— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompt below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!

1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.

2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.

3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.

4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.

5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.

6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.

7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.

8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.

9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!

10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Cid to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.

11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.

12/ Events of the Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to capture a Chocobo during Crystalis de Chocobo, maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility, or maybe you'd like to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have liked to regain your true power and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles. Or how about participating in Christmas at Crystallis or fighting in a war for the warriors among you?

13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

Ysale? [The petite blonde clearly had no idea to whom the Adventurer referred. She shakes her head, for the moment focusing on their escape.] Now, Sydney! Back to town, yes? [The chocobo chirped, first at Ashelia and then at the Adventurer's chocobo, and then sped off.]

[It didn't take long for them to lose the wolves, decimated as they were by Shiva's attack. Ashelia stopped Sydney when the city's walls came into view. She let the Adventurer dismount before she did, patting her chocobo's long neck.]
That was Shiva, one of Crystallis' guardian eidolons. I am not surprised you know her by a different name.

[Ashelia dismounts.] Are you all right? Not hurt at all?

[Taking his own chocobo's reigns, he shook his head.] I know her by her real name, Ysayle. Or rather, did in my world. She was a woman, whom I called a friend. She manifested the Primal Shiva in her own flesh, and assisted me several times.

I am fine, I am just a little confused on how someone such as yourself, can summon the primals, er, eidolons, without becoming Tempered by their dark abilities. Though I suppose the rules of various worlds do not apply here, though I would be remiss to call one such as the Lord of the Inferno.

[personal profile] desertbloomed 2015-08-21 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Manifested the Primal in her own flesh? [Eidolons, Primals, Summons, Espers - they all seemed to be similar concepts.] Such power...

I suspect that's the case, yes. [Ashelia nodded along with the Adventurer's explanation, taking Sydney's reigns and walking along.] Lord of the Inferno - you refer to Ifrit, I suppose?
derplander: (Default)

Re: 9.

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-21 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
It was the embodiment of her own hopes and dreams. She created Shiva, based on the original Shiva. That in itself is a major story of itself.

Yes. [His eyes flickered a little at the thought of his first encounter.] In the world I come from, the beastmen have summoned their own primals time and time again. Ifrit, Garuda, Titan, Leviathan, Ramuh... there are more, such as Bismark and Ravana, but there are some who have summoned primals, adorned their own bodies in their power.

Like Ysayle, who embodied Shiva. And the Archbishop, who with his knights, became what we call Knights of the Round, or the Knights 12 and their lord.

[personal profile] desertbloomed 2015-08-21 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[Knights of the Round? Curious - Ashelia had wondered where Montblanc got that title from.]

An intricate tale indeed - perhaps one better suited for another time. With some wine on hand. [Ashelia's voice is wry.] What brought you to the plains in the first place, then? Venturing out on one's own so soon after arriving is a bold move indeed.

Re: 9.

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-21 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[In Montblanc's defense, it had only happened in like two worlds.]

[He chuckled at that.] I was moving to urge my mount to flight. Pray, it did not go well when the wolves came. Failing my own strengths, I was unable to defend myself until you arrived.

Re: 9.

[personal profile] desertbloomed 2015-08-21 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
To flight? [Ashelia and Sydney shared a look.] A chocobo? [Sydney cooed, apparently laughing, but Ashelia kept her composure.] A...difference between worlds, then, I suppose.
derplander: (Default)

Re: 9.

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-21 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Apparently so. In my world, the natural born fliers are the black chocobos, their feathers a hue of night. However, a chocobo trained to fight alongside its master, can also achieve flight if you find a way to awaken their senses to the rush of the winds.
desertbloomed: (consider)

Re: 9.

[personal profile] desertbloomed 2015-08-21 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Awaken their senses to the rush of the winds? [Sydney cooed again. Ashelia smiled, patting his neck.] I do think you've won Sydney over with that.

[Her expression and tone turned serious very quickly.] I would advise against venturing out on your own until you're able to strengthen your abilities. Even I am somewhat remiss in being on my own - there are creatures that can fell even an experienced Hero such as myself. Death may not be lasting for us, but the crystal stasis... [She shook her head.]

Re: 9.

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-21 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[He laughed a little.] Yes, its quite a lengthy process, but rewarding when you can fly through the air like a eagle.

[The Adventurer nodded, shifting a little.] Groups then, with a healer behind them I suppose. If many Heroes are stripped of their powers upon entry, that recklessness could doom many in a heartbeat. And I doubt the monsters of this world are forgiving.

[He tilted his head.] Crystal stasis? You mean, a state other than being temporarily KOed?
desertbloomed: (widowed)

Re: 9.

[personal profile] desertbloomed 2015-08-21 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
It did, for a time. [That battle against the Chocobo Eater...there may have been a large group of Heroes, but their almost unilateral refusal to work together nearly sealed all their fates.]

How to explain the crystal stasis...after one meets death, their body will disappear. Shortly thereafter, it will reappear back in Aqures Ixen, bound to the Crystal of Fire as we are, encased in crystal. For the time of one week, one will sleep. And one will dream.

Re: 9.

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-21 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm... [He nodded.] So... a form of resurrection magic, but one even more powerful than my homeworlds Raise and Resurrection spells. For in my world, death can be staved off by powerful healing magic from the healing Jobs of my world. However, if you get struck by an instantaneous death such as a beheading, well... [he shook his head, thinking of the terrible fate and subsequent tragedy of Tam-Tara Deepcroft...]
desertbloomed: (over shoulder)

Re: 9.

[personal profile] desertbloomed 2015-08-21 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ashelia tilted her head to the side.] Not...quite. Our crystals, apparently, contain time. 'Our time,' it was referred to I believe. It would seem we are...reverted to a 'previous self.' [Ashelia shrugged, a clearly foreign gesture for her.] I'll admit, I'm somewhat vague on the specifics.

Re: 9.

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-21 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[He looked surprised at that.] Time magic? Only the Ascians had that sort of power back home. To chain one into that, it bears little wonder I was worried this was another Ascian plot I was wrapped up in.
desertbloomed: (there)

Re: 9.

[personal profile] desertbloomed 2015-08-21 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Ascian? [Thus far, the cause of all of this hadn't seem specifically tied down to any one Hero's homeworld, excepting Sephiroth and Genesis' experience with a Calamity.] Do go on.
derplander: (Default)

Re: 9.

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-21 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
The Ascians are the dark ones. Living power, which takes on hosts when it needs to be. They seem to have a goal, and in it, they further the summonings of primals in order to destabilize the world further.

And we just recovered from a Cataclysm five years ago. Though the Ascians seem immortal, with the right tools, one can destroy them fully.

Re: 9.

[personal profile] desertbloomed 2015-08-21 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ashelia nods.] Beings of pure power...similar to the Occuria. Spirits of sorts, acting through others, through their stones...though they shun the Espers. [The Scions of Dark, anyway.]

In any case, time magic seems less a taboo here in Crystallis. We have access to it ourselves, as Heroes.

Re: 9.

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-21 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Looks like we have some in common. [He smiled and shrugged helplessly at the last bit.]

It's not that it's taboo, it's... well... [The Adventurer laughed.] We really don't know how to DO it back home!
desertbloomed: (Default)

Re: 9.

[personal profile] desertbloomed 2015-08-21 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
We only just discovered the job ourselves recently. [She didn't seem very enthused at the point.] It is powerful, indeed, though like any other job requires considerable time to master.
derplander: (Default)

Re: 9.

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-21 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I see. Bears looking into then I suppose. I'm not quite as good with magic, but i have a curative spell here and there.
desertbloomed: (over shoulder)

Re: 9.

[personal profile] desertbloomed 2015-08-21 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
That's just it - once you've equipped the job, you'll have no such trouble. [She looked over at the Adventurer, sizing him up.] Though with your build, I would say a warrior's path more likely.
derplander: (Default)

Re: 9.

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-21 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[He nodded at that.] I am a warrior actually. Though when I arrived at the Holy See of Ishgard back home, I changed my armor in for the armor of the Dragoon. I am no ninja though, or a light on their toes Monk however.
desertbloomed: (Default)

Re: 9.

[personal profile] desertbloomed 2015-08-21 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
As it happens, both jobs are available here on Crystallis. Though I suspect you're aware of that already. [She glanced once more at the Adventurer. He seemed articulate enough, but still came out to the fields by himself...]

I am the Lady Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca, do pardon my manners. [Though, given the fact that she just saved his life, Ashelia didn't think it would be an issue.]
derplander: (Default)

Re: 9.

[personal profile] derplander 2015-08-25 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
That I am. I was clad in my Warrior Armor when I arrived here. It confused me for a moment, since I was clearly wearing my Dragoon equipment before I arrived. [He was used to weirdness, but not lacking strength and powers.]

Lady. [He bowed.] I am the Adventurer known as Meteor. Pray, I was not aware I was in the presence of nobility.
