. And this unworthy peon wasn't so bad on the eyes. He could have been stuck with far worse, honestly. Yu did bow to him so that earns him some points. "Give me your name, Hero of Light." His tone may be a little sarcastic on the hero bit.

Yu didn't find the district bad at all, really. The closeness of the dwellings reminded him of home, and it didn't seem dirty at all. Sure, it was pretty terrible to get dragged to a place he wasn't expecting, but... well, diving into other worlds wasn't exactly anything new for him. Plus, the TV world never gave him an adorable moogle friend.

But this... guy; Yu couldn't help but lean back slightly as he leaned against the door frame. This guy was exuding confidence on a level that almost made him jealous. This kind of feeling must have been what Yosuke felt when he did the same thing; he was starting to understand his cries of, "Dude!" a lot better now.

"N-- Yu Narukami."

These streets were perfectly acceptable for peons but not for a man who wanted for nothing his entire life and well into his time as a Heroic Spirit. A drank when he wanted to he, her bedding the women he wanted to, and he spent his time how he pleased. Gilgamesh smiles, it's dazzling, charming. Something anyone would hope to see from a would-be roommate, except his smile has an edge.

"Ahh, Japanese." Could this be another magus or just a civilian? His curiosity may get the better of him. "Are you familiar with Fuyuki City?" Well, what's left of it anyway.

Somehow that smile made Yu feel even more intimidated. He somehow managed to keep a straight face, but he did lean back a little, almost like he was worried the man would try something. He wouldn't really, right...? He was just being like this to... scare him, maybe?

Just what kind of person did he just get stuck with...?

"I haven't heard of it, sorry," he answered after a moment. Sure, he had been dragged all over Japan because of his parents work, but he hadn't exactly been everywhere.

He would if given the opportunity and even when not. What he chooses to do is based on whim so there may be no way for Yu to properly avoid it.

"A minor curiosity." Still, he hasn't moved from the doorframe to let Yu in. Don't mind the moogle bobbling past Yu. She already has a few gold pieces of her own Gilgamesh has adorned her with as she slips past with a small bags. Saber is much more docile than her companion here at the door, and may pop back around just to scold Gilgamesh with those annoying 'kupos' to move.

"No one asked for you opinion." He comments lazily. Obviously she knows Yu is free to stay and Gilgamesh just isn't having it.

"I see..." Yu began, still standing there awkwardly. At least his moogle seemed to be more understanding of his presence than the human, but... well, this guy was bigger. And also still standing in his way.

"What's your name?" he finally asked.

It was something Celestia was used to: even in this world others seemed to bow to her despite her telling them not to. Yes she was royalty but in this world, she was a hero meant to help save this world and on equal footing now. Her title was not going to get her any special treatment nor did she want it to.

"If you're living here, there's no need to bow." she replied warmly. "We're equals so let's start out that way." and she opened the door more to let the young man in as well as his moogle.

"Ah... sorry, I just..." Yu began; he was used to being polite to people who were older, that was all. He trailed off awkwardly, glancing over at his moogle, before accepting the invitation inside.

She seemed to hold herself up like a noble but the fact that she was dressed much more casually at the moment was basically her being polite and trying to not throw that title around.

"I guess this is your first time going to another world?" Celestia, not many did world hops like you did calm down.

"Not... the first time," Yu replied. "Technically."

The TV world was a different world, even if it was the realm of the human unconscious. That still counted, right? After a moment, he just shook his head.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to offend," he continued. "Just it's polite to bow when you meet someone new where I'm from."

From right behind Yu, a voice can be heard, a curious one at that.

"Hrm, to think that they would bring my sister's fool here after the master. Unless, no I do not think she would risk her fool to find me, she isn't Theodore after all."

...well, that was a creepy voice to suddenly have behind him. Yu felt a chill run up his spine as he recognized it too, privately surprised that he wasn't getting smacked around immediately because she was bored, or something equally painful done out of pure whimsy.

After a moment, he turned to face her, somehow managing to keep a straight expression on his face.

"Hello, Elizabeth."

She smiles cheerfully, her eyes dancing in a way that is probably unnerving.

"Hello! It is quite curious you know, that I go out for a night of rambunctious combat and return only to find another fool here. Did my sister send you? Or perhaps the bear with my title belt?"

Unnerving would be the understatement of the century, but Yu tried not to dwell on it. There was enough weird about his current situation that he didn't need to worry about anything else.

"No, Margaret didn't send me," he replied; he wasn't even going to address Kagetsuchi. "I was brought here like everyone else was."

"Oh my. Well, have you been told the truth? What the moogles say? What the heroes say? Or come with more enlightenment than that?"

She tilts her head, "Or are you here as my new sparring partner! It has been rather dull some nights, especially as my prey of choice continues to elude me and the bevy of burritos I have as bait."

...as usual, he had no idea what she was talking about. And he really didn't want to know what exactly she was trying to do with burritos.

"A-actually, they ran out of housing, and we need to double up..." he replied. Somehow he had a feeling "sparring" partner was going to come into play with this arrangement no matter what he said.

"Oh yes! This is where I have been staying. It took forever to throw out the dead animal heads. Would you believe they were not even dangerous foes, so there really was no point in harvesting them to frighten others off. But the person who collected them was is gone. Funny considering he was a fairy tale that was never actually told."

She shrugs, "While I have not really concerned myself with the room beyond that it is down the hall. Near the food preparation area, yet that is empty. I have yet to transform last night's bounty into lunch."

There was a whole lot wrong with what she just said -- or rather, there was everything wrong with what she just said. Dead animal heads harvested by a previous tenant made him wonder one, that there was someone possibly scarier than her around and two, what the heck she did with him. Scarier than that, however, was the idea that Elizabeth was cooking; prior experience with woman told him that was a bad, bad thing in general.

And the fact that she had no idea what was going on in his room? Was walking straight into the unknown with all the intimidation of the Aiya Rainy Day Special.

"Ah... would you like me to prepare lunch?" he asked, hoping to stave off what his imagination was cooking up a little bit longer.

"Hrm, normally I just go and buy it. After all, the only trophies I bring back anymore are coins and the bakers, and chefs seem to take that with no reserve. While I have been studying how to make mortal food I am barely average in that endeavor."

She shrugs, "Still, honing one's skills is an effective method on any battle field. As for cooking, no, I have been called an insatiable monster by no fewer than 4 buffet owners here and wish not further add to your stress of arrival."

Great; now he has the mental image of Elizabeth clearing out an all you can eat buffet. It made him almost glad he met her when they were in the middle of the world potentially falling apart; he couldn't imagine what she would have done -- or made him do -- otherwise.

"Well, maybe later I can help you learn to cook," he replied. She... might be a quick learner? If she paid attention long enough anyway...

"Perhaps! I have all ready uncovered the techniques of toasting bread and preparing eggs sunny side up."

She ponders a bit, "And of course tiny burritos, but those are for my prey. Odd to think that something so mundane at home could be so terror inspiring here."

With that she shrugs.

Well, at least she knew how to do the easy stuff. Yu was fairly certain Rise would be able to find a way to make water too spicy if left to her own devices, and he didn't even want to think about what other monsters Chie and Yukiko could create together.

That burrito thing was coming up again, and now he had to be curious.

"What... exactly are you trying to bait with burritos?"

She shrugs and states matter of factly, "I am attempting to lure out a hamster, so that I may engage it in combat."

"A... hamster?"

The disbelief was easily heard in Yu's voice. First of all, why would anyone want to battle a hamster, second of all, why would burritos of all things be effective?
