Canon: Rune Factory 4
(Think Harvest Moon meets JRPGS. Farming shenanigans, dating, and even some dungeon crawling and plot added into the mix!)

Info: Part-time store clerk. Very easygoing, hot-blooded even, and has a penchant for goofing off and teasing people he likes. And complain about work. Is a dwarf. Yes, really. No, he's not a blacksmith - he absolutely sucks at forging and avoids the blacksmith job like the plague, so don’t even ask.

Contrary to popular belief, is actually an adult in his 20s. Yes, really. Not that anyone actually believes it, what with his appearance and how he acts. He’s actually relatively easy to get along with, providing you don’t do anything to piss him off. He’s hot-tempered like that.

Despite the easygoing exterior, he's also prone to running off and doing his own thing - and being rather secretive about it too.

Job(s): freelancer life 5eva, but I think he might have gotten Pirate from that last event however. I should update that!
Housing: A-13. If you're rooming with Doug, you ought to fear for your shared pantry just saying.

Moogle: Serina. She’s a moogle Doug took in after the mess with breaking out of the Heran Research Facility. She’s a bit shy and awkward with her words, but tries her best to keep Doug on track. Keyword: tries.

Status: Currently unknown. He's disappeared for a while now and has not been observed to be in crystal stasis - CR is certainly free to pick up on that.

Employment: Part-time item store clerk. Doug's not especially happy about it, but he sticks to what he knows and is good at. Occasionally can be found sleeping on the counter during slow days. Don’t worry! He’s a pro.

... Except he hasn't been showing up at work as of late.

Plans: He might turn up for the stuff going down at the end of the month. In all seriousness, I've been on hiatus the last month as it is and have been at a loss as for finding things he could do.

Desired CR: This guy needs bros to hang out with. Like serious. He's got his dumbass moments and someone needs to be there to stop him from there. He’s also good for negative CR (whether serious or absolutely ridiculous), as he’s not at all hard to annoy and/or piss off.

On the other hand, he’s not as stupid as he seems and does take the whole situation with Crystallis, the Empire, etc. very seriously. He is a former spy, after all, so investigative work and other underhanded related stuff isn’t beyond him. Those he can chat with on a serious level are more than welcome as potential CR too.

Shipping: Maybe, maybe not? He might flirt occasionally on a non-serious level, but actual relationships will throw him in for a hell of a loop. He's a serious dork when it comes to actual romantic matters.

To start Doug is freaking adorable. With that out of the way let us continue on ward!

I would love for Yuffie and Doug to interact more. I was thinking of having her get really hurt because of the keepsake that he had let her keep during the fight. Like it falls from its safe hiding place and she stops what she's doing to pick it up and get attacked. Cuz I'm an awful person like that lol. Even if that doesn't happen though I'd like more Doug and Yuffie. They can fight over the fact that she's a princess and doesn't look it. Or that she is shorter than Doug but I love their cute little spats of they are totally friends but banter a lot. Yuffie will be worried about him too because she does care... even if he's a meanie butt.

If you want CR that isn't so argumentative. AuYuna is around his age because she's been through a few games so she's in her twenties. She's also still shorter than him cuz I apparently always play short people so that would boost his confidence lol. The other idea is Terra because she has a shop as well. I can see them being shop buddies since he works as a store clerk. Though she isn't the easiest to talk to She's also short but there would be reasons to talk there. She also probably comes in to buy items for her kittens >.> often. the little rascals. So that might be fun. Let me know if any of this interests you! <3

Yuffie, he's going to be concerned as hell when he gets back. Probably yell a bit too. "Seriously, don't risk yourself for some trinket!"

In any case, I'm down for it. It's just not them if they don't find something to banter about. He still claims to not believe the princess thing, for one, but Yuffie's indeed someone he considers a friend by now. A friend that's fun to tease, of course, tee-hee.

Careful, Yuna, don't get him all overconfident now. He has his flirt moments, but as we know by now, isn't so good at taking what he dishes out. Terra's actually probably someone Doug would get along with just fine too - he'd do enough talking for the both of them, I'd imagine, and she'd probably be the type he'd be secretly concerned about.

I enjoy Yuffie and Doug yelling at each other. In all cases it’s very entertaining. And she sees him as a friend as well, an annoying friend whom she has to find more ammo for lol.

As for AuYuna or Terra. I’d be up for either or both. They would both be very different CR :D Just let me know. I think having Doug looking out for Terra would be cute because that’s a thing that I think is adorable! And she’s so cute!

Since some time has passed now, and with Doug disappearing, I would still be down for "hey remember that terrible dream, well i have ten thousand things to apologize for!!!" revelations. His disappearance might even be enough to prompt Meredy to just unleash about it at this point, since she would have feared that he died stasis'd before she got the chance to say anything...

Of course, this might be more appropriate after the battle if it comes to that too, but only if you're still interested, of course!

Don't sweat it, he's totally okay! He's just. Being himself and doing extremely dumb potentially risky things. The usual. He might actually turn up real soon, in fact.

I'm still down for it if you are! 'course, Doug's still holding onto that ring, so I'm down for him just giving it to her once the job's available. He's nice to kids (or rather people he considers/mistakes for kids see Yuffie) like that.

Being friends with a Tales of protag, Meredy has become accustomed to dumb and/or risky behaviour. Sometimes the two are not mutually exclusive, amirite? lol. If he turns up before the events she could spill the beans then out of pure necessity to get the weight off of her shoulders too, whatever works best!

I think it's adorable he's nice to kids tbh, so I would love to continue tossing Meredy his way! :)
