— Reply with a character you wish to test in the game's setting.
— Feel free to use one of the prompt below or make one of your own!
— Tag around! This is a panfandom RP, so don't hesitate to tag both castmates and non-castmates.
— Most importantly, have fun!
1/ Welcome to the world of Crystallis!
You have seen reality shatter and collapse around you, in the depths of the void you found a Crystal and now you are in the city of Aqures Ixen, surrounded by Moogles and people as lost and confused as you are. On the bright side, everyone thinks you're a hero! On the downside, they expect you to save the world. Maybe their expectations are a bit too much. Thankfully, you're not abandoned to your fate as a Moogle explains to you everything you need to know. Maybe it's time to get to know your companions in misfortune. Besides, it seems this has occurred past month already-- Maybe some people who have been here for longer than you may help.
2/ Do you like your new life?
No? Well, either way, you better get used to it, to your new powers, to your new house, to the ball of fur that follows your every steps—Who knows, maybe you'll even make some friends here. Besides, even if everyone expects you to save the world, fighting isn't the only way to do so. Maybe you could open a shop to help and properly equip your friends who are actually eager to fight. Maybe you could try and gather people who think diplomacy can stop war, you could even start your own researches on the Crystals— Or you could make sure your house is the prettiest in all of Aqures Ixen. Anything is possible.
3/ Neighborhood woes
The government of Aqures Ixen is very sorry, but it seems there are too many of you Heroes of Light. Hence why there is no free houses left in district dedicated to housing you. This may also be why you're not alone in the house that was given to you. Hopefully you're not living with a mad villain plotting to take over the world late at night, and hopefully your neighbor isn't a singer who doesn't know how to sing. On the bright side, you may have someone very cool living with you and an artist next door! It's just not likely.
4/ Crystallis de Chocobo
Upon arrival, your Moogle gave you a map of Crystallis. This world may be a bit big for you to explore, so why not go to the Chocobo Farm and ask for a Chocobo? These big birds can't fly, but they're much more efficient than horses when it comes to travelling. Maybe it's your first time riding a Chocobo; it might be a good idea to have someone with you in case something goes wrong. Or maybe the old man at the farm didn't have any Chocobos left and gave you some Chocobo Lure© so you can go and capture your own. You can find details on Chocobo Capture here.
5/ A thing called Mognet
Hopefully you weren't used to Internet and cellphones back home. Otherwise, you might be a tiny bit confused when your Moogle returns to you with a stack of letters. Or maybe someone else's Moogle is coming to you with a voice message it learnt by heart and is now going to recite to you with a lot of Kupo. That's how the "network" works here.
6/ A thing called Strike
In spite of how old-fashioned it is, Mognet is very useful and odds are that you may have become dependent on it. Hopefully not, because one local tradition seems to be Mognet Strikes. Nobody knows any more whether the Moogles have legitimate reasons to go on strike or if they are just lazy. But today, Mognet is down, and to get information you have no choice but going to the public board in the third district or in taverns.
7/ I believe I can fly~
You are on an Airship! Airships regularly depart from Aqures Ixen and stop by most major cities in the world, so they're the perfect means of transportation for you to go and explore this world. You can go anywhere in a matter of hours — One can only hope you don’t have motion sickness.
8/ Exploration
Enough expository banter. Now is the time to explore. Maybe rather than spending most of your time in Aqures Ixen, you'd rather spend it living in Balicea, or betting on Chocobo Races in Trano Golsaucia. Or maybe you'd rather go and explore some ancient ruins that may hold some precious information. With Airships and Chocobos at your disposal, you can go nearly anywhere that isn't under imperial control; unless you have a death wish of course.
9/ Random Encounter
You were minding your own business walking around, and suddenly monsters attacked you! Time to put to use the skills you've learned with your Jobs! Alternatively, maybe this encounter isn't random at all, and you have been sent on a mission to kick some imperial asses in the war confronting the Heran Empire and the Republic of Esdham. Good luck!
10/ Getting Jobs is hard
It all started when you asked Jessie to give you a new Job. What could and should have been a formality, quickly turned into a trial. All you wanted was a Job, and here you are in the wild, hunting for a Malboro Vine. Or maybe you are in some ancient and decrepit ruins looking for an artifact. Or yet again, maybe she simply asked you to assist her in her researches on the Crystals. Getting new Jobs is not easy. Consider yourself happy though, at least you don't have to do that alone.
11/ The world is subject to unrelenting pain and suffering…
This is why you should play a game. After all, there are things a lot more important than saving the world: Blitzball is one of them. Triple Triad is another. Why don't you take a break and do something different for once; anyone wanting to play Blitzball is given a special potion allowing them to breath underwater, whereas someone who wants to play Triple Triad should have no difficulties finding veterans more than happy to get rid of their low level cards.
12/ Events of the Past
Missed an event you would have liked to participate in? The Test Drive Meme is the perfect place to play this event without being restricted by the game's chronology! Maybe you would have liked to capture a Chocobo during Crystalis de Chocobo, maybe you would have liked to be lost and attacked from all sides in the creepy Magitek Research Facility, or maybe you'd like to celebrate the Christmas of Crystallis. Yet again, maybe you would have liked to regain your true power and subsequently be on your path to death, as in The Night of the Thirteen Moogles. Or how about participating in Christmas at Crystallis or fighting in a war for the warriors among you?
13/ Wild Card
Don't like the options offered here? Go crazy and choose what you want to do in this world!

Wirt? Wirt!
Well frog he isn't here.
[The young boy circles his frog ignoring the moogle that floated nearby. Whom he's already attempted to change the name of.]
You stay here. I'll get directions.
[He wanders up to the first person he sees with a pot on his head and a smile on his face.]
Excuse me. I'm lost! Have you seen my brother Wirt?
9/Random Encounter
[He carries the frog on his head with the moogle floating close behind him. He spots a monster and places the frog down before taking a few steps back.]
Come on Fred. Get him!
[The frog croaks once before jumping off. Greg follows behind with a pout.]
No! Not that way!
13/Wild card
2
....Wirt?
[Elena hadn't expected to be approached by a small boy. Especially one wearing an...interesting hat. If you could call it a hat.]
No, I don't think I've..
[Pausing, she looks around for a second before squatting down so she's more at his level. Because if there was one thing Elena had a soft spot for, it was small children.]
I don't know if I've seen him, there are a lot of people in the city. What does your brother look like?
2
[He shakes his head with his hands on his hips.]
Come on George Washington! We have to go find Wirt!
[Greg turns around and grabs the frog.]
Thank you lady!
[He seems unconcerned about the fact that he's been called a hero of light or that a fuzzy moogle is shadowing him.]
no subject
Oh sweet summer child.]
Eh?
[There were many things causing Elena to pause. Firstly, who was George Washington? Was it the frog? Okay, it looked like it was. And who would name their child 'Wirt'? Sounds too much like 'Wart' and that's just a horrible name and -]
W-Wait a second!
[Her momentary confusion finally lifted, Elena is quick to hurry to the boy's side, giving him a slightly disapproving look.]
Its dangerous for you to go alone, even with a moogle. How about I help you look for your brother?
no subject
[Greg smiles.]
Wirt is usually the plan guy and I didn't have one. [He puts his frog on the teapot on his head and points forward.]
Leeeeet's go!
[Of course it doesn't take long for Greg to veer off track. His path goes directly to a candy store where he's eyeing everything behind the glass.]
no subject
....You should probably have a plan just in case he isn't around. Or at least an idea...
[She's only somewhat chiding, considering the boy's age. Elena can't help but give a little amused noise as she follows closely.
And then stops at the front of the candy store with a blank, almost unamused expression.]
I...thought you said we were looking for your brother...
no subject
You're right.
[Except that he couldn't help but be hungry. He doesn't remember the last time he ate. He walks a few steps forward idly chattering to Elena.]
That's right! It takes time to come up with a good plan. Hey! Did you know that elbow macaroni isn't made of elbows!
no subject
[That sinking feeling. That's guilt. Because children liked to look at candy stores and, now that she thought about it, wouldn't the boy's brother be there too?]
You know...
[She's interrupted by the boy's next comment, which earns yet another pause. An opening of the mouth and a slow shutting of it before she smirks.]
I would hope not. Eating real elbows might not taste good.
[And a heartbeat later.]
Speaking of things tasting good, it might not be a bad idea to check out that candy store.
no subject
Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaandy!
[He walks over towards the store and disappears inside. The frog sits next to Elena and croaks once before Greg wonders back outside to pick him up.]
Come on Greg Jr. you'll be late.
[With that he disappears inside once more.]

He spots Greg--is he poor?--and then the Moogle. This little boy was another hero? Barkeep shakes his head at the sad thought of these folks being so desperate that they took a child away from his home.
"Don't know if I did, kid. What's he look like?"
no subject
The child appeared far to happy to be in this situation.
"Mr. Fefferson said he went that way." Greg smiled pointing of in a random direction. The moogle above him just rolled his eyes as the young boy placed his frog on his head.
no subject
He addresses the Moogle. "You there. Did you bring this kid's brother, too?"
no subject
Gerg had already started to wander off and was several yard away with his frog by the time his moogle was able to stop him again. "Gregory!"
He turned with a smile. "Yes. Mr. Kupa?"
"Don't wander off kupo."
Gregory just smiled plopping down to the ground as he pulled something from his side bag. "Did you know if you add water to raisins they become grapes?! That's a ROCK FACT!" He pulled out a rock with a derpy looking smile painted on.
no subject
As disappointed as he is with whoever's in charge, he tries to be polite with the kid, even though he wants to correct that "rock fact" of his.
"That's interesin', Greg," he answers with an attempted hint of amiability. "But if you're lost, I'd reckon it'd be best to take you to the police, or somethin', 'till we find your brother."
Or a way to take you home, he mumbles to himself.
no subject
"We didn't bring you here kupo. You just arrived. No one knows how to get the heroes home." The moogle knew that the man didn't want to hear that and while Greg had heard it once before he didn't seem all that upset.
"Ain't that they way." He shook his head and then his frog croaked as if in agreement.
no subject
"C'mon, Greg," he holds out a hand. "Let's go find someone to look after you." He was not trusting a small animal to take care of a little kid.
no subject
Gregory giggled and smooshing his face together. "I should find Wirt! I'm sure he's here somewhere. You guys just don't know it yet."
no subject
"Now, I'll get you somethin' to eat first, then we can figure out how to get you back to your brother, sounds good?" It was a better way to spend the rest of the day than wandering around town looking for work.
no subject
"So... hungry." He fell on the ground the teapot staying on his head as his face collides with the hard earth.
"Neeeeed foood!"
The frog croaked and jumped on Greg unconcerned of his cries.
no subject
He crouched and picked up Greg, who was light enough for Barkeep. "Come now, there's some places I saw a few blocks past. We can eat up and discuss the matter at the same time."
That last phrase was punctuated with a side glance at Greg's Moogle.
no subject
"Don't forget George Washington!" At that his moogle flies over and picks up the frog which had begun to hope away. The moogle didn't have much to say to Barkeep. He didn't want such a troublesome hero to look after, he was only sent by the city.
He wasn't getting paid enough for this.
no subject
See, this is why Mordecai and his wife don't have children.
A very tired Barkeep put Greg back on the ground when they were within sight of the restaurant. Even though he still had to make the kid walk without getting distracted, it was a shorter distance.
"Listen here, now. I don't know what sort of characters are in that place at the hour, so best be on your best behavior and don't start causin' no trouble in there, you hear?" He spoke in a stern voice he hoped could be taken as fatherly.
no subject
He paused and looked down. "I found a quarter." He glanced a the piece of gil curiously. "Wait a minute.. this isn't a quarter."
Gregory tossed it away and then walked into the tavern.
"I'm hungry."
He walked in with his frog setting his frog on a chair to an empty table. "You. Wait. Here. I'm go get food."
no subject
He opened the door for Greg to enter. The tavern was only half-full, as the two of them already missed the lunch hour, but the noise level showed that this place was pretty popular no matter the time of day. A good place to work, Barkeep thought, if they were actually looking for employees.
"Now, now," he took hold of Greg's shoulder, "we're all orderin' together. That frog of yours might run off."
It was an animal, after all, and frogs weren't the type to obey commands.
no subject
"Mashed potatoes!" He threw his hands in the air with an energetic smile before his stomach began to grumble again. He then proceeded to lay on the floor gripping his tummy. "So hungry."
