That sword you carry...how did you come to wield it?

There used to be a great many stories circulated about that. How it came from within the soul of a dragon, how it was pulled from a mako-fountain; the truth couldn't be further from these mystical means.

Early on, as a boy I picked up swordplay and gravitated towards the use of katana's over the more mainstream use of broader-type swords. I never much liked the balance of them. Thinner blades are much more elegant and shorter, quicker maneuvers can be utilized. As I got older, increasing the length presented an increasing challenge, rather than to accept an easy peak of ability.

Masamune is the longest sword I could wield, without sacrificing the integrity of the steel itself.

There are legends of that sword in my world, as well. Like yours, I do not know the truth behind the stories.

You have found a fine blade to compliment your skill. I am glad you have proven worthy of the Great Masamune.

Legends of the sword itself or of the individuals who wield it? In my case, there are plenty of legends surrounding both. Not to mention the legend the Company made of me, for propaganda purposes mostly.

Tell me about the blade and it's relevance in your world?

There are legends of the sword itself, its creator, and those who have wielded it since. But those stories are perhaps better told in person. One day, I will tell you what I know of the Masamune of my world, and you can judge yourself whether or not the stories add up.

Sounds like a plan. I look forward to it.
