— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompt below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!

1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.

2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.

3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.

4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.

5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.

6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.

7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.

9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!

10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Cid to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

12/ Events of the Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to capture a Chocobo during Crystalis de Chocobo, maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility, or maybe you'd like to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have liked to regain your true power and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles. Or how about participating in Christmas at Crystallis or fighting in a war for the warriors among you?

13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

9. OMG had to tag this! Great Prompt btw!

[Roaring in the middle of a battle is so over dramatic. Sephiroth had never seen any point to it other than some macho attempt at appearing to be larger, more threatening. He grunts, on occasion, but that's all.

The wolf at the farthest point yelps as a long, thin blade of silver sweeps in from no where and catches the beast at it's stomach, flicking the beast up and away with the momentum.]

Try now-

[Sephiroth pulls Masamune back in closer to him as he lands a few feet away from the Adenturer. Handling his over-long sword as deftly as his maxed level of Dragoon, when-paired with Warrior, allows. It felt good to switch back to the Jobs he'd had to begin with and come out to cut loose a little. Though really there is no more experience to be gained in either.]

Re: 9. Thanks! I do my best after all

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-20 12:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[Such a weapon. Despite himself, the Adventurer got to his feet as he spun Bravura around. If using the abilities that his old Job Crystal hadn't worked, then perhaps muscle memory would prevail today.

Nodding at Sephiroth, he dove into battle once more, slashing into a Storms Eye Combo, absolutely decimating the enemy with each slash. The more natural responses of his fighting style were coming back, just a little with each motion.]

Thank you for the assist.

[Returning his attention, he noticed a few stray circling enemies, so whirling Bravura around his shoulder, he hurled it like a Tomahawk at the enemy, the weapon spinning like a boomerang to catch the strays before returning to his hand.]

[personal profile] shinrasfinest 2015-08-20 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[Muscle memory is perhaps the only thing a fresh hero has going for them, but as Sephiroth knows acutely from his own experiences it's never going to be exactly as it any one of them might expect it to be. The level of their Job very much dictates their capability even if the knowledge of complicated techniques is still retained.

The seasoned Hero watches as the man dove immediately back into battle, wielding the axe around as if the world were about to end. He had determination, Sephiroth had to grant him that.]

You're welcome.

[Sentinel-like, he hung back and only granted a sword strike in assistance when it looked as if the Adventurer might become overwhelmed.

After a while, and inevitably, exhaustion was bound to set in. The pack indeed was a lot larger than it had first appeared, drawn to the scent of the fallen monsters which might afford them their next meal.]

Heads up!

[Sephiroth called out before crouching low, armor plates bending not unlike how a Dragoon's might on Eorzea -except wielding a super-long sword instead of a lance. It had been much too long since he'd attempted this but-

Up he leapt, and hopefully the tank Adventurer would move a little in time for Sephiroth to perform his signature 'Hells Gate' maneuver, the long arching point of Masamune coming down first for the wolf right in front of the other man.]

Re: 9. >.<

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-21 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, you know, determination stat and all, he had plenty of them. When the prickle of power was felt on the back of his neck, the Adventurer began to move just as soon as Sephiroth called out. He could feel a Limit Break or at least something similar coming on, and by the time Sephiroth unleashed it, he would be well out of the way, diving to the side.

What he wouldn't have given for his own Limit Break at times.]
shinrasfinest: (Sweep)

9. >.<

[personal profile] shinrasfinest 2015-08-21 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[It hadn't been a limit break but the Adventurer would probably have gawked a hell of a lot wider if Sephiroth had unleashed the same. Despite all of the battles the silver-warrior had been in, during his tenure in Crystallis, his Limit -Supernova- had not yet been seen. Testament to his caution, in participating in combat that he was unfamiliar with the mechanics of. It'd been quite the step down, from mako-infused super soldier to not-even Level 1 Warrior / Dragoon when he'd arrived.

That had been over a year ago, though, and as the rush from the Jump maneuver burned away Sephiroth brought Masamune up and around him in a wide circle - catching a couple more of the wolves that had sought to use his landing as a chance to pounce. Before turning slightly so that he could leave half of their number for the Adventurer to finish off.]

Pickings must be slim for them, recently.

Re: 9. XD

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-21 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
It must have. For them to come out on the major routes.

[With most of the enemies defeated, the rest turned running as the Adventurers chocobo chased after one for a short distance before running back to them. It warked, amused as he finished off stragglers who tried to attack.]

They seemed determined to make a meal out of me. Thank you.
shinrasfinest: (Lowered lids down at)

9. ^_~

[personal profile] shinrasfinest 2015-08-21 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[As the Chocobo chased off the last of the remnants of the pack, Sephiroth slipped Masamune down and then up into a sheath which crossed his back at an angle, locking the strap around the base of the handle so that the great sword was secured away. That he did this, without severing a single thread of his long silver hair was almost an art form in itself.

-or it spoke of the experience that pretty much had shone out from his every pore during the battle.]

You're welcome. We should have to keep an eye on the major routes more often, it seems.

Re: 9. ^_~

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-21 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[The Adventurer slung Bravura across his shoulders, where it settled into his sheath as well. Although it was odd as it seemed to just "hover" there at first look. He nodded at the General and smiled a little.]

Perhaps I will secure a more hardened party then, and patrol the routes a little more. If there are wolves coming out this far into the trade routes, it possibly means there's something eating its prey...
shinrasfinest: (Light Smile)

9. ^_~

[personal profile] shinrasfinest 2015-08-21 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[The axe is eyed a little; not generally being one for such weaponry but he supposed it were a case of each to their own. For sure the Adventurer knew how to handle it.]

Either that or the prey has relocated. Natural occurrence or not, it might require further investigation.
derplander: (Default)

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-21 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
True. It'll bear investigating, before a poor trader is run over by a pack of hungry wolves.

[He turned towards Sephiroth.] I'm Meteor, by the way. The people back home call me The Adventurer.
shinrasfinest: (Lowered lids down at)

[personal profile] shinrasfinest 2015-08-25 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
I should think that given the unsettled nature of the wildlife as of late, any merchant needing to take a trade route like this one would at least hire some assistance to help him. But you're right, it would better them as a whole.

[Sephiroth nods, calmly. Bangs of silver on either side of his head bobbing forwards and back - caught a little by the breeze.]

I'm Sephiroth, SOLDIER First-class.
derplander: (Default)

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-25 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Back home it would be easier to clear out the trade routes, but there's always room for guards on the trip.

[He nodded at him.]

SOLDIER huh? I take it that's a military institution by the way you seem to emphasize it's rank?
shinrasfinest: (Confused)

[personal profile] shinrasfinest 2015-08-27 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Not so much here.

[He hums as if convincing himself of that fact, also.]

Call it a title I'm hanging onto from my World. I've found it's important to keep a good hold of that which makes us who we are, here in Crystallis.
derplander: (Default)

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-27 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[He nods, shifting a little on his feet.] Back home I worked for a group called the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, a group dedicated to protecting Eorzea from the Primal threat. Summoned spirits of the Beast Tribes.

As for who I was known as, I suppose I could be called a Warrior of Light.
shinrasfinest: (Huh?)

[personal profile] shinrasfinest 2015-08-27 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[That shifting on feet is a little contagious, but on the third time Sephiroth straightens himself up. Restoring some of that straight-backed posture that he's used to carrying himself with.]

Warrior of Light? That's intriguing.

[Considering they are now called 'Heroes' of Light. Not that Sephiroth connects at all with any of the other things that Meteor mentions. What the hell is a Primal? Beast tribes he could hazard a guess but-

There really were all sorts of worlds out there.]

Essentially something of a protector of the peace as well then. [He nods an acknowledgment.]

Good to know I'm not alone in simply carrying on the role I had before.

[Sure, it's not all that clear-cut. Though maybe it's Sephiroth's own overthinking nature that caused it to be so over-complicated.]
derplander: (Default)

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-27 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what they call us. "When calamity falls upon Eorzea, Warriors of Light appear'. [He shrugged.] I was dubbed that twice. Long story.

[Meteor nodded, folding his arms.] That explains a lot. Thank you for the remark.
shinrasfinest: (Intent Gaze)

[personal profile] shinrasfinest 2015-08-28 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh? That's not so entirely dissimilar to the Legend here then.

[The Legend that speaks of Heroes of Light coming to defeat the Calamity. Of course, the popular story doesn't share the fact that every single time the Heroes have failed to do so.]

Anytime.

[Not one to stick around, Sephiroth turns to leave and will do so unless Meteor has anything else to say to him.]
