Test Drive Meme

Applications will open on November 01st at 00:00 GMT+4 (October 31st at 15:00 EST) and close on November 08th at 23:59 GMT+4 (14:59 EST)
— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompt below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!
1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.
2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.
3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.
4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.
5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.
6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.
7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.
8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.
9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!
10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Cid to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.
11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.
12/ Events of the Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to capture a Chocobo during Crystalis de Chocobo, maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility, or maybe you'd like to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have liked to regain your true power and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles. Or how about participating in Christmas at Crystallis or fighting in a war for the warriors among you?
13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

Ichigo Kurosaki | Bleach
The housing situation is going to take a little getting used to but what he can't get used to is his neighbor. The neighbor isn't such a bad guy but for some reason they have failed to realize that their job a Black Mage does not allow them to try to use magic for everything. A few loose spells here and there were enough to make Ichigo wary of passing by the window too closely on the street. He feels a little bad for the other moogle having to put up with that trigger-happy magicking most of the time.
He's just returning with some supplies from the item shop when a flaming wooden cutting board, burned toast included, gets thrown out the window in a panic. Ichigo jumps back from the near miss, staring at the burning pile on the ground with wide eyes as his moogle uses his legs as a shield from the flames. Did... did he just miss getting hit by toast?
He scowls and points at the window where the neighbor's moogle is hovering, startling it back inside with a squeaky kupo. "Are you crazy?! What the hell are you doing?!"
He wants new neighbors. Right now; preferably with some common sense. Or someone is going to have to find a new job that doesn't include fire and ice spells at the ready.
4/Giant biiiiirds
Ichigo can't help but stare at the large birds in the pen as he leans on the fence. They seem friendly enough, milling about and not bothered by the fact that there's a human and a moogle watching them up close. This is a bit of a new thing for him. Never would he have ever thought that he would come to the point in his life that he would have to ride a giant bird to get around.
The moogle looks up at him after the long moments of silence. "Are you okay, kupo? You look like you haven't seen a Chocobo before."
The earns the fuzzy companion a blink and a side-glance. "Uh... yeah, my world doesn't have these. I mean there's birds but we don't ride them."
"Don't worry, kupo, they're friendly!" The moogle's wings flap as he hovers up to the top railing of the fence. "The wild ones will run away from you but we can go catch one if you like, kupopo."
Catching one? At some point Ichigo will have to bite the bullet and take a stab at catching a Chocobo but for the moment he needs to come to terms with this possible mode of transportation. He's never even ridden a horse before.
"...I think I'll use my own two feet for now."
4/Giant biiiiirds
There was a loud, happy, squawk from the bird as it attempted to eat Ichigo's hair. It looked like a pumpkin which was a vegetable that the large bird was familiar with and loved.
Zelda instantly noticed that her loftwing had wandered off and rushed after the bird in a hurry. She assumed it was getting into some sort of trouble and lucky for her, it was easy to spot.
"I'm sorry!" The girl had spotted Ichigo. Her skirts were gathered in her hand as she aimed to get the bird away from him. It didn't stop the large Loftwing from chomping down on that delicious looking hair.
no subject
Ichigo blinked and watched his furry friend hop away and jump off of the railing in a flutter of wings before he realized how close that blue bird from earlier had gotten. It was a little intimidating up close. And it was focused only on him. ...What did he do?! It was a mere second before the giant bird squawked happily and went in for the kill.
"Wh-What the hell?!" His face was stricken with shock and he quickly tried to scramble away from the beak that wanted to eat his hair. Was his bright hair such an attention grabber in this world too?!
no subject
"Are you okay? I'm so sorry. She usually isn't like this." Though it didn't help that she was the only loftwing in Crystallis. Zelda was sure that her friend got lonely.
"I've never seen her try and eat hair."
no subject
"Yeah. Y-yeah, I'm good."
It definitely meant that his hair apparently offended giant birds too. Just great. He'd have to make sure he didn't turn his back on that one in particular.
"I guess we both learned something."
no subject
"I'm Zelda. Are you new? I haven't seen you around."
She decided it was best to just move forward in the conversation. She felt really bad and a little awkward but she was all smiles and cheer. Zelda knew most of the heroes even if it wasn't by name and she was sure she'd notice someone like Ichigo before now.

#4 TIRED OF ME YET HELLO NICE TO SEE YOU MADE IT!
He probably already knew just how pro-Chocobo Rukia was about the big yellow birds.
"Some of the other Heroes here will let you borrow theirs as well, if you simply ask them. Learning to ride is simple."
Said the shinigami who had to get tackled off of a runaway chocobo and dedicated nearly two weeks to learning how to ride without falling off the saddle the moment she got on.
WAI HOLLOW THAR, LONG TIME NO SEE
"I know I'll need to find one eventually but I don't need one right now, right?"
Afraid? No, no... Extremely wary though. Ichigo wasn't bad with animals but if one or more of the yellow birds got angry or startled... No, he'll be fine on his own two feet for now.
I NO RITE????
She smiled, with a hint of mischief. "Of course, you may always ride with me in such an instance. The saddles are meant to accommodate two."
Wouldn't that be a party and a half?
no subject
"No way. I'll get my own."

"Keep me informed on your progress. I think I'll do a little riding, while the weather is good."

3!
He witnesses that near-miss, and a second later he's reflexively casting Blizzara to put out the still-smoldering flames. Fortunately, Ven's control is more experienced and much finer, so there's no risk of hitting a passer-by. With a sigh, he addresses the other teen as he walks up -- he's seen him around a few times, but this is the first that he's gotten to speak to him -- and regards the broken window.
"He's still at it?"
no subject
"Yeah. I don't know what he's thinking but he could end up really hurting someone if he doesn't knock it off."
The moogle peeks out from behind Ichigo's legs and looks at the doused pile of burnt bread and wood before waddling over to investigate it closer. At least some of the Heroes know how to control their magic.
no subject
"I kinda wonder why he's using magic in the first place. Stoves are a lot easier than trying to cast just right. Especially if you're new to those spells." Magic isn't necessarily faster, either -- unless the goal is indeed to blacken the food entirely.
no subject
Ichigo can relate but he'd never try to cook food with it. Or use it indoors of all things. Trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt here but it doesn't look like he's believing his own words.
"Why he hasn't stopped is more important. I'm pretty sure he lives with some other people so either they've given up or find an excuse to take off when he starts this crap up again."
4) Birbs
"Oh...hey you're one of the new Heroes right? Do you need any help?"
no subject
"Uh... Y-Yeah, I am."
He lowers his hands a bit. The other has control over the Chocobo at least.
"These things don't normally do that all the time, do they?"
no subject
Chuckling he rubbed the back of his neck, "I'm Cloud. This is Zack." The black bird trilled happily at the mention of it's name.
'Well if a new Hero is here then maybe I can use this as my excuse for being late.' Cloud thought to himself before speaking up again, "Anyway welcome to Crystallis. Are you from a world that doesn't have Chocobos?"
no subject
"Ichigo."
He stole a glance at the Chocobo, finding the name a little strange but he wouldn't point it out. If the bird was happy to be called Zack then he was not about to invoke its feathery wrath.
"Can't say I've ever heard of them before I got here. The birds we have back home don't usually have people riding them; most of them are a lot smaller."
no subject
"Ah. So you're from one of those worlds that has those...horse things, right?" He didn't disbelieve the other Heroes. Enough from different worlds were agreeing on the point. He just honestly couldn't picture it.

#3
[And now his kitchen is on fire. What to do about it? Throw the things that are on fire out the window. Seems logical enough!]
[If only he applied that logic to his use of magic on food...]
[And now someone is squawking about it outside. Jaeha leans out the window with a calm smile. Looks like it's just some kid.]
Hey, would you mind keeping it down? Working magic takes a lot of concentration, you know. Thanks.
[He waves, still wearing that infuriating grin, and closes the window.]
no subject
O-Oi! Get back here!
[He approaches the door to his neighbor's place, knocking on it with a scowl. Working on one's magic was one thing but if it could injure people outside, whether intentional or not, Ichigo won't stand for it.]
no subject
My my, you really are noisy. Were you really so eager to see me that you had to beat down my door?
[NOW he smiles.]
no subject
I wasn't--Look, if you're trying to practice your magic why don't you do it somewhere where there's no people around?
no subject
I'm not interested in being that weird man toasting bread on the plains every day.
[Jaeha leans against the doorframe. This kid is amusing. And a little high strung.]
