— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompt below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!
1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.
2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.
3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.
4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.
5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.
6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.
7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.
8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.
9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!
10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.
11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.
12/ Events of the Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to capture a Chocobo during Crystalis de Chocobo, maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility. Or maybe you would have liked to regain your true power and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles.
13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

9/ Random Encounter
The irony of skeletons being her encounter the first thing in this unfamiliar world with unfamiliar clothes. On top of that her attacks seemed to be working well, except that she felt rather silly in her new attire. Not that it's much different from her usual.
"You really want to play dirty games, huh?"
She swats one that jumped at her across the field. Suddenly, she was surrounded. Selen just smiles, "Now that's rude. I'm not in such a playful mood today."
She readies her sword as her eyes were suddenly very sharp as she raised her sword. She didn't need to question why or how. She was going to go with the flow and hope that nothing happens. She's sure she can take them on.
9/ Random Encounter with A Fiend
"My my, and I was so impressed with your display. I thought I could just watch." says the incredibly long-haired woman speaks from beneath the massively wide brim of her class's signature straw hat. "But... Helping is just as good a greeting as any, isn't it?". Continuing her approach, she waves her arm and another powerful gale renders two more undead flat on their bony pelvii.
no subject
"I'm that skilled aren't I?" she chimed a she hashed another group of them, though her expression was less playful and more serious as she said that.
"Agreed. You scratch my back here and I will scratch yours, girlie."
She replied as she hashed another out of the way. Of course, allies are important.
"You're not half bad. See if we can put an end to this circus ring."
no subject
"The walking dead are hardly a challenge. They crumble over their own weight." Another swipe of her arm blows a pair of skeletons into one another and tumbling across the ground.
"It is, unfortunate, that I'm so weak h ere. If only I could be as strong as I was back home..." she grumbles as wind began to gather under the other woman's feet.
no subject
No they aren't but they can get tricky with all the of them trying to dog pile her. It's great to have help to be honest.
"Of course, but before that, I want to make sure they can't move. They're a bit stingy, if you know what I mean."
She replied hacking at the rest of them slowly and sending them crashing to the ground and followed by another pile of broken skeletons.
"Ditto that, kiddo. This is quite the annoyance."
Selen's smile brightened a bit. Oh-- well that's going to be interesting.
no subject
In her frustration, and carelessness, an entirely unrelated skele-man caught flame.
"Ugh, disgusting fire!"
The next enemy to approach her companion would be caught in the wind trap protecting her at least.
"And by the way..." Her tone was much less pleasant, but by no fault Selen's, "Despite that I might only be six years old, I'm quite far from being a child."
no subject
The former General replied, playing around with the skeletons. Her eyes were rather narrowed at some point as they were starting to annoy her. Needless to say, this new attack was rather useful to her as she ends up using another elemental attack on hoard of skeletons that were rushing from her rear.
Selen chuckled briefly at the temper of the person. The girl did remind her of a certain princess, but not quite as talented.
Colour her a bit amused when she was being protected by a wind trap not soo soon after and she seemingly appreciated the help.
"Six years old is quite young, if you keep frowning like that you'll get wrinkles, sweetie."
no subject
Drawing her hand through the air, then striking it downward, lightning strikes down another and another of the undead hoards harassing the General. The one with the sword, at least.
"You know what WOULD be a delight... if these creatures had a mind to know when they were outclassed."
no subject
Selen laughs as a thank you when the girl decided to help her get rid of the rest of the skeletons that were latching themselves too close to her.
"Outclassed, and outranked. Sadly, I don't think they have mind since I'm quite sure their brains have melted off a long time ago!"
Another elemental slash and it there was the last of the skeletons.
no subject
"Well... I suppose that was a healthy exercise of power there." she says, dusting off the blue cloak she wore, but in doing such, it revealed, briefly, what little she wore underneath. Her hand moves to flick her hair behind her, a rather glamourous effect as it billows behind her and spills over one of the mauled double-corpses.
"I suppose an introduction is in order. I'd hate to call you 'Old Lady' from herein." she teases. "Valvalis, Lady of the Wind." she says, though inside, it disappoints her that she STILL must remain on her feet.
no subject
"I still got a lot of adjusting to do. Good to know you got some exercies and thanks for the hand," she replied sheathing her long sword as she gave the girl a brief raise of brow. Well, she supposed.
"I'd watch my tongue if I were you sweetie. Age doesn't have anything on skill," she replied almost amused, "Valvalis, a pleasure. I am Selen, former General of Pheliosta. The funny gentlemen then used to call me the Dark Angel. They said I was terrifying. Can you believe that? Me?"
9/ Random Encounter with a Vampire
But as he entered battle he definitely noticed a range of differences. He was usually stronger than this, faster, and even his regenerative abilities where far superior. He releases a frustrated snarl from his throat as he hacked the skeletons down.
It was still a simple task for the trained soldier, but it was annoying how SLOW taking down such easy and simple foes was proving to be. Mikaela zipped through the hoards, taking down anything that got in his way, not even thinking that another "hero of light" could also be in the fray until he breaks through into an opening and raises his arm to strike down against her.
no subject
Now back to this vampire fellow here. She was relieved for some assistance but who would have thunk a vampire would be her saviour of all people. Not that she was ungrateful about it or anything. Selen only chuckled at this. He was pretty good with the sword and he was knocking out the skeletons with ease until he didn't seem to recognized that she was a human among the skeletons.
Her sword came flying up to parry his as she grinned as he tried to strike down at her unintentionally of course. She had no hard feelings about this.
"My, a little excited aren't we Mr. Vampire?"
9/ Random Encounter with a -real- Hero
The man was clad in purple/silver armor in the Dragoon style, light and flexible and with the appropriate helmet as well. Shaped like a dragon with a long silver plume -his hair- which descended down his back from the top-back of his head.
The nearest skeleton turned and made to flail at him, the arm being met with a firm boot to kick the attack away and then he swung once more with his sword in a downwards arch to counter.
no subject
Selen only shook her head as she continued to help the other cut down the skeletons one by one, while making sure she avoided getting too close to him. there's no need to get burned today to be honest. He was a dashingly strong gentleman though. The movements were really swift and beyond what a normal swordsperson was capable of.
Selen wasn't all that bad herself. Her inhumanly strong sense of awareness and swift movement could have made people mistaken her for something other than a human being.
no subject
With a satisfied 'hmph' of a noise, his dragon-like head nodded, the long plume moving also with the motion.
"It looked as if you may have been in some trouble there, Miss."
no subject
"They were a looking for a date, and I suppose they got more than what they wanted," she chuckled, "Thank you for the assistance. They were rather annoying following me and all."
If she was her usual self, using her usual magic, she would have rode this fight hands down.
no subject
"This region is rather renowned for it though." A light smile followed, but nothing too extravagant, she wouldn't know it but he too knew all too well how it felt feeling somewhat less-capable than was was supposed to be.
no subject
"You don't say? Anything else, I should be aware of before I start playing hack the Skeletons?" she shrugged a little as she fixed her posture. Her smile never left her face. She didn't dislike the feeling of having something new to use, but the idea that she lost her own abilities and now having to replace it with this, was still troublesome.
no subject
"Fire tends to work wonders." No duh, really, given his display a few moments ago. Sephiroth then looked over Selen as if to guess what her current Job might be; Warrior undoubtedly, being as she were wielding a sword? He knew that Warrior wasn't the only sword-Job but it seemed as good a guess as any. He recalled well the disorientation of being significantly less skilled, but yet still retaining the knowledge of his years of training.
"And try not to over compensate."
no subject
He's probably better than her kid, and her combined. Now that's new. Not that Selen couldn't hold her own grounds. She knew he wasn't a typical guy that's for sure. At least, judging from her long experience as a sword fighter.
"I can see that, seeing how you barbecued those creepies."
She replied pointing to whatever was left of the charred skeletons. She chuckled at his next set of words, though. Yeah, she supposed she could be a warrior, but not really. It was close. There's plenty of fun classes honestly.
"Over compensate, me?" she chimed, "of course not. I wouldn't want to be careless in any way or form."
no subject
He mirrored her chuckle, a few short huffs of the same being drawn out over low vocal tones until Sephiroth then shook his head again.
"Yes, it's very easy to believe that a technique will work as well as you're used to- finding out that it doesn't rather quickly, especially for the first time, is jarring to anybody."
no subject
Well, that chuckle kept the former General at her toes. She was rather content that he had good humour too. Now, even that was rare.
"Indeed it is. I might have been careless to think that my current abilities could take me further, but at least it worked out in the end. I'm Selen, former General of the Pheliosta's Holy Knights. It's a pleasure to meet you.....?"
As in gesture to hear his name.
no subject
As for good humor, she'd have to wait and see. Sephiroth was only being polite, really. Still, first impressions would last and maybe take some away from the social awkwardness that might later reveal itself.
"Sephiroth." He answered her prompt for an introduction just as well as anyone else might. "SOLDIER, First-Class. Or at least, for what titles across World's even mean here."
no subject
A good impression always lasts and social awkwardness is her forte. She enjoys engaging with people who have some sort of social awkwardness since Selen had little filters to how she behaved. She was brash and silly but she was very serious when she needed to be.
"Pleasure to meet you Sephiroth," she replied giving him a brief chuckle, "Probably not seeing we've been more or less been forced to use abilities we were never given before int he past. I find it rather interesting."
